yeah... all of them is playable character in League... :) LULU is my cutest Yordles, her role in League is support... one of her ability was shown, she can turn herself much2x bigger and she can make it too in her allied, and also graves turning in to frog, also one of her ability...
She is SO cute! Ash absolutely loved her.

"There is a unit in Warcraft 3 who reminds me of him". Funny you say that, because way back in 2010 the Yordles were called "Mechlings" and supposed to be LoL's version of WoW gnomes. That's why the older yordles look way more human (Tristana, the girl with the canon, and Corki, helicopter guy, for example) than newer ones, who have much more fur :D
The "region" in this is called Bandle City. It is the home of all the yordles and located in the spirit world. If you want to compare them to other fictions you could say they are fairy/fey type creatures. But the fun part about them is their adaptability. If a yordle leaves Bandle City and lives somewhere else for a while, they will take on the mannerism and culture of that place and take it to the maximum. So Riot gave every region at least one Yordle, who kinda represents a caricature of the place. Take Heimerdinger for example. He went to Piltover, which is all about inventions and knowledge, so he got really into it and became a professor, leader of the academy and head of the council because he represents their values that much. Lulu, the one with the big red hat, is the representative of Bandle City itself: Very quirky, connected with nature, magical, full of mischief and creativity. (I love how you called her companion a "goblin fairy" :D )
The cinematic doesn't focus on Bandle City that much, because their cards invented a new type to build a deck. It's called "multi-region". Some Bandle City cards have multiple regions from the get-go. Eg: Teemo, the guy they were trying to save, is from Bandle City and Piltover/Zaun. This leaves you room to include another region and you can still use all Bandle City cards, even if they have a secondary region that's from another place. So this expansion offered you a lot more combo potential and is more about the mixing of different places than just Bandle City itself.

"How could you not want to play Teemo?" Oh gosh, you just opened a can of worms there :D Teemo is the most hated character in the entire game. He is sooo unfun to play against. He can make you miss all your basic attacks for a while, entirely disabling the person playing marksman or other attack based champs, poison you and he has a lot of invisibility on himself as well as on traps he can place all over the map. So while running around you will just stumble from one trap into another while slowly dying to a damage over time effect. It just feels so bad. Of course there are ways to get rid of the traps, but that requires some team coordination. So Teemo is really good in solo play of lower ranks and gets more useless the better the team plays together. Picking Teemo in pro play is just a meme at this point. Riot even gave Teemo a devil skin and one Halloween they released a PvE gamemode with a gigantic devil Teemo as the final boss. That was a lot of fun :D
Doom Bots was awesome back in the day. As for who wanted to play Teemo, that was me back in 2013-2014. I got absolutely destroyed as Garen vs Teemo mid who would pop up out of nowhere because I was not good at looking at the minimap. I looked up who this tiny terror was and noticed I had exactly 450 (not RP, but the other one. IP? LP?) so I got him and he was my main until I switched roles. My absolute favourite botlane pairing of all time was when Rengar first came out. I duo-ed with a random person who said their Rengar support wasn't a troll, so we rolled with a Rengar Teemo kill lane. The only thing more unfun to play against than Release Rengar constantly jumping out of the lane bushes every time his Q came up, was doing it while a Toxic Shot and blind makes sure you can't trade with him while he runs back into the bushes.
