    IRCC changed how Express Entry works. It will conduct Express Entry draws based on occupation and French language proficiency. IRCC identified 82 prioritized occupations in 2023:
    1) French Language Proficiency (TEF Canada score of 7)
    2) Health (35 occupations)
    3) STEM - Science, Tech, Engineering, Math (24 occupations)
    4) Trade (10 occupations)
    5) Transport (10 occupations)
    6) Agriculature & Agri-food (3 occupations)
    If you work in one of the 82 prioritized occupations, you will have easy PR. High CRS score becomes less important. If you are not in the prioritized occuplations list, then you have to rely on high CRS score and PNP. As seats are diverted to prioritized occupations, remaining applicants will face higher minimum CRS scores.

    1. Sir Peter thanks again for your awesome videos. I am almost clocking ONE year work experience as a Retail Sales assistant but graduated with a Comp sci degree. Surely this is not enough to qualify for nomination right? I've do some volunteer tech support but dont have any other significant work experience. I saw Retail salesperson 64100 and cashier 65100 on NOC lists thats why i ask.
    2. Also do we get more nominations points if our education is related to our occupation?

    I studied Metallurgical and Materials Engineering in Nigeria. I have worked for 9 years here, 5 of which is in production/Non-destructive testing and another 4 years in academics as a lecturer.
    I want to pursue masters in Canada (University of Saskatchewan) in Mechanical Engineering.
    What's my chances of getting PR after studies.
    I need the candid truth.
    I don't want to waste fund to study what will not give me a defined pathway to PR and good job.

    • @sunshinemaye
      @sunshinemaye ปีที่แล้ว

      Only if you will get the admission to the university of Saskatchewan, you will definitely get the PR after graduation. You will be given a two to three post graduation work permit after completion of the program. Within that period, apply for the PR after gaining one year work experience. However you will have to pass the IELTS exam to add to your application, so it all depends on you.

    Canada is very very expensive to survive, cost of living is about 40k cad per year and 1 year study is very risky for pr...ircc has huge backlogs and there is inflation and housing shortages and rent mongering going on atm in canada. Do your reserach.

    • @PeterIsesele
      @PeterIsesele  ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Yet, there are people in Canada who are doing well career wise. The cost of living is relative. People should leave within their means and make use of the good opportunities. You take about the bad side, and you failed to mention all the good side.

    • @avinmaharaj4540
      @avinmaharaj4540 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Your talking about people already inside canada, they have no choice but to make use of what is in front of them, while some are fine, some are on the breadline barely surving.. due to inflation and rent mongering....for new immigrants, the prospect is grim. Competiveness to get into a DLI is tough plus housing is tough then you have cost of living. Ircc says 21k/yr for a 3 family unit which is off, the actual cost in a cheap province is 4000-5000 minimum per month. Getting a study permit well that a whole other task if you moving with your entire family...writing a good sop os easy....but you need to have heavy finances and assets. And let's not even start with getting and lmia job offer it's non existent for persons outside canada. If you do not have 100k plus cad to invest in your Canadian migration your chances are grim. Unless you are one fo the lucky ones with a high crs score. I'm speaking for a mature stance with a family. Everyone's cusrcumstance is different.
