I really hope you are all doing well! This is a relaxed chatty unboxing of my Hobonichi order for 2025. It's been a while, I was feeling very nervous so I do hope you enjoy.

I love all your choices, especially the cats on bread! I got an A6 cover that has the two kitties on bicycles on it. Still waiting for my order-it seems to be taking forever. I enjoyed your video very much!👍

I have to be honest, I have considered going back for that 2nd A5 cover but I think it may have sold out now! I do hope you love what you have so far and if you do get anything else, I hope you love that just as much. Thanks so much for commenting :)
It took me a while to figure out a comfortable way to use the weekly part of the cousin. The space was way too narrow and I don’t time block regularly. I started experimenting with different ways of breaking up the page (I looked at a lot of nolty planner layouts because they have so many). I draw a horizontal line at 10 and write the days in a column under the little calendar- so it’s like a moleskine. I track weather under the date and from 5-10 I write in habits I like to track. The left page is blank and I make to do lists etc there.
Basically- it’s super easy to rearrange and try new things. I tried about three different layouts before I settled on the one I use. There’s also the PAL layout that’s interesting…. There’s a lot to choose from and it takes just a few minutes to set up. I wish you luck!

I haven't time blocked myself for a long time (I think maybe the last time I did regularly was in the Jibun Techo I used a good few years back). I like the sound of how you've been using your weekly and I am glad you've managed to find something that works for you - I will definitely give this a try!
I am not sure if I have seen the PAL layout before, or if I have, I've not paid attention to the name properly so I will be sure to check that out too. I'm thinking, I have a LOT of space in my current Cousin to give a good few layouts a try before the new year so, it's time to get experimenting!

I use the weekly section to track what I actually do. I want to make my time use more meaningful than I had in the past.
I can relate to this. I fell like I have wasted a lot of time and space rewriting information which really doesn't need to be replicated. I want to have the weekly bit as a useful space, I think I just need to adjust to it being a vertical - I have used vertical layouts in the past, but I did time blocking. I think I might use it as a bit of a health/wellbeing tracker for a while and see how that goes. Lots of weeks left in my current Hobonichi to experiment before the new year. Weekly pages on the cousin, turn the page 90 degrees and write a word each day along the day section to practice your lettering.
Oh what a fab idea! I really like this. I do have some brush tip pens laying around somewhere so I could try out some calligraphy styles. Lots of space left in my current A5 to practice in before the new year and I am really excited to try out some of these ideas. Thank you so much for sharing this with me!

Wow, I'm surprised by how many people do not use the weekly pages. I use them daily and rarely use the daily pages except for grocery lists, house shopping notes, etc. I just started a week ago using them as a daily log of important events for that day.
I'm surprised too by the amount of people who do not use, or have not found a way of using the weekly pages that work them. I will say though, I am glad not to be alone! I used to time block but it's been such a long time since I have really needed to do that, so it leaves me wondering what else I could do. I like the daily log. I might experiment with this but maybe logging unexpected things that happened on the day? I am sure I will figure something out.
