    My grandfather and his father were in the Norwegian resistance during WWII. In the northern of Norway. When I was a child we found German uniforms and grenade boxes in a shed next to the house. Items used as disguise... They were cutting off phone lines and did all sorts of sabotage...My grandfather was my childhood hero.

    The passion eagle eyes has for World War II history reminds me of my own journey. It’s a journey of learning and knowledge that started 40+ years ago and is still going strong today. To be able to visit these sites with his father must make it even more special. Another awesome episode of WWII history. Thank you. And I tip my cap to you and EE, he’s a trooper.

    Beautiful site HH. That the gun mounts were left by the scrappers is a surprise, but at wars end fuel for cutting torches was scarce. From a historical point the trenches and fighting need to be mapped, those you found in another 10-15 years will be gone and that is a shame. The terrain is beautiful. Well done video as always HH, you and EE have done great work and continue to do so, Stay safe and well.

I can only imagine how the people felt when the Germans came to their little church. Thank you HH and EE for this amazing adventure. That was a great find, that second mount looks almost complete - and a bunker oven! And to find those terminal boxes with the combs AND the top plugs in place was a real 1 in a million find. Brilliant expedition and thanks to you and EE for a great day out, really brightens up the day!

  • @northernskys
    @northernskys 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    HH and EE. Thank you both for bringing this amazing place to us. The views alone are truly spectacular. But seeing that first gun mount down near the church was, in itself, amazing, surviving so close to civilisation, but seeing those other two gun mounts, still in their bunkers. And with the gun shield from the second gun just laying there waiting to be put back onto its mount. Truly incredible. That they have all survived this long, virtually untouched, since the day the scrap merchants walked away. Amazing stuff. And those bunkers themselves, the amount of work required just to move the materials to the site, let alone construct them. Mind numbing to think of the efforts to do build all of this. Looking forward to seeing what other spectacular finds you have for us on this journey. Cheers to you both!

    Even after having to work on the farm on a Sunday, coming in and seeing that you posted a new video lifts my spirits. That was a beautiful little church at the beginning and hearing about the Germans being there was a great piece of history you won’t hear from many other channels. Seeing such beautiful scenery you wouldn’t think the footprints of the German war machine would be there. Nice to see the bunker being used instead of disappearing from the landscape. Really nice to all three of the gun mounts. That must have been a surprise to see. Of all the gun bunkers the German built, I wonder what percentage of them saw action? So happy you’re bringing us this fantastic road trip with so much to see.

    Nice hat EE! I am surprised that they left the gun mounts but took the breech and barrels. That would take a lot of work! Very interesting positions and the remaining steel pieces like the median strips are cool. You never know what the numerous people to the area have left behind, but the fact the pieces remain laying around after so many years is astounding. The view to the water from the gun was quite impressive, beautiful! What a huge pile of barbed wire! Thanks for taking us along! Stay safe and stay well!

    The scenery would make being based here a little bit easier don't you think. Although winter time would be brutal. Those gun mounts are still in pretty good shape. Thanks for showing a picture of it ,that really brought it to life. EE you're doing really good in these videos I'm glad you're here.😊

    somewhere along that coast you've got to move mountains of concrete up the hillside with all the metals necessary, otherwise, you'd need rail lines to move that kind of weight items.

    What a beautiful place!!! I'm sure Hans, Friedrich and Wilhelm loved being stationed there. I can totally understand why the gun mounts weren't taken out after the war, they must weigh tonnes, plus the terrain doesn't look like it'd help much to get them out. Thanks HH and EE for taking us to such a beautiful and interesting place 👍

    What a beautiful sight from that hilltop bunker. Surprising amount of equipment still there. What a neat way to historically include your viewers. Hi EE & HH. Just when I think it can't get anymore interesting 🤔, you do it again. Bunkers were amazing to see and the tunnel system looked well laid out. An ideal place to defend those valuable resources. Very obvious that the Germans meant business. Thank you for mentioning us and making us a historical part of your adventures. 😊 EE what can I say, " You definitely help make it GREAT ". What would your Dad do without you. Stay safe and keep smiling. ❤🤗

    Right you are HH, those views are absolutely spectacular. Hi EE, really like your lit hat. It IS surprising to see some of the original German barbed wire fencing still there. Will help make some awesome Shadow Boxes. The 10.5 cm gun base was, like you said, rare for that area and the Regelbau 671. Couldn't ask for a more suitable place to put that heavy duty defense system. Thank you for taking us in the tunnel system. It was also interesting to see some of the communication panels and other artifacts. The Fire/Control Bunker - Lichtstandt sp? was also a rare find. You have such a great reputation, that I am not surprised that the property owner allowed you on their property to share with us. The beast Bunker was like ones you would see in a movie for sure. Sad to see that some of those artifacts didn't get donated to a museum. Most definitely appreciate all your effort and time spent EE and HH to bring us genuine WW2 history. Thank you, thank you EE and HH. Thoroughly enjoyed that adventure. I give you an A++++ 💕

    I had a good friend who was a fmr.OSS operative in WW2, he couldn't say a lot but told me how german guns were sabotaged by using steel wedges placed inside the bores, the crews went to fire the guns, she'll got jammed and blew up. I'll call him Mr. C as not to use his name, he loved blowing up trains, almost got caught a few times and being in german uniform, automatic execution.
