It's 2024 and I'm touched by this message and the last prayer. Dear Father, we are your baby boys and girls. Glorify yourself in our lives. Help us develop the discipline to stay committed to the virtues that will make us transformational leaders and bring glory to your name. Amen
Great Comment. Transformation comes from the inside out not the outside in. True genuine change is the result of changing our hearts to line up with the plans the desires of God.
Thank you Azusa Street1906 for uploading and sharing this wonderful message/sermon, God bless you 🙏, watching amidst quarantine/pandemic and yeah we all have to be big/greater from the inside, in Christ, so to the outside or whatever happening externally will not crushed us.
Praise God. JESUS is the Creator and He knows each one of us. For He created us in our mothers womb. All of us whose Father is Jesus Christ are brothers and sisters.
"The Great Awakening" One man wakes, awakens another Second one wakes his next door brother Three awake can rouse a town And turn the whole place upside down Many awake will cause such a fuss It finally awakes all of us One man wakes with dawn in his eyes Surely then it multiplies Surely then it multiplies (Passion in his eyes… Multiplies!)
John have ever heard about Saint Yared, an Ethiopian Saint who had written and sang spritual, immortal songs in the language of Geez and the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahido Church uses. He lived in the fifth century and his teachings are still fresh.
Seeing the good in people who are full of issues is naive and not an uncommon trait but also not a useful one. Seeing people as they are and trusting them to be exactly who they are is a much better strategy. You will save a lot of dissapointment. If you trust a thief to be a thief, you wont put them in a position to rob you and there wont be a problem
GOOD AFTERNOON DR. JOHN C. MAXWELL, YOU KNOW QUITE WELL THAT, I QUOTE: UNLESS SOMEONE LIKE YOU CARES A WHOLE AWFUL LOT, NOTHING IS GOING TO GET BETTER. IT'S NOT. YOU HAVE BEEN BLESSED EVER PLANT THE SEEDS OF INTENTIONALITY IN CHILDREN. YOU SHOULD DO THAT NOW WITH ME AND FOR ME. ARE THESE NOT YOUR WORDS ALONGSIDE, WHAT YOUR OWN DREAMS WAS, DR. MAXWELL?
I have been attempting to wrap my mind around why Christian leaders have not been addressing a particular leader's behavior, that impacts not only the country I live, but the globe who has stated "I am a Christian". So, having attended Kathryn Kuhlman meetings as a child, Mario Marrilo, Leroy Jenkins, attended evangelical churches, all that went with an evangelical, I just can't wrap my heart around it and wonder what Jesus would do/say. Where is the integrity in leadership? Considering Jesus' teachings in the New Testament, several key principles could guide Christian leaders in their behavior and choices regarding political figures like ______: 1. Truth and Integrity Matthew 5:37 (NIV): "All you need to say is simply 'Yes' or 'No'; anything beyond this comes from the evil one." Advice: Jesus would likely advise leaders to be truthful and straightforward, avoiding duplicity or compromise of integrity. This means calling out behavior that is not aligned with Christian values, regardless of political consequences. 2. Love and Compassion Matthew 22:37-39 (NIV): "Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’" Advice: Jesus would emphasize the importance of love and compassion in all actions. Leaders should consider whether their support for political figures aligns with the command to love others and promote the well-being of all people. 3. Justice and Mercy Matthew 23:23 (NIV): "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices-mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law-justice, mercy, and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former." Advice: Jesus would likely urge leaders to prioritize justice and mercy, ensuring that their political alignments do not neglect these critical aspects of their faith. They should advocate for policies and leaders who embody these values. 4. Hypocrisy and Accountability Matthew 7:3-5 (NIV): "Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye." Advice: Jesus would call out hypocrisy and stress the importance of self-examination and accountability. Leaders should reflect on their own actions and motives, ensuring they are not overlooking their own faults while criticizing or supporting others. 5. Servant Leadership Mark 10:42-45 (NIV): "Jesus called them together and said, ‘You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.’" Advice: Jesus would encourage leaders to adopt a servant leadership model, prioritizing the needs and welfare of their communities over personal or political gain. This approach requires humility and a genuine desire to serve others. 6. Nonviolence and Peace Matthew 5:9 (NIV): "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God." Advice: Jesus would promote nonviolence and peace, urging leaders to be peacemakers in their rhetoric and actions. They should strive to bridge divides and foster reconciliation rather than sowing discord. 7. Faith Over Fear John 14:27 (NIV): "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." Advice: Jesus would encourage leaders to act out of faith rather than fear. Fear of losing influence or facing retaliation should not deter them from standing up for what is right and just. Conclusion Jesus' teachings suggest that Christian leaders should prioritize truth, love, justice, mercy, humility, peace, and faith in their decisions and actions. Aligning with these principles may require difficult choices and the courage to speak out against behavior that contradicts core Christian values, regardless of political expediency.
Are they motivated by fear? By ego? by something other than love or Jesus teachings? What and why? Conclusion Jesus' teachings suggest that Christian leaders should prioritize truth, love, justice, mercy, humility, peace, and faith in their decisions and actions. Aligning with these principles may require difficult choices and the courage to speak out against behavior that contradicts core Christian values, regardless of political expediency. Current Behavior of Christian Leaders Many Christian leaders, especially within evangelical circles, seem to be prioritizing political alignment and policy goals over the personal conduct and moral character of political figures like Donald Trump. This often involves: Political Alignment and Support: Many leaders align with Trump because of shared policy goals, such as opposition to abortion and support for religious freedom, often overlooking his personal behavior. Pragmatic Considerations: Some leaders fear alienating their congregations and losing influence, leading them to remain silent or supportive despite moral concerns. Moral and Ethical Compromises: The belief that Trump's policies justify his actions leads to a moral compromise, where leaders overlook behavior that is inconsistent with Christian values. Selective Interpretation of Scripture: Leaders may interpret scripture in a way that justifies support for Trump, emphasizing forgiveness and redemption while neglecting accountability and integrity. Fear of Retaliation: Fear of personal or institutional repercussions can make leaders hesitant to criticize Trump, resulting in a lack of public denouncement of his behavior. Economic and Institutional Interests: Churches and religious organizations may benefit from political alignments, leading to a reluctance to criticize political allies. Personal Relationships and Connections: Personal relationships with Trump or his administration can create a sense of loyalty, making leaders less likely to speak out against him. Final Thoughts While some Christian leaders may feel justified in their support for Trump due to shared political goals and pragmatic considerations, this approach often conflicts with the core principles of truth, love, justice, mercy, humility, peace, and faith taught by Jesus. By prioritizing political expediency over these values, leaders risk undermining their moral authority and the integrity of their witness to their faith. Jesus' teachings call for a commitment to these principles, even when it requires speaking out against powerful figures and facing potential consequences.
