Coaching makes a difference. A young team well coached, with structure can win alot of games but more importantly the players take a huge step forward in development. Nows the time vancouver has good pieces in place to take that big step forward.
BB, Demko and Miller going to be the back up Petey, Kuz and Hughes need to get to that superstar level. Watch out! I think this team competes for wildcard spot. Few more pieces and I think they’ll go on a run. Defensive defender like a Hamhuis or Salo would be amazing addition.

There have been a lot of successful great players turned coaches. Rod the bod Marty St. Louis Randy Carlyle (played over a 1000 games. 600+ points as a d man) Joel quennville Gallant (600 games played, just under 500 pts Travis green (1000 games played) Some of these aren’t “the best” but still very impressive resumes

SMH Bedard realistically is not playing centre on Vancouver. Would’ve been the best spot possible for him though. Actually getting to play with elite superstar players rather than a bunch of 3rd liners.

Great coaches often start at like youth AAA, move up through juniors, college, NHL assistants, and then NHL. This is how you learn the intricacies of coaching- through ‘reps.’ HOF players like the Sedins, Gretzky, etc are so rich, and so established, they’re not going to spend years learning to coach, starting at the bottom. Which is why they often don’t find success.
Pre-season results definitely matter and are super indicative of how a season will go.....hence why they started the actual season by pumping Edmonton for 8 goals lol. Idiot.
