Congratulations on 300 miles! Don't worry about responding to comments. It's our job to send energy in your direction. Seeing your wonderful videos is all the reply we need. As for your pace, the cosmic facts haven't changed:
    The universe is right on time;
    So are you.
Don't worry about what others think. Canada isn't going anywhere. It'll still be there when you get there.
    Be safe; keep at it!
    P.S. -- Nice poncho!

I’m with the others who said to ignore what other people think your timetable should be and keep doing what you’re doing. No need to explain or defend, you’re hiking to your plan not theirs. Don’t let them make you feel slow or wrong. And that you have a smile on your face with no injuries after weeks of desert hiking says you’re doing just fine ❤

The Sierra has had 451% of normal snowfall (the Southern Sierra). I suspect you’ll have to bypass four 12,000+ passes, not to mention 13,200 ft. Forester Pass over the
Kings-Kern Divide! Oh, and the 11,030 ft summit of Mammoth Mtn received 75 FEET of snow. It’s a shame that-because of safety concerns-you will have to bypass the Sierra until the end of summer!
I’m probably amongst your eldest fans-80 years old-when I was at my peak in my 40s, the PCT was not complete. Still, I have no excuse for not doing the John Muir! I DID think my hiking days were over, but with my new heart valve (4-17-23) my docs say I can get back to it. In fact they insist I do it! They say I can do 13,000 to 14,000 ft peaks; 3,000 to 4,000 elevation gain and 15 to 20 miles! I can’t believe it! But I’m sooo happy for a second chance to be in my beloved mountains!
I am really enjoying your videos and I’m rooting for ya! You go girl! 🥰👍🏔

Congratulations 🎉🎉on 300 miles. I just can't get enough of these wonderful videos. Love your narration and I am learning so much from all of you. I am from Southern California and it is shameful that as I am approaching a milestone birthday I am just learning all about the Pacific Crest Trail. I find you amazing and brave. Always sending you good vibes. Looking forward to your next post.

Seems like you have a thoughtful hiking plan. I would believe that having a hiking family is very important too. You are doing great! Congrats on 300 miles ❤

Usually I’m not fond of “talking heads” but this one was nice.😊.
So far you’ve shown us loads of nature and I thank you so much for it. Keep on, I’ll be with you, whatever…😊

Congratulations on 300 miles Ash! You're keeping a wise pace for now and have a good plan! Stick to it! You'll know what to do when the time comes to change it up a bit. Love your dollar store sun gloves! You're so thrifty! I used my cheapo rain poncho in Section G before Cascade Locks mainly to cover my pack and it worked just fine! No shame! 🙂 And, to think that you can edit and post all these wonderful videos is enough for all of us, and more, all while you are doing a thru hike! That's amazing, and there's no need to comment back! You've already given us the gift of virtually hiking with you! Trek on!

Every time you say HELLO at the beginning of your vlog it sounds just like Mrs Doubtfire. Maybe that would be a good trail name.

Congrats on 300 miles. Nice video. Ponchos are very handy to throw on over everything quickly. Stay close to others for discouraging pumas. You have a good plan for mileage. Too many hikers push too hard and get injured. Flipping ahead will make it easier. Consider going to the northern terminus and hiking SOBO back to where you got off. Many of the mountain areas are much easier when the snow has melted. It may also save you on transportation costs. Happy Trails. Good Luck, Rick

You’re doing great! I thru-hiked the AT in ‘21 and I didn’t get too into the number of miles I was doing, especially in the beginning, because I knew I would eventually have some higher mile days when I got my trail legs, and it all worked out in the end. Just enjoy it one day at a time and it’ll work out just fine. Congrats on 300 miles!!
Ps-I used the dollar store poncho on my backpack in rain storms and it helped prevent it from getting soaked. 👍

Great to see your positive attitude on how you are approaching the trail. There is one person in the group that seems to left out. Is she not wanting to be included?

Keep it up 😊I think you are on the pace and the right mind sent, take care of yourself. My days on trail I tried to keep up with faster hikers bad luck for me. The group you are with is great and like it is said hike your own hike.

I think your walking plans are in line with many PCT hikers. Seems like forest fires and snow need to be avoided for safety sake . Glad you started out with a measured pace......better for your long haul!

I did note, not remembering who it was, that someone flipped up to finish in canada then was able to reenter the usa with the customs offical giving a fresh full permit which enabled her plenty of time to flip back ... might be worth checking that out

Ash, was getting ready to ask why your daily mile averages seem so low, 10 to 12 or so? You then started explaining it, hope your group manages to "step" ii up and get into 15 mile minimums , 20 ideal to get to Canada. Pulling for you guys. 😊

You do not look like lunch to a mountain Lion. PCT hikers are too big, scary & noisy. Now, scantily clad, swift moving trail runners? Lunch & Entertainment! PS: you will rarely see them, but you’ll frequently be watched by one. You’ll be fine.
