    The gay magazine editor should not be speaking for the gay community because he is saying gays want to go to a place where there are no straight people at all. It is appalling to me that he said this on national TV when we are battling for marriage equality. Straights have every right in our community as we have in theirs. The dude needs to be fired and his gay card taken away because he doesn't deserve to be a part of the gay community with that close mindedness. That is why we are at the point of where we are in this society.

      The worst people who attacks the gay community are secretly gay themselves. Straight men can't possibly see gay men as a threat especially when it comes to their wives. But I can be wrong.

    Tyra LOVES Gays. and Gays LOVE Tyra. Americas Next Top Model has a gay guy in it right now, and a transexual towards the beginning. She supports the LGBT community 100%. She did episodes to inform people not to please. That things like this actually do happen in the world.

    kinsey scale people. the kinsey scale.
    sexuality is a spectrum. 'gay' and 'straight' are just the polar opposites on the spectrum that people like categorizing themselves into.

    I am gay. I've been out for 30 years.
    Although I don't think going into porn is the best of ideas, there are plenty of gay men who want to make gay porn. Why not give them the work? The same goes for tending bar too.
    If people are going to make money off the gay world then they should admit even on a small level they are part of that world. These gay for pay panelists strike me as "carpetbaggers" who knowing they can make $$$$ off gay folk are more than fine with being gay friendly. But if they had no such desire to make money that way, then would they care about gay folk on any level? It all comes off rather hollow and self serving. That does not make it wrong. At the same time let us call it was it really is.

    At 2:50 the woman says you wake up one morning and start doing drugs. That's completely stereotypical. Porn is not a one way street to drugs. There are many porn stars that don't do drugs and she should not make assumptions

    No, Cleopatra was Greek, GOOGLE IT, it wasnt until the late Renaissance period in which she was depicted as Nubian/Darker skinned, this myth was also perpetuated by Shakespeare....Look up her lineage, her family who ruled Egypt only spoke Greek, refusing to speak the native tongue. Cleopatra embraced the language and announced herself as the reincarnation of Isis.

    I was just going to chime in about Cleopatra being Greek. She was heir to the Ptolemaic dynasty that took power through Alexander's conquest of the territory. Alexander's army was made up of Macedonians and Greeks, so it's likely Cleopatra was mixed Macedonian and Greek. Like many royal families, her ancestors practiced inbreeding, so the likelihood that Cleopatra had any African blood in her is small. Sorry Tyra, a black-haired, British Jew starring as her makes a much sense as anything.

    • @fernrodjr.5726
      @fernrodjr.5726 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Omg yes thank you!!! This is exactly what I am trying to explain to silky and uneducated pet on here lol. Alexander the Great conquered all of the Persian empire (including Egypt). When he died his top 4 Macedonian Greek military generals divided the empire and created new Kingdoms and crowned themselves new Kings. Ptolemy I So her who was a Macedonian Greek man and one of Alexanders top 4 generals claimed Egypt & crowned himself the new pharaoh of Egypt. In Ancient Egypt the royals would commit incest and marry and have sex with their own siblings in order to keep the power to the royal family only. The Ptolomies adopted this idea and practiced it in order to not only keep the royal power with in the family but also to keep their bloodline pure and not mix with another ethnicity and keep their Macedonian Greek bloodline.

  • @MasterChief37
    @MasterChief37 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Come of it, Tyra Cleopatra was not black, there is no evidence to suggest she was even part Egyptian, she was most likely pure Macedonian Greek, as were the six prior generations of her Dynasty leading back to Ptolemy 1. Ptolemy was one of Alexander the Greats companions. Elizabeth Taylor playing her would be far more realistic than a black woman playing her.

    I left a comment on Part 4... but this may be the worst clapping seals segment of all.
    I could pull my hair out. These final guests were specially selected for conflict by the producers.
    Shame? Drugs? Fuck off. Spineless idiots. And an exclusionist gay guy who doesn't want straights in our gay bars.... I'm floored. The straight guys on the panel end up the ones arguing for inclusiveness! Even Tyra argues for segregation?? Whaaaat ?

  • @MageSutek
    @MageSutek 11 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Actually dude, she was not Egyptian at all, not be descent certainly. She was a member of a Macedonian Greek royal family which ruled the Ptolemaic Empire in Egypt during the Hellenistic period, herself being a member of the Ptolemaic Dynasty. The Ptolemies, throughout their dynasty, spoke Greek and refused to speak Egyptian. It was not until she adopted reign over the kingdom of Egypt that she spoke the language herself and represented herself as the reincarnation of the Egyptian goddess, Isis.

    Most gay clubs and gay people welcome straight guys who embrace us. To exclude them would be bad for the gay community. We need more straight guys in the gay clubs not less. Minorities are always better off with integration. Nothing good ever comes out of segregation in a free country.

    That guy from the Advocate is very annoying. I live in a major city and have NEVER been to a gay bar where there are just gay people, employees or patrons. We're all apart of and live together in the same community (as one of the actors pointed out) and bars an clubs are public places. I really don't like the segregation like "oh, I only want to hang out with other gay men", I really don't get it as a gay man myself. I also grew up in a smaller city and the crowds were always mixed as well. If you want to have a gay men only party do it privately, at home or an organized event.

    I totally agree. Whatever the differences between people are, it'll be really difficult to create equality among groups if they keep shrinking away from each other in the name of their "pride" and "community"; it just emphasizes the divisions and differences in society.

    The problem is most people think their opinion of others is more important than how our opinion of others can hurt others. Everyone has done something in their life that they are not proud of. Who wants someone else putting us down for all the mistakes that we have made. The biggest lesson humanity needs to learn is acceptance! The planet is full of war because we find too many ways not to accept others. What a mess we are giving to our children to live in!

    The blonde chick hit it the nail on the head when she said everytime she had sex with those strangers, each encounter with each one took a piece of her and left her with a empty void inside!.......And since the devil don't like us anyway, and wants us to go to hell with him and the rest of the rebellious fallen angels its his goal to try to remove every trace of Gods DNA in us, because the answer is found in (Genesis 1:27)-God made man in His own image, in His image made He man. 10yrs represents change!...Hence her freedom from being a dead sex robot of satan for 10yrs and experiencing all that sin and emptiness!....Tough lesson to learn but her experience, mature date, and her freedom was WELL APPRECIATED!..........WE DON'T MISS OR APPRECIATE THINGS IN AND OUT OF OUR LIFE SOMETIMES UNTIL WE GO THROUGH TRIAL BY FIRE AND THEN GOD SETS US FREE BY AN ENCOUNTER WITH SOMEONE WHO'S BEEN THROUGH IT OR GOD HIMSELF, AND SHARES THE TRUTH. THEN WE HAVE A CHOICE TO ACCEPT THE FACTS OR LEAN ON OUR OWN "STINKING THINKING"!....THAT'S WHY GOD SENT HIS ONLY SON JESUS TO PAY THE PRICE WITH HIS LIFE SO WE DON'T HAVE TO LIVE IN SIN AND DIE LIKE DUMB SHEEP TO THE SLAUGHTER!...HOW DO I KNOW??.....I WAS ADDICTED TO DRUGS, ALCOHOL, AND PORN LIKE THIS WOMAN AND JESUS BROKE MY CHAINS TOO. CAUSE I EMBRACED "CHANGE FOR THE BETTER".....JUST BECAUSE YOUR NOT BEHIND PRISON WALLS DOESN'T MEAN YOUR FREE!......YOU BECOME CHAINED TO ADDICTIONS THAT WILL ENSLAVE YOU UNLESS THEY ARE BROKEN!.....THANKS TO JESUS IM FREEEEEEEE!.....WITHOUT HIM YOUR CHAINED TO SIN AND HENCE A SLAVE TO SIN, AND THAT'S WHY WE NEED ALONE TIME WITH HIM EVERYDAY!........RECEIVE JESUS TODAY AND LET HIM START BREAKING YOU FREE!....JESUS LOVES YOU ALL!...O:-)

    I completely agree, and flirting with customers is something that all bartenders do, regardless of sexual orientation, without any other intention than being good at their job. The "representative" of the gay community implies that a "gay for pay" bartender in a gay bar is wrong because it leads gay men on when in reality the majority of encounters between a bartender and a customer don't escalate beyond the bar counter and are not an invitation for sexual or emotional relations

It's really too bad this opportunity just ended up being used as a way to make a bunch of people look bad and to defensively tote around gay rights like that has anything to do with who wants to do what with who in porn. Gay for pay is actually sought out by a large portion of the gay community. They had these jobs in the first place for a reason.

    Kennedy's argument is that when you're born into a marginalized group, you can develop feelings of self-hatred;gay people sometimes deep down wish to be straight or long to assimilate into mainstream heteronormative society.Yes, when you're gay your attracted to men, whether gay or straight, but at the same time, liking to flirt w/ straight bar tenders/dancers has a lot to do with being conditioned into thinking that being straight is better than being gay, and therefore more sexualy arousing.

It's interesting when I'm out with friends, if one of my gf's kisses or dances with another girl, there is no implication that she is a lesbian or that she is even bi-/bi-curious. It is what it is. I'm gay, but if one of my straight guy friends did the same thing, he would be labelled gay immediately (bi- at the very least).

Wanting to enter a space where one is releaved temporarily from that reality and world of institutionalized discrimination is not wrong. When you see staight people operating and controlling that space, you can be reminded of how few spaces there are for gays to occupy and feel comfortable.

    @tiborhavlik there is a slight possibility that Cleopatra might not have been a full-blooded Macedonian Greek, because we don't know the precise identity of her father's mother. Apparently, grandma was not the wife of gramps, but his mistress (maybe he wanted to taste the forbidden fruit of somebody outside his immediate family, like a cousin). The assumption has always been that grandma was another Macedonian Greek, because the Ptolemies were a bit xenophobic,

    cuz being gay is more than just sex. its more than just "a lifestyle". its the longing and desire to want to be with the same gender, sex or no. its about love, not lust. (tho that usually gives it away. the same with straight ppl. lol) I personally believe that everyone with an open and accepting mind could be "gay" if it was just about sex. cause u put a blindfold on and have someone go at it and ur body is gonna like it, male or female/straight or gay.

    She was almost full blooded Greek which would mean she was caucasian, but living in Egypt she was probably very tan and dark looking.

    @oakilo yeah that is completely true. i phrased it incorrectly. i'm saying that if he's upset with straight guys working at a gay bar, he's wanting a gay bar for only gay men, that's like saying its okay to have straight bars where gays aren't allowed. do you get what i mean? i do personally think it's yuck for the straight guys to flirt to get more tips when they're not interested. But straight people do that too so *shrugs.

    @calderwis
    bartenders do it gay or straight to gay or straight people all the time. It's part of being a bartender, it's not just "straight men" who do it.

    Yah so, she made her point! And if your were listening clearly, instead of misbehaving, then you would get it!

    I'm gay, but personally I don't see any problems with straight bartenders at gay bars.
