What a beautiful machine. I love the hard body lines. The angled fenders instead of just curves.
Worked on a bull ranch up in Oregon, ( circa 1988). Had a 1978, three cylinder, diesel, with a front-end loader. That was one sweet machine.
Speaking as the son of an auctioneer, I just love hearing that old school auctioneer chant.
Pretty darn cool Pete, thanks for sharing. I didn't know IH made such a beast until a few months ago when I was doing some research on a 5288.
Hey 1206...did you see the SN# 501 IHC 1206 for sale now on Ebay? Prototype, 1st one, current bid at $13,456...reserve not met yet: www.ebay.com/itm/IH-1206-Diesel-tractor-Serial-501-1st-1206-built-Rare-find-Could-be-yours/253092217400?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D45729%26meid%3Dfa1f0603dc99454c8171e3a6b534e2fa%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D192267853758&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851
Machinery Pete I have now! That's a cool piece of history. Hopefully someone gets that and brings it bad to its former glory. Lots of rare tractors for sale right now.
Okay
Thanks so much Pete good to know that you visit canada
That was incredible thank you for sharing it with us
Thanks for watching :-)
Thank you for filming this sale. Great capture of tractor history.
bigtractorpower it'd be even better if someone knew what a clutch did. Broke my heart to hear them gears grinding
@@nellsonstout7001 that makes 2 of us lol, my heart also hurt when i heard those gears grind
@@loganbeedy5950the engine sounded like a bag of marbles too? Is that just how they sound? It hurt my head
Look just inside the rear frame, left side, in the articulation area. On the bottom cross structure and see if there is a #17 stamped in the steel. If so, I am the one who welded that particular rear frame. If there is another number beside mine, that would have been my welding partner.
That is cool as heck im shoure its u and neet being involved in the history hope your weld holds haha
Awesome mate, IHC were awesome here in Australia.
Not really sure how i ran across this page, but as a crane operator currently, and someone who grew up on old ford 9N, i like it
Thanks for watching Joe!
I saw a Old 2+2.setting in the trees. Made me think back when i saw them working in a Field years ago.
of course its located in my province...of course (we also have the prototype of the versatile Bi-Directional and "Big Roy")
That was absolutely the best Pete !!!!
Thanks for watching Carl!
I figured they would have gone for more than that. Possibly 1 of the rarest IH tractors.
Hey I'm straight south of there in Brandon! grew up on a farm in Miniota, cool to see stuff like this in Manitoba
Bunch of rare stuff in dauphin for ih and older johndeere there is also a 8010 deere without the recall redone on it
Wow that was awesome . What horse ! I would love to drive that baby around. Makes my 4-150 White look like a toy . lol But I still like my White its been a good tractor to me . I don't do a lot of work with it but what I do . It pulls my 6-18 onland 710 IH plow and my 22 ' 490 IH disk and a 36' glenco digger , just great . thanks Pete
Great piece of Red Power history! My local dirt track has an old AC 7580 bareback that is used a few times each season to turn the track, then they grade and roll the clay. I'm pretty sure this is a fairly rare tractor too.
keep on doing these videos. we have a big farm with johndeeres on it. I like when you find low hour tractors
Thanks for watching :-)
I wish I would have known about these being sold... I would have driven over to check them out!
Wow, that opens a person's eyes.
Very nice always like your videos Pete
Thanks for watching!
I have worked in the Farm Equipment all my life and I have never heard of these tractors and I live in Manitoba as well. Very nice, wish IHC would of put them into production!
This were along with the 7288 and 7488 2+2 were being done when ih and j.i. case merged which ment the artics got scraped until case got steiger and put the 9100 put in 88
How bout a nod to the auctioneer 👌 he was in the groove. Love to hear a good auctioneer work👍👍
I've known about these two for a long time and I always wondered why when rare IH tractors are talked about, these are never mentioned
Wow beautiful tractor
Those two large tractors are huge, and must have cost plenty of money to build, and it looks like they are selling for much more than they cost new.
Sidney Mathious see 1 he
great update
To bad we never even heard of this sale and I live 2 hrs away in Manitoba! Would of LOVED to have been there with my Friend!!
gorgeous machines.
Man how lucky was that guy!!👍
waited till my wife was at school so I could crank up the volume...hehe
:-)
jeff robinson wait, what?
A sick son of a bitch
@@jimmypatfish253 lmao
I would have loved to been at the sale!
Wow what was that 330 HP? Dang that's pretty cool that you got to witness that
I'm only 2 hours away from these omg!
Well I wish they had stood back a little to get some pictures of the tractors instead of just the cabs and the people.
Hi Pete, do you know the story on how IH finally released the tractors to be sold when the tractors had a "can not be sold" label on them. Thanks for posting the video !
I still hope they go to work and not be hidden away in a shed forever
I got to that sale after they sold those tractors because I was running late because of a blown out tire
Wow even though I'm an offer man that is still pretty cool
Nice looking machine
iowafarmboy phillipsfarms
What year were they born ?
Wow absolutely amazing if I had the money I would've totally tried to buy these even though I'm a green guy once in a lifetime chance congrats to winning bidder
What dealership where they brought to when he required the pair before they ended up in Manitoba. Wardale equipment?
Nice video
just nice!!!
That motor 😍
Great machinery I that job
Man there beutiful red Machines!'
CAT DIESEL POWER you're everywhere bud. I'd be all over the 7388 if I had the money. The 7788 not so much
those look almost look like big bud
What does the "C" stand for in the name? Engine brand?
International Harvester Company. I think.
Adriaan Verburg correct
YEP, you're correct Adriaan.
CORPORATION.
We're are those tractors today
Way Cool...
They had a 706 crown and pinion in them lol
I know where the third one used to be
Nice
WOW!!!!
sounds like a powerstroke
IHC used their proprietary V-800 V8 diesel engine in these IH-Steiger tractors. The engine developed an undeserved reputation as a dog because the earlier 4X68/4X86 models didn't have a big enough air cleaner or induction stack. The induction system clogged easily, and poor air cleaner maintenance would cause the engine to swallow its own oil.
Looks almost like a Bearcat IV by Steiger.
Wonder how much was still kept from the 86 series tractors components those were notoriously unreliable and hard to manuver hope they changed more than sheet metal and cosmetic looks I'll have too say they are rare birds indeed though
I will put an IH up against any thing in the same class and will out work them any way you want to hook it and do it on less fuel. Any one that doesn't like IH has never put any hrs on one
I use a Farmall does it count as an IH
@@lukebecker1959 yes lol
The Richard Simmons of tractors
The 7788 was 1/3 not 2
Was someone getting their leg amputated without anesthesia in the background...??? lol AHHHHHHHHH!!!!
You’re to wonder how fast he could talk😧
Wow!
Where did it go
North Dakota possibly...
Machinery Pete I had no idea those tractors existed. is there anymore information about them out there. thanks for posting.
tractorman MIKE check out this like from Red Power Magazine:
www.redpowermagazine.com/forums/topic/85192-here-is-a-very-rare-international-harvester-7788/
We owned the other 7788.
Wow. Very cool David! Did you sell it recently? Still own it?
@@machinerypete No we traded it for a ST 470 a couple years after we bought it. I think it’s in the Freeman SD area.
Why do these tractors look alot like Steigers in red and black
Steiger built them
What type of motors in it? Cat 3408?
STUBBY TRACTOR from my quick 5 minutes of research, it looks like it is powered by an IH DV800, the big, bad IH V8.
ih1206 never knew! I'm more of a Deere man but this thing is cool. I'd like for a magazine like heritage power to do a story on this.
STUBBY TRACTOR that's would be cool. There's a thread over on Red Power Magazine discussing these machines
www.redpowermagazine.com/forums/topic/85192-here-is-a-very-rare-international-harvester-7788/
ih1206 thanks!
It was a IHC built , 800 cubic inch V-8 engine, a very short lived engine, not enough bearing area, consequentially crankshaft failure! Very typical of a V-8 diesel.
Where did it end up going? State, Country?
If I was the owner and that was my tractor I would punch the guy in the face who is hitting the throttle on a cold V-8 diesel!
Pete can u post an email indeed to get in contact with you
I have a rare tractor for sale
greg@machinerypete.com
How many Hp?
330 is what they said in the video.
The absolutely depresding part about these is they will sit un used in a shed or museum someplace never seeing the work they were designed to do
gotta be that way friendo…you break em there are no spare parts for em…i know what you mean though
it's a Steger that was made for caseih
Chris Cardoza pre steiger
Trevor Fout
Pre Steiger? Steiger was building tractors well before this tractor was produced.
Trevor Fout Pre CaseIH made by Steiger
True
Wrong
Great looking. But it sounds like a bag of marbles. And seems to shift terribly
Was that a dude bidding with that painful sounding yell? Aagggggghhhh! Lol
That yell was from the ring man or helper. He looks for the bids and yells out to the auctioneer. A lot of them have a distinct "yell" lol
no reason to do the auctioneer "mumble jumble" other than we always did it that way.
It's an art to keep the flow going through the sale. Noy mumbo jumbo if you listen
I was always told this was the model that put IH out of business, piece a junk, true or not?
🎤🛒👉👍
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD LEARN TO SHIFT
You two must be in your own little world.
Sell it n be done stop crying
7788
$177,500. Well...........don't break nothing!!!!!!! BECAUSE THERE IS NOOOOOOOO. PARTS. ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD!!!!! DAMN.........WHAT NOTHING!!!!! THATS THE WHOLE REASON I OWN NOTHING BUT A FORD AND A DEERE........ ANY PART ON MY EQUIPTMENT, A OVERNIGHT DREAM PUFF! Parts to me is the FIRST thing I consider because EVERYTHING WILL BREAK ONE DAY!!!!!! I almost bought a VALMET 90hp 2wd tractor in 1991 from a man named Shelly Swift. But I instead bought a John Deere 2955 85hp 2wd. Now I hear if you need a starter for a Valmet, the building is flat and out of business! They told me you must make your own!!!!! WOW!!!!!!!! I THANKED MYSELF SO MUCH I DRANK A WHOLE BOTTLE BY MYSELF!!!!!
I use an old Ford 9n and a few other common old tractors because it is easy to get parts
Deere is trying to make it so you cant fix equipment yourself and is slowly taking spare parts off their shelves
2:45 how the hell you know they are girls ? Dude put some excitement in your voice good hell i fell asleep
