If you love it, then it’s worth it. Luxury makeup is best looked at holistically, in my opinion; how it makes you feel, the experience of using it, enjoying the packaging, and the performance. Enjoy it! You look beautiful.
Yes, I also, absolutely agree. Who among us, even those who are very detail oriented and love makeup, is going to discern what makeup brand someone is wearing? It's not like clothing or jewelry. I like the notion of the holistic view; that is exactly how makeup and even skin care affects each of us! I almost never indulge in the high end luxury brands, but, for example, there is a certain Pat McGrath palette (twice the price of this Patrick Ta) which I would LOVE to have and use, and if I ever do splurge on it, I will have no regrets!!
Looking great, as always, Mandy. I'd never be able to justify spending this kind of money on one palette, but I could watch you apply eye shadow all day!
I am so glad you reviewed this! It has been in my cart for a while. I am going for it during the VIB sale! For me this is worth the money because I only have 1 pallet at a time and will use it for a year or two, so cost per wear it is reasonable. Thanks again for the review!
I love the final look!!! There are just so many other luxury palettes I haven’t tried yet! Natasha Denona being first on my list with the Glam palette. If money were no object, I would definitely pick this one up 👍🏼❣️ I am so grateful to have the SG Enduring Love palette and Mel’s palette because you introduced me to their formula!!! It really is next level beautiful❣️
The Alter Ego Shadow Kiss palette (the dupe for the ND Glam) is a really nice palette if you want those colors but not the price. I’ve been using it a ton since I got it.
@@Queenmarie88 Im definitely thinking about getting that one before I make the plunge on the real deal👍🏼Thanks so much for reminding me of that option❣️ That’s what I’m going to do!!! I also wanted to pick up the Metropolis dupe.. Have you tried that one?
@@sandybowers5085 hey No I have not tried that one. I have the Sahara and the Goddess one but not that one. I’m sure it is excellent though. All the ones I’ve tried have been really good. PS check out Allie Glines comparison of the Shadow Kiss vs Glam palette.
The glam pallete isn’t really anything so fabulous. I’d get the dupe if I were you! I bought the ND and I ask myself every time I use it why did I buy it!
I passed this one up. The palette didn’t wow me when I saw it at the store. I really like the Sigma Ambiance palette which is a similar color story for about half the price.
Samantha March recommends the Sigma Ambiance palette over this one. The colors in that palette are beautiful and very eye catching. This palette seems dull compared to that one.
I can tell they are special as you applied the shadows. I wanted it, but kept buying others. I still want it and would have spent less if I got it originally.
Since you asked: I don't think that palette looked any better than some of the other looks you've created with less expensive. That said, you always look great and if that palette makes you happy, then enjoy it. But no, not worth the price tag.
Agree. A few days ago I just dipped back into the 1st palette I bought once I got back into makeup. It's the 25 pan Zodiac palette from BH. There was a shimmer I hadn't used yet was blown away. I had to use very little because it gave such an impact. I had paired it with yet another less expensive palette from Essence. I had to do a lot of blending because I was going for a daytime look but those shadows packed such a punch that it left me with a nighttime look, lol. Think I'll stick to that price point... 🤷♀️
I agree! The look was fine but nothing special. In fact I didn't watch the video I just fast-forwarded to the end to see the completed look because I have no desire to watch videos on high-end products. I know there are much more affordable alternatives so therefore do not waste my time watching the high-end videos.
@@4speedchevy Agree, again, lol. I've seen Mandy create looks like this using drugstore palettes so yeah. So not worth the $ imo. I own maybe 2 mid range brands yet I've created better looks with my drugstore palettes so I'm not big on forking over those types of prices especially for something I won't be able to keep/use forever. Now jewelry? REAL jewelry? That's what I put my $$ towards, lol...
I know it's a little more spendy and neutral, but I love all the formulas and the looks that come out of it are beautiful, classy, and can be dramatic. I love color pallets but this is one of my few and favorite neutral pallets.
This looks great on you! I just cannot get on board with the creams trend. It’s way too much work for what I have time for. I do like the color story, but I also feel like I have these colors many times over in my collection already.
The color story of this palette is exactly what I like and use regularly. The decision for me about getting yet another eyeshadow palette that I can hardly use has become my curiosity about trying out new formulas and in this case playing with the cream shades that for me would be unique. I’ve got enough of this kind of shade to satisfy any “need” I have in this lifetime. I don’t mind the price so much, but it is out of stock at Sephora.
I thought about getting this pallette,it's very pretty. I actually ended up going for the sigma ambiance pallette and that's a beautiful pallette.Nice look though mandy and love that colour top on you. Beautiful. Xxx
The pallet does appear to have something rather special about it but I’m not sure if there’s enough of that special to justify the price tag. I was debating whether or not I was going to buy one of the Pat McGrath 10 pan eyeshadows for $125. Then hooter came out with the rose quarts for about half that. I think I’m really leaning towards the Hwy The for a couple of different reasons the price not being the least of those reasons.
I loved how you applied the eyeshadows. Very interesting to have two creams in a palette. I did like that and loved how you applied them. But the price, I just couldn’t do it.
I think I’ve seen you do other eyeshadow looks that maybe were prettier or mor vibrant with less expensive palletts. I cannot bring myself to pay that much money for a pallett. Your eyeshadow is always beautiful no matter what palletts you use. I wanted to ask have ever used or used Seint makeup and your if you have. Love all your videos. You eyeshadow application is so beautiful I wish I could do that. ❤️Fran
what i love about this palette is not the price! lol But i love the fact that there are two cream shadows in it, and i feel that the shimmers dont show up on camera as well as in person.
Definitely 100% worth it. It's a simple, timeless color story done exquisitely, with an elegant twist in the well-done shimmers... which creates such an elevated e\very day look! I admit, I am a bit biased. I just splurged on it in the VIB sale, but haven't gotten it yet. I too was worried if I had just bought a really expensive version of colors I already had! But the look you created is so elegant, so flattering and sophisticated, but not over-the-top and could be worn to work without looking over done. I greatly appreciate your using both the cream shades!! I was a bit baffled about what to do with them, but you layered cream shade over powder, and powder on top of the cream shade.... seamlessly! I didn't think it would blend out, but it did beautifully! I was going to "write off" those two shades, but now I think I'll actually use them. THANK YOU!!!!! :oD
Ok Mandy you’re making me want to buy this. Gorgeous look, yes, I can see the texture And they look beautiful 😍. I am seriously Considering this pallet, his formulas are Stunning. Thanks so much 💞💞
On camera, it looks like you used ColourPop Going Coconuts. It's stunning, but i'll stick to the ColourPop for now. P.S. LOVE that olive blouse on you!
I do feel the colors and textures came across on camera. Very beautiful look. I would have purchased the palette more willingly around $50. I think almost $70 is just too much. Which is why I didn’t purchase it. But I’m glad you got it since you had been curious & wanting it. Enjoy 😊 hugs, Brenda
Hi @MandyLea , have you tried go a little further up with your transition shade on your upper lid towards the eyebrow? I think it will be great on you to push some of that skin back. Just saying... Love your videos. Have a nice 2022!
I have this palette, I love the color story, I love the way the mattes and creams performed BUT the shimmers kind of let me down a little… I felt I had to really really dig into them to show off on my eyes, I mean I get Patrick Ta vibes are natural and classy… so yes the palette is worth it BUT not worth $60+ (sorry for my rough english 🙇🏻♀️)
You are just so stunning. I think you could go rub dirt on your eyes and I'd think I had to have it. I am going to try this with the bazillion eye shadows I have. I have to remind myself that I have only two eyes to decorate each day!! But anything you show and enjoy makes me want it! I just love and enjoy makeup!
My question would be first of all how it lasted throughout the day, then there's the factor of how easy/enjoyable it was to create the look, and then there's the pleasure of the high-end packaging giving me sensory pleasure all aside from the product itself. So if it's a joy to use, lasts all day and makes you smile when you look at the box, and you can afford it, then yes, it's worth it.
I know there are so many people that love neutral looks and in theory I can get on board with that, however I love a green, blue or purple in a palette. It doesn’t have to be more than one, to satisfy my love of color. That, I think, is why I love the Enduring Love by Sydney Grace. Well, that and their formula. I normally don’t put the colors all over my lid, but I love them in the outer 2/3 of the lid, or as an eyeliner, or lower lash line. That said, you look beautiful Mandy, as always.
The formulas are unique from what I've seen, it is a good one, but yeah...it might seem boring for those who love more color. I really like this palette :)
You talk so much about the Rephyr brushes, but I don't know if I've ever seen or heard how you like to take care of them. Can you do a video or short about brush/tool cleaning and products you like to use to take care of them all?
Mild 🧼 and water. Get the excess 💧 out. Reshape! Lay flat to dry. J&J baby shampoo. Since, there all natural. You have to be careful with creams and liquids.
I use castile soap. It's very gentle but works well. It has oils in it to keep the real hairs in great shape. I use Dr. Bronners castile soap and other brands that are cheaper and the same thing I get at TJ Maxx. They make a liquid and a bar soap! The bar soap is super easy and is great for sponges too! I use the liquid for sponges too tho. I've been using castile soap for years now. I use it as a body wash too lol
Also try laying the brushes flat but at an angle if you know what I mean lol I take a towel and roll one end of it up so I put the brush handles up on the rolled part so the brush heads are laying on the towel. It gives it a bit of an angle so the water gets out of the ferrule which would cause you to loose bristles/hairs over time.
The Sigma liquid soap is fantastic. Lasts forever. In between cleaning I use the Sephora brush spray for daily use. It cleans and conditions and it’s $15 for a whole bottle. Even cheaper now in the sale. It also comes in a mini. You spray a cloth or paper towel, not the brush directly. Both products are great because they have no scent if you have sensitive skin.
The beauty doesn't translate on camera- also the ease of use on older eyes like mine. The shimmers/toppers are very unique in my collection. The price was worth it to me.
I only have about 125 bucks a month to spend on myself but I would definitely get this pallet. It is gorgeous. I love how you do both low price drugstore brands and expensive high end products.. i love my high end and my low end pallets.. that olive top on you btw.
I do see the differences after application. I can see that the pay-off, the quality is excellent. It's odviously not dime store shadow! However, even though I feel it is worth the price tag, I won't pay that much for a pallet, and yes; I purchase Huda, Tarte, & Natasha Denona.
I just ordered that Patrick Ta palette after dreaming about it for months, lol. I have probably purchased 4 other palettes at lower price points trying to recerate this palette, but really I should have just saved my money for the real deal. I can’t wait to get mine - those cream shadows are my jam!
I know I spend alot of money on the cheap stuff trying to get the look or effect of the expensive thing I really want, and I would have done better financially (and time-wise, with all the shopping) to have just gotten the best in the first place!
I think the look is more polished and rich than a Colourpop or other drug store pallette. I may be rationalizing my high-end pallette purchases though. 😁 Great tutorial, as usual!
Hi Mandy, IDK about the price of this palette. The PT packaging is gorgeous and ok there are two cream bases in it, but the Too Faced Born This Way palette is a perfect dupe for half the price. If you want a cream shadow, I'd just buy a paint pot or Laura Mercier eye crayon in a deeper shade as an eye base. I get it, it's an all in one palette, I just don't think it justifies the price.
Mandy, how do you feel after owning the Pat McGrath and ND palettes? Initially, if I recall, you had reservations based on cost. Now that you have used them a while, do you think they are worth it? They sure look nice on you! Once you got over the sticker shock, what do you think of PM, ND, PT etc...?
I wasn’t that interested in this palette until I saw your video!💕 one of my favorite looks of yours💕👏🏻🥰 It’s the sheen on your lids that stands out as special!
Sometimes where you will notice the difference in quality is just the textures of the shadows themselves & the longevity. So sure, maybe you can dupe a look with an affordable drugstore palette but I've always noticed I've had to spend more time building up & blending out, basically working the shadows in any CP or WnW palette only to have the look fade or crease within 4 hours compared to my preferred Indie Brand formulas. I haven't pulled the trigger on any luxury brand eyeshadow palettes because I don't feel they would be 50% better in quality to justify their often twice as much price tag. I'm pretty happy with & brand loyal to the Indie Brands I purchase from ( Sydney Grace, Terra Moons, Devinah, Viseart & Coloured Raine ) so I don't really feel I need to purchase Patrick Tah, Natasha Denona, PMG, etc. Especially not for neutrals which I have in spades already :)
I love love love Viseart, once you try them it's hard to go back to drugstore such as Maybelline or L’Oréal, I also have some beautiful singles from Devinah. I can use drugstore mascara and even foundations and lip products but the eyeshadow have always been terrible since I was a teen. BTW I have the Patrick Ta ,first I wasn't impressed and regretted my purchase, I used it one day when I was in a rush and fell in love, the shadows are so smooth and blend like a dream for quick looks. I still think it's over priced....
I love the dimension of this look💜. I don't have this pallete but I love his blushes and eyeliner so much that the brand is definitely on my radar. Waiting on a more cool toned or colorful palette.
I was waiting on purchasing this palette until the Sephora sale but now it’s sold out. I’m bummed. I wanted to pick it up on sale because it’s so pricey!
I thought the palette was way too expensive. It was the first product I tried from his line. The blushes and bronzers were always sold out as they were what created all the buzz about his products. I have to say that all the textures are very unique. I thought it was too warm for summer so I'm pulling it back out for fall.
I’m more interested in the shirt you are wearing. So pretty. I’m a neutral gal but I just have way too many neutral pallets that are so good and not as pricey or easy to get on sale. The Persona identity, Nabla side by side, ND bronze and even my elf bite size pallets. And then all the other pallets that always contain some solid neutral shades with the pops of color. Not to mention all my SG singles. Now if he did this pallet formula with some color to it then maybe I’d dive in.
It’s a beautiful palette and it makes me want to try it. I have very sensitive eyes and can’t wear some brands’ shimmers (ColourPop- so sad). Was thinking this would look great on my daughter’s light brown eyes. She could probably get the same look from the Going Coconuts palette TBH
My eyes are the same way! Certain shimmers are just a no-go and I don’t know what the ingredient/ingredients are that bother me. I never know if a palette will work until I try it. Ugh! Some mascaras irritate my eyes too. It’s so annoying.
I really enjoy Sigmas Ambiance palette and the difference doesn't really translate to me. I think they are comparable. Sigma is only $19 cheaper but you can usually find a good sale.
This one didn’t tempt me because of the colors but I did spend $67 on the new Huda pallet. I think the packaging and the whole experience makes the more expensive pallets worth the 💵 . That said, everyone has a different opinion of “worth “. I think your makeup looked great today.
I don't think you can really tell the difference on camera between formulas and brands but I will say everything is always better in person!! So I will just take your word!!
I don’t think the different textures translate as pretty on camera based on your descriptions of them…which was very good I think. I’ve been eyeing this palette since it released but haven’t pulled the trigger yet. Ahh yes the puffy shirt from Seinfeld classic and hilarious🤣🤣
What about pat mcgraph palette i spent 140 it was my birthday so i got it for my gift and i got the patrick ta blush palette limited and i am obsessed with both i was going to get the patrick ta palette but i went for the pat palette
Pretty look! But for me on this end of the camera, it doesn’t look as special as you’re experience. Then some things are meant to see in person. Thanks for the review. 😍
I can definitely afford that palette and I do not say that to brag, but to say I was way more excited to get a $20.00 Laura Geller 12 pan palette from Norstrom!! It is absolutely stunning and I adore my $3.99 Essence coral and green palette. What is worth the money? My Natasha Denona Glam Palette!! Oh and my Sydney Grace Enduring Love Palette. I just saw no difference or anything crazy special about that Patrick Ta palette.
Beautiful! But no way would I pay the price. But I’m retired and have a lower budget for makeup than I did a few years ago when I bought anything I saw that I wanted! Ha! But the look you created is gorgeous!
It's a gorgeous palette, but my colletion of eyeshadows is enormous and I am sure I can find dupes I already own. A brown eyeshadow is a brown eyeshadow, after all.
I always enjoy your videos and that is why I click on them. This palette intrigued me, and for a while I had FOMO, however, after swatching it in the store at least three times and taking note that it was yet again a nude palette and it was $68 I definitely walked away from this one. I really wasn’t impressed. I personally prefer Sydney Grace, Natasha Denona, Pat McGrath and even ABH.
I got that palette and I never use it. I hate the shimmers in it. They are so dry and fall aparty. I can’t get that one light shade on the end to pick up on a brush or my finger. The mattes are kinda dry and patchy. I wish I could return it but I got it when it came out and it’s been too long. What a waste of money:(
Hate the packaging, I will not buy a palette that will fingerprint. I think the most I’ve paid for a palette is $49 for an Urban Decay palette and then later found a perfect dupe in a Rimmel palette. Yes, I completely agree formulas are different, but I find that as long as I use an eyeshadow primer I can make most any shadow work. I own Juvia’s Place, BH Cosmetics, Colour Pop, Urban Decay, Mary Kay, Lorac and I’m sure others I don’t remember right now. The one kind of shadow I do not like is a glitter (small or chunky) , probably because I’m 60 years old. I love shimmer & shine shadows. I do full face makeup everyday, it’s part of my morning routine that I’ve done for years. Your makeup always looks wonderful, but I’m just not on board with this Patrick Ta (?) or NaTasha Denona. Thanks for sharing.
I think it's too expensive, and the different textures don't show that well on camera, so to me, it looks like any other palette. The only "high end" product I own is the IT cosmetics CC cream, so I don't really buy expensive makeup. And even if I could afford to, I still wouldn't, because I'm more than satisfied with drugstore makeup. It's come a very long way in the past few years, and I don't think most of it is worth buying...except for the CC cream...but that's just me 😄😂
I love the look and I appreciate your inspiration, but I don’t think there is enough of a difference in the final looks to make it worth the cost for me. But those creams….

I have to remind myself that I have only two eyes to decorate each day!! But anything you show and enjoy makes me want it! I just love and enjoy makeup!
I have this pallet in my Sephora cart and ready to hit that purchase button! Hopefully it’s still available 🤞🏼
I held off on this pallet too because of cost. It was the first thing I added in my cart during the Sephora sale. Can’t wait to get it!
I’m so sad because it currently out of stock but hopefully they restock soon!
@@kelly82485 I don't have those brushes but the towel thing? That's exactly what I do too... 👍🏻
Gosh. Does that include your food?
@@juliecassidy7353 oh no thats just play money
I do see the differences after application. I can see that the pay-off, the quality is excellent. It's odviously not dime store shadow! However, even though I feel it is worth the price tag, I won't pay that much for a pallet, and yes; I purchase Huda, Tarte, & Natasha Denona.
I just ordered that Patrick Ta palette after dreaming about it for months, lol. I have probably purchased 4 other palettes at lower price points trying to recerate this palette, but really I should have just saved my money for the real deal. I can’t wait to get mine - those cream shadows are my jam!
That's my thinking exactly! I would rather have exactly what I want whilst trying to make good decisions still.
Same! I need to learn my lesson 😂
Great tutorial, as usual!
I agree. I love this palette and the shadow lasts all day and doesn't budge. My other shadow and shimmers from colourpop fade away.
That is stunning. Super job and looks just perfect on you!
I would love to see comparison of the born this way and this one
Love this palette !! Did you pick up his blushes too ? I love love them ❤️
Mandy, how do you feel after owning the Pat McGrath and ND palettes?
I bought it to Mandy so we are in it together I've always wanted it so happy early bday to me lol
Yay! I’m excited for your thoughts!
I love the dimension of this look💜. I don't have this pallete but I love his blushes and eyeliner so much that the brand is definitely on my radar. Waiting on a more cool toned or colorful palette.
The Two Faced Born This Way The Natural Nudes would give you a similar look, it has 16 shades and is cheaper. I did like the look you created.
I was waiting on purchasing this palette until the Sephora sale but now it’s sold out. I’m bummed. I wanted to pick it up on sale because it’s so pricey!
That eye look is so pretty on you! I’ve been tempted by that palette but the price is just too high for me.
I thought the palette was way too expensive. It was the first product I tried from his line. The blushes and bronzers were always sold out as they were what created all the buzz about his products. I have to say that all the textures are very unique. I thought it was too warm for summer so I'm pulling it back out for fall.
I would like to see you do 5 looks with this palette.
It looks great. Not sure it's worth the price, though. I love your shirt. Where is it from?
I so want this palette
I’m more interested in the shirt you are wearing. So pretty. I’m a neutral gal but I just have way too many neutral pallets that are so good and not as pricey or easy to get on sale. The Persona identity, Nabla side by side, ND bronze and even my elf bite size pallets. And then all the other pallets that always contain some solid neutral shades with the pops of color. Not to mention all my SG singles. Now if he did this pallet formula with some color to it then maybe I’d dive in.
Very interested on your take beczuse im6thinking of buying the palette
It’s a beautiful palette and it makes me want to try it. I have very sensitive eyes and can’t wear some brands’ shimmers (ColourPop- so sad). Was thinking this would look great on my daughter’s light brown eyes. She could probably get the same look from the Going Coconuts palette TBH
Colourpop looks soooo muddy on me as does ABH. I have dark eyelids and it takes a lot to impress me ND has .... and a few others
My eyes are the same way! Certain shimmers are just a no-go and I don’t know what the ingredient/ingredients are that bother me. I never know if a palette will work until I try it. Ugh! Some mascaras irritate my eyes too. It’s so annoying.
No I don’t see a difference… love your videos 😘😘😘
Beautiful eye look!
I really enjoy Sigmas Ambiance palette and the difference doesn't really translate to me. I think they are comparable. Sigma is only $19 cheaper but you can usually find a good sale.
I am wondering if the Morphe X Jaquelyn Hill and Too faced Born this way palette is similar?
This one didn’t tempt me because of the colors but I did spend $67 on the new Huda pallet. I think the packaging and the whole experience makes the more expensive pallets worth the 💵 . That said, everyone has a different opinion of “worth “. I think your makeup looked great today.
Those creams look great
Dear Mandy is this colour story similar to Colourpop Coconuts?
I’m looking at this and the ND face glam palettes in light or dark? Which would you get between them?
I love your eye look that being said I can't justify that price tag.
Oh my gosh Mandy find me a dupe!!!!!! Lol I love the color story. But the price …… makes me want to cry.
I got close a couple times to buying it but I can’t justify the price!
Beautiful! But no way would I pay the price. But I’m retired and have a lower budget for makeup than I did a few years ago when I bought anything I saw that I wanted! Ha! But the look you created is gorgeous!
What do U recommend as a dupe?? When I say dupe (regardless the palette), I'm just wanting a "color story" dupe...unless I say otherwise.
What exactly is a transition shade?
What blush did you wear?
It's a gorgeous palette, but my colletion of eyeshadows is enormous and I am sure I can find dupes I already own. A brown eyeshadow is a brown eyeshadow, after all.
I feel like I could get pretty much the same shades with my Tartlette pallettes.
What a waste of money:(
Hi Mandy your video came up in the for me page and i gave it a watch. And now im a new sub! You look very familiar are you by chance from Missouri?
It’s beautiful but I don’t know about that price tag and I’m not really a neutral gal
The difference rarely shows up in my opinion. I also think that colors don't often translate well. So I need to see things in person usually.
Patrick Ta vs Charlotte Tilbury? I've been looking at both.
Your eyes look amazing. I wish I could get mine to look even half that good.
