- The NFL announced several new rule changes for the upcoming season including the controversial "hip-drop tackle" being banned. I'm sure the refs are happy at least.

“Touch grass”

That's a good one 😂😂
Already underrated comment 🤣
It's ok, @@jlinn12....I took it to 666, so we're good🤣
Bravo 👏
@@micahnewby7964 I don't understand why people care about that number one way or the other. I mean, I understand the pretext, but it's 2024.
So happy for Refs fans. This is exactly what they needed right now.
Fr Chiefs Fan’s Lucky Asl😐
As a Chiefs and Refs fan I'm over the moon. I can't believe this is my life.
Chiefs fan here and I'm already celebrating the 3-peat
@@BillsFan2020 Or maybe, others should adapt? You talk like it's another easy route to the Super Bowl.
Who will the refs play in the super bowl
I mean, isn't the delight in Ref's eyes worth everyone else's suffering?
Man the refs are gonna have a field day...flag after every play 😂
No Fun League for a reason
No
As a Refs fan I'm thrilled with our continued dominance.
It's all rigged anyway
“Back in my day it was the LEGION OF BOOM now it’s the legion of boop”

As a 12, I can say we've been saying this for a while
@@Aussie1276that has to suck man lol. NFL is falling
Booping the snoot, random number defense, 15 yard penalty, automatic first down, random number defense is disqualified for the remainder the game (And suspended for the rest of the season).
The Ravens fan reaction to the Titans remembering they don't have Derrick Henry anymore is accurate. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
For the most part yes but tbh Derrick should have left 4 years ago. We always did him dirty
Never leaving the screaming the street
4 years ago we went to the afc championship we paid him 4 years 50 million how is that dirty?
The Ravens fans wanted to throw the ball and wanted real wide receivers, then they had like 5 first round wide receivers that they were SO proud of, and then along came the AFC Championship game in which Lamar and his coaches WANTED to showcase Lamar and how well he has progressed into a pocket passer, and then Lamar sucked very badly (big surprise), so their answer was to go out and get Derrick Henry - as if the problem was that they just didn't have a competent running back (they actually had THREE competent running backs in that game- and another on injured reserve). The problem was that the coaching staff and Lamar Jackson thought they were so good that they thought they could CHOOSE how to win the AFC Championship game. They wanted to show everybody how good of a pocket passer Lamar was, they wanted to prove that he was as good of a pocket passer as Mahomes. BIG FAIL. Acquiring Derrick Henry doesn't fix or even erase how incompetent the Ravens coaching staff AND Lamar Jackson are. Their heads got too big, and that is Lamar Jacksons biggest flaw, his head gets too big, and then he proves to everybody how he really isn't very good after all.
@@rf5390 That was my interpretation too. Lamar and the coaches looked like they wanted to prove he could match Mahomes in the air. He's had a chip on his shoulder since college with people calling him a glorified running back, and to his credit he's come a long way as a passer. But he needs to accept that there are times he will need to use his legs to bail him and his team out, he's just not good enough (yet?) to be solely reliant on his arm.
"You know some people thinks this makes the game more complicate, they're right"
Bruh ☠☠☠☠☠☠☠
NFL is tweaking on these rules. Cocaine and Weed need to be put on hold
Ref getting his own reaction video… I never thought I’d see the day.
Why do i get the feeling the NFL saw how there wasn't that many high scoring games last season and went "oh let's fix that" by completely destroying defense.
So dumb. I don’t know what they’re thinking. If it’s only called on egregious tackles, MAYBE it’ll be ok, but I get the feeling that’s not how it’s going to be called.
Did they miss the 63 and 70 point games like 😭
Besides injuries that was another reason that’s also why they want to change the kickoff rules
@@goldenageofdinosaurs7192 they said it'll be enforced like forcible contact with the helmet penalties in that they don't throw flags as much but they fine the players after the game
Uh.... I'll take what happened to the 70-pt steamer that go dropped on the Broncos by the dolphins and that other 63-pt game. Frankly When the refs AREN'T interfering teams start scoring more (see: anytime the Lions & Seahawks face off for whatever reason.)
"Oh yeah, we are definitely going to screw the Lions." 🤣🤣🤣
As a lions fan its gunna happen anyways.
@@derekswift8674 Just in even more innovative ways now.
Sad but true
If this costs us the Super Bowl I am going to lose it
@@Mr.X2188it probably will, as a lions fan I have a feeling. better mentally prepare
Refs: like we dont have enough calls to piss off people, now we got more ammo
Who needs ESPN and we have Tom Grossi 😅😮
Evolution can go in reverse
Need to pump up DraftKings stock.
The fact NFL owners would rather make defense nigh impossible then transition to grass fields is absolutely crazy to me
They’d rather not spend their record profits on such things. Maybe a fifth vacation home will be more suitable.
If I were commissioner, every single decision and every move I make would be for one reason:
To fuck over owners. And benefit players.
@@sportballotaku2139 then they would fire you Iol
This a grass field issue aswell, the NRL in Australia ONLY plays on glass field and before the hip drop tackle ban the league was losing a player every other game to hip drops
Plus they added more games and Thursday night.
week 1, as a protest, defences should just refuse to do anything, just let them score on every play
Honestly.
Yeah
Was thinking the same thing
"Don't get too excited, Steelers fans... if that ever happens to Justin Fields they're not gonna call the penalty." God damnit Tom, stop reminding me! *_A FREAKING SIXTH????_* It's ok I'm fine...
Being a Bears fan is just plain masochism.
Yeah a freaking sixth. And the Steelers somehow STILL overpaid.
I said it in the chat... it feels like this was made to substitute the need for natural grass fields...
"If players can't be tackled... they never have to land on our cheap turf fields."
“Legion of Boop” is one of the funniest things I’ve heard all year hahaha
"Can't we just play on grass?"
"No because that would cost us money"
If people hated that the “Chiefs get all the calls” before, they’re gonna hate how this turns out even more. 😈💀
To be accurate, those people have selective amnesia about penalties.
They won't get away with a three-peat, write this down
lol anyone who says the chiefs get all the calls simply don't watch the games. Chiefs had the most yards removed from bogus penalties last year and in every playoff game there was at least one, sometimes two, touchdowns negated by a phantom holding penalty that was called after we scored to keep the game close.
Not to mention. How often they get marked short ofthe line to gain. Reid used to challenge those (and win). Now he doesn't waste the red flag. 3 bad spots and even if you win all 3 challenges, you are out of challenges.
As a Chiefs fan we were one of the most penalized teams. But we do get all the calls. The calls for "TOUCHDOWN!! KAN-SUHS CITY"!!
"Everytime I leave the screaming street, I go right back!" 😂
This is crazy. Does anyone else remember playing tackle at 12 years old being taught that the hip drop is the safest tackle for defenders and offense? Head up waist tackle is what my coaches said every day and no one ever got hurt. This swivel bs is an excuse for popular runners landing a weird way to get penalties when they get hurt. Injuries that could happen on any type of tackle
Detroit (and the surrounding suburbs) vs The Refs….. our favorite Sunday tradition. I felt that “oh yeah we’re definitely screwing the lions” a little too much. 😭
You might want to edit this. Not JUST the surrounding suburbs, the whole state of Michigan (minus some UP yokels that root for the cheese heads). I'm on the West Coast of Michigan and we are pretty diehard Honolulu Blue Kool-aid drinkers!
Bruhhh 😭
It's my least favorite Sunday tradition.
Who needs ESPN? We have Tom Grossi 😅
Tbh it's sad that my favourite youtubers now just fan ESPN reaction bait for controversy. Who needs ESPN when youtubers can fall to read new rules a aswell
As a Lions fan, why draft defense now if we're just gonna get flagged for playing defense?
if safety is their only concern, give the defense giant cloth shields to ram players with, this is getting ridiculous. just go all the way and destroy the game and make is a clownshow
REFS CANT BE STOPPED 😭😈
Best team in the league
The refs got a chubby from this. 😂
Prepare for the next 'worst season' of ref calls. And some actually wonder why defensive tackling has gotten worse.
Can't wait to see the graphic for the "Lions getting screwed" counter.
I feels the 12s. Nobody asked for this rule and yet we got it. The NFL needs a new commissioner.
Edit: How did this blow up I'm so confused
Especially after the atrocious refereeing from last year too. WTF Gooddell?
The owners vote on the rule, not Goodell. Blame the owners that voted for it despite the NFLPA being opposed to the change.
When you have millions in guarantee money you have to pay when one of you players get knocked out 2nd game of the season for the year you vote yes on new rules.
@@nathanlarson6535that’s the sad part. To the owners, it’s a lot more about the money than the safety.
Gino got hip tackle near the sideline and he got injured and he so pissed off, do you forget ?
Every single play is gonna be a flag.
That ....*Oh* for the Titans I feel just killed me again...
Same
A Packers super fan calling out the fact that Justin Fields not getting any flags when being hit after giving himself up.. or getting hit late after having thrown the ball.. or after running out of bounds is funny 😅
"How is the defense supposed to defense?" Accurate question. They wonder why guys were afraid to tackle last season. I think it's gonna be worse this season.
And of course the refs are happy.
Honestly if defensive players just stayed on the sidelines the 1st couple of games to make a point I wouldn't be mad
“Just a quick question, how is the defence supposed to defence?”
😂😂😂 That had me rolling on the floor 😅
Refs seeing the new rule: Oh I'm gonna be INSUFFERABLE this season. Now my only question is will this affect the venmo payments from the Packers?
Live slo mo? Isn't that the Panthers offence?
You get a flag! You get a flag! You get a flag! You all get a flag!! 🎉
Never let it fail, the NFL will alwaaaaaaays take adding an extra penalty that they themselves created the hype and drama about rather than actually fixing the game in any meaningful way that the Players and Fans want.
This might just be another Tuck Rule situation where enforcement of the rule is nonexistent for the entire regular season and then a player gets heavily benefitted from it in the playoffs, leads their offense to like 9 points and then they win the Super Bowl because of it.
4&1 mahomes hands it off to Pacheco. Runs outside towards the 1st down marker and he's tackled just short of the 1st down. Oh but there's a flag
YOU GET A PENALTY, YOU GET A PENALTY AND YOU GET A PENALTY! EVERYONE'S GETTING FLAGGED TODAY! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Legion of Boop had me dying 😂
The Lions bit was hilarious!
…..and probably also true.
Thanks for that! 😂😂😂
Lions fan here. That was SOOOOOO accurate 😢😂
This is gold!
Also I love that the screaming street is now lore.
Legion of Boop is the underrated gem of this skit.
This goes to show how much trust the OWNERS have in the officiating.
Could you imagine Dick "Night Train" Lane, Chuck Bednarik, Dick Butkus, The 70's Steel Curtain, or Madden's Raiders in this League?
You don't even have to go back that far. How about the 2000 Ravens?
London Bridge as the background music was perfect!!
I’m glad you understand Bears and Lions fans.
The Legion of Boop💀
"The Legion of Boop" XD XD
This might be one time the refs actually HATE a new rule lol. As if the game wasn't confusing enough... Like, they don't have live slow mo... Lol
You say that like they get penalized for bad calls and don't seem to enjoy making them.
I love how you included that bit about the Lions because that’s exactly what I thought when I saw the rule lol.
As a Lions fan, this is painfully accurate. That was my first thought...
The refs are having a field day with this one 😂
A field with no grass doesn't really count as a field.
@@lomax343 😂😂😂
As the Titans fans have a street day.
That seahawks bit is so accurate😂
A few star players got significantly injured from hip drop tackles this year. The NFL voted against it because they make more money with the best players on the field. But god forbid fixing the horrible field conditions like met life 🤷♂️🤦♂️
As a Lions fan hearing this made me think another one for the penalty highlight reel. Great content as always.
“I think this just goes to show how much trust everyone has in the officiating” yeah about that.
Tom quick with the videos again! This man truly deserves all the accolades!
These are my favorite TH-cam videos, thanks Tom.
I can't wait for Super Bowl 59 between the Chiefs and the Lions to be decided by a Hip-Drop Tackle penalty.
Just one more way for refs to throw games for the Gambling Industry.

The Jets parts in this were perfect. Amazing work as always Tom
Top shelf work as always Tom
The Lions are screwed
1:24 and you know it's going to be vs the Packers.
Legion of Boop! 💀☠️
much love for Tom.
A lot of effort put into these videos. Well done man
How the hell are the defenses supposed to defense now?
Banning hip tackles is cowardice.
It’s even more cowardice when players have to retire after their knees have been forced into the turf and have an acl torn
@@pedroa.c7902 risks of the profession not like they are in fighting overseas

Seriously?! Can't they just make every stadium grass? It cannot be the much of an expense for a multi-Billion dollar company!
Right? Like the local high school can pull it off but a multi billon dollar corp cant...
I agree with the NFL fan.
"Whatever happens to Justin Fields, they're not going to call the penalty." LOL!
The Panthers and Lions reactions were great too
“We are definitely screwing the Lions”
Does this bet exist on Fanduel? I’d fucking take that shit in a heartbeat. Take my paycheck.
Calling it now, first game deciding call will be Lions vs Packers as Hutch hooks the outside on a critical 3rd down.
As a Chiefs fan, i too am excited for another subjective ref call that'll make us more hated somehow.
Yay?
As a Titans fan the Derrick Henry joke is so true. Now he's gonna run over everyone even worse than he has the last 8 years. 😂😂😂😂 (And ofc they have to change it after he leaves TEN). 🙄
Glad you pointed out the obvious. It will 100% help the chiefs in the most annoying way possible. Now they don't even need to rely on bs pass interference calls, now they have calls like this during the play.
I can see it now - Chiefs down by 6 with a minute left in the Super Bowl. It's 4th and 12. Mahomes finds Kelce over the middle and he gets dragged down short of the 1st. Then boom, hip-drop penalty, 1st down Chiefs, and Mahomes hits Hollywood Brown in the end zone a couple plays later for the 3-peat. It will be beautiful 😍
Roger Goodell You need to resign now
His bosses wanted the rule
@@StephonLove208 I thought he’s the boss he’s the commissioner

It was so funny when Perna said “let’s just get rid of Defence all together, and just have quartbacks passing the ball to really fast runners all game.”
