When I was a little girl I recieved the book, "The Borrowers", and I've been fascinated with miniatures and seeing how scraps, and caps and all sorts of objects could be utilized in a minature world. You've brought that childhood fascination back to me! ❤

Thanks you I'm Glad you liked it!! i said I felt bad after I said it and when i thought of actual being beaten horses, then I thought , why is this an expression? then i thought what about animal advocates? Then I was like HEY I DON"T EVEN KNOW ANY HORSES. After I recorded it ....and listened to the playback I laughed, then i hoped no one was offended. Thank you for seeing the humor!!
@@littlegretchensworkshop7665 sadly, there don't seem to be any rules or organizations to prevent cruelty to horses. They're slaughtered for dogfood or something. Once people can't make money with them. It's expensive to. Just keep one as a pet if you can't ride it anymore or breed it. Or work it

I found your channel by accident, I'm so glad I did, you display the joy, and fun side of miniatures I enjoy.
A lace umbrella, I believe is really a parasol.
Ask your son about shrink wire covers, brilliant to cover wire and other things,neatly, with the use of heat.
Also if you look in the plumbing section of a shop, there are products that are adhesive thin metal tapes, joint sealers. Great for covering an item to "make it metal".
I have covered card pans to make them metal.
I have actually said in the past, I was so hungry " I could eat a horse", but like you, I don't know any horses either, ha ha!

OMG I have never seen anyone make such beautiful things out of scraps and odd bits and pieces, The bags are beautiful, I love the umbrellas , the lace one could be a sun shade instead of for rain lol, they are so pretty, I have been guilty of letting my creativity slide because I thought I needed the exact right stuff but you have proved to me that I do not need anything but my bags of material, lace, ribbon and a few other things that I have in my stash. Thank you I truly appreciate your comment! I earnestly want to dispel the myth that you need to buy alot of expensive materials and supplies in order to create wonderful things! You just need to train your EYE to SEE, what it COULD BE! I got my start creating with just scraps and odd bits! So go ahead and have FUN seeing what you can come up with!

Thanks so much Kim! 😊 The funny part is I don't even realize I'm doing it! I'm so used to salvaging from remnants scraps and trash it just comes naturally. When I was little although Daddy bought me kits and things for my doll house most of the rest I had create from whatever I could glean or find!

Lady you must have read my mind! After an adventure (meaning a slight disaster that I managed to drag back from the edge of no return hahaha) making mini hats, I realised I also needed a handbag and umbrella to hang on my hat stand. Saw someone elses tutorial on how to make an umbrella but this one is SO much more my speed! Thank goodness for little Gretchen, you have saved the day! On a technical note, I know you dont really measure things but any clues to how long that little doweling you used in the umbrella was? I think I can figure out the rest from there myself.

Hi Nessie! Those Dowels are just the kabob skewers from grocery store. They are they use to make Shish Kabobs. Not sure the actual diameter. I'm sorry.... hope you can find some. I'll see if i can add a link for amazon.

Congratulations on your growing number of subscribers! It's not surprising, though, because you make so many darling things in such a fun way. 🥰 Love the purses, mirrors, umbrellas, and hangers! When I make mini wire hangers, I strip off the paper/plastic from twist ties- it's usually a good gauge and length. I may try one or two of these fancy hangers with the wire I scavenged from the work we had done on our house. I can always actually go out and *gasp* BUY some if I "need" more. (My husband: "You have an interesting use of the word "need".) 😆
