Abel is the protagonist of SMT Devil Survivor. Not only is he one of the stronger protagonists in a series full of heavy hitters, he's also unique in that he can successfully unite Law and Chaos in the game's final end, speaking to his superior charisma and ability as a leader as well. ...Huh? Fire Emblem?
I have always found funny how, in fe3 remake, game handles you Sirius as a pretty amazing pre promoted paladin in the early game, Cain and Frey as very good ready to go cavaliers and then they screw up Abel like that. Poor guy didn't deserve it
the devs were thinking that a fe3 unit would be viable is modern fe, little did they know, little did they know. In fe3 his bases are actually ok due to stat caps being really low.
Imagine the universe where he wasn't stupid and hooked up with Palla instead; he probably would have joined alongside her or later and possibly been around her tier.
It's even worse for Abel in his ending in New Mystery. Est - who, for context, is his wife - leaves him with absolutely no explanation, and he tries to search for her, only to never be seen again. And honestly, I wish I used him enough to be attached to him and feel bad, but Hardin and Sirius are usually my go-to Cavs, so...I don't, lol.
I’m pretty sure the reason is because she felt guilty as all hell over getting captured and being used as a hostage to force Abel to fight for Archanea. People in FE need therapists badly
Another thing against able in New mystery is when he joins the army your team is already lined up so if you add him good chase he will replace a unit already trained up or just has better bases.
Abel in new mystery is one of the biggest fall from graces in the series. He went from an excelent starter cav in SD, to a laughably bad late join pre promote who is outclassed by every other cav in the game
Genuinely was really upset in my New Mystery playthrough that Abel was actually unusable. I fielded him in a few chapters to try and build him up but I don't think it's possible
I like Abel in Shadow Dragon, he's good lad. However Cain stole the one crumb of plot relevance for the early game goon squad so I favor the red fella a bit more.
Huh, Abel and Cain have completely opposite performances in each of the games. Cain is okay in Shadow Dragon, but amazing in New Mystery, while Abel is amazing in Shadow Dragon, but *terrible* in New Mystery. Kind of funny, given how they're related to each other.
Est deserves better than this loser who would apparently abandon her for PIRATES while her sisters are willing to abandon their post in order to save her. Stahl also deserves better than to be compared to this deadbeat, but im willing to bet Sully isnt a history major
I mean, news doesn’t travel fast, maybe he never found out. He literally allies against Altea in FE3 because Est gets captured (AGAIN) and is being used as hostage against him, until Marth talks him out of it, so it’s not like he’s that disloyal to her.
@emblemblade9245 I mean certainly Abel would find out about his wife and merchant partner going missing first and not her sisters who live in a different country. Like that's just a matter of a shipment and his wife going missing. He's not even really mentioned in Echoes no "oh hey your hubby told us you went missing" Est also leaves him after FE3B2/FE12 and she's better off for it. Happily divorced.
@@TheWizardMusOk, just remembered that Macedon and Altea are both about the same distance from Valencia, I was confusing Macedon with Grust for some reason and thinking that Macedon would find out first. Was Abel even canonically paired with Est before FE3? Like, how explicit is his character ending in FE1 (not FE11)?
@emblemblade9245 yeah Est and Abel got married after the first war and retired to be merchants, then Est gets kidnapped by pirates and Catria even mentions she's a merchant during her support in Echoes.
Similarly to their namesakes, Cain's performance in New Mystery murders the poor panther by comparison.
Oh I get it it’s Christmas cavaliers week….
It's amazing how hard the panther fell off after marrying Est. Confirmed Abel would've been the 2nd best unit if he married Palla instead?
Yes I'm aware the first slide says Cain.
I thought it was the art of gaslighting
Turns out marrying Est puts you on her level. Serves Abel right.

I should stream Devil Survivor Overclocked sometime
I thought he is the guy that died in that one book everyone reads

Named my 1st son after him.

I guess panthers can get neutered in sequels

The superior christmas cav color

Nice Kut-Ku Sensei pic
@emblemblade9245 thank you saw it years ago and knew I had use it as my profile pic.
This dude has been in like 7 games and not once did they attempt to characterize him past "I'm a knight and I think Est is hot."
A majority of the archanea cast is like that. Theres only like 10 characters who get actual characterization

serves you right abel for marrying est
now palla is mine 😈 (it'll never happen)
Just started shadow dragon. Was planning on boss grinding but this man 5% crit the boss and got a +HP level up. What a troll
I JUST ASKED FOR AN ABEL POWERPOINT LETS GOOO
What happened to the dracoknights did the wyverns put them out of business

And only in the prologue, at that!
