Dry ports or Inland container depots(ICD) in proximity to sea ports could be game changer in reducing the costs of products and making them more globally competitive provided the investments in Dry ports are accompanied by robust investments in railways and also in highways of the country as has been planned under the Bharat Mala initiative. The fact that about 15% of the manufacturing costs are logistics expenditures signals the loop holes in the key transport and storage infrastructure in India. The reduced expenditures in booking vessels by manufacturers through warehousing their cargo at dry ports would help bring the overall cost of cargo in the global market and make them more globally competitive and thereby giving them a silver lining in international markets.

Last year I been to nhava shevaPort , being one of the largest busy port in India , they don't even have well constructed road which delays the operation and increases risk , road connectivity needs to be improved
