Honestly, the Fiat 500e is really one of the best EVs on the market (used). They have minimal maintenance and don't lose too much of their original capacity (battery management + Level 2 speeds only). Unfortunately my old 2013 Fiat 500e got hit by someone & totalled, so I replaced it with a Model 3. However, I've now just sold my Model 3 to get a 500e again. There's just the fun factor with wheel spin + quirky handling that the Model 3 didn't have. If you have a short commute, it's a no-brainer. But don't get me wrong, Tesla has a much better car for range and autopilot features, but in my opinion it's just a plain boring driving experience compared to the 500e!

I appreciate the comment. That's a great story! Especially, the used 500e value proposition. I think more people will discover that Tesla is not the only EV choice. Less than 2% of new cars sales are EV's. That's a lot of room for growth for All EV manufactures. May the choices be plenty!
Never knew the E existed until I heard it on an electric car podcast this weekend. Got excited. Always wanted a micro was looking at the iq last week. I feel excited. I drive the biggest sedan on the road. Love your pearl white. My car is pearl white. I’d love to have an E to match. Love the price.
It's still the best EV buy out there, for the money. The 2014-15 are the best with the white interiors. Buying "off lease" is the ONLY way to buy! Avoid the 2013's, they seem a little buggy. My 2/2014 build car has been bulletproof. Just as reliable as any Infiniti or Lexus with no maintenance & lot's of free charging. Ciao.

Hello, great review. I am about to purchase a used one here in Canada, imported from the US as they don't sell them new over here. $18.500 Canadian they are asking for it here. Double from what you've paid. About $14,000 US. I love the car and enjoyed watching many good videos like yours. Thank you.
Thanks. Yeah, the Fiat 500e 's were too low for a period of time. Then, people found about them, & they all got bought up. Your paying the current going rate of 12-14K depending on year, mileage, & options. It's still the best overall EV for the price.
Last year I got my self a 2013 500e , I have the exact same interior but Red Orange body, I love the power , but don't let go of the steering wheel or it will jerk it off your hand
I've been doing soo much research on this car. The common problem that I've been reading is how inefficient the battery is when on the freeway and even down hill. Driving Down hill does not make sense to lose power. But geez they are even cheaper than the price you got it for here in California. My choices are between this car and Kia soul ev used.
The Kia Soul EV is one of my top choices tied with the '17-on VW e-Golf. Each has some advantages over each other. I talk about that in my reviews of each. The FIAT 500e is still the most bang for the buck EV and it's proven to be reliable (can't say that about any Tesla). As long as you don't need any fast charging or back seats!
Test drive all of your top choices and decide which is best for you!
@@theevolvingworld I read that QCcharge is currently developing a Tesla charge station adapter for many ev cars including the 500e currently in development . So far I've heard up to a 50kw for the fiat.

This car would be PERFECT for plenty of people (including me) _IF_ it had DC fast charging capability.* That one omission makes it a bad choice for me. True, 95% of the time the range is perfectly fine because my daily commute to and from work and maybe the store once in a while is well under its range. But if I need to go beyond the range, waiting several hours for a recharge is just too tedious (and possibly expensive if it's a per hour charger). Really a nice car otherwise. And used ones are an incredible steal (well under $10000 in excellent shape with low miles).
* The 2020 model does have DC fast charging, but it will not be available in the US.

Yes, I should do a long term review, maybe at three years & 36,000 miles. In brief, my 500e has been bulletproof reliable, something I didn't expect from a FIAT or any FCA car, as all of my other cars in my collection are Japanese. My other former EV's I've owned were NOT. LEAF & Model S. Tesla's are especially total junk (but if you got money to throw away... then by all means) Other EV's that are known to be solid would be: BMW i3, Kia Soul, & VW e-golf. All three I would recommend. But, it's completely up to you & what you need. Cheers.

bought fiat 500e black with only 3800 miles for 10,000 ...oh my god how many miles you got already thats alot ..also watch out the gas filler lock has a plastic latch cheap plastic it snapped off broke from being in the heat i guess
I'd say you got a exceptional deal! ...unless it's a salvage title with flood damage! Mine's solid & flawless. Yes, I did notice the charge port cover is plastic. It wouldn't be an Italian car, if it didn't have some delicate parts. 😀 Enjoy!
Bought an Orange one off of Carvana. Have had it a week or so and my charge door has the same issue. Was thinking about getting it fixed but on the Facebook forum they say don't worry about it that it happens a lot and rain isn't going to hurt it. Bought mine for $8200 with a little over 17000 miles on it. Was supposed to be $9200 but they were have a black Friday weekend deal so I got a $1000 off.
