for all the people who don't see their new template in the page section is because you work on the draft not the live theme, try to add your template via the theme that is in live(public)

have you ever had issues with the created template not saving? the preview shows your works. but once you assign the template to the page, it defaults to an original/or doesn't show your work. Have you had this issue before?

I am not sure if you still look at this videos comments but I need your help! So I did as you said creating a template for a collection. My issue is if I use that template for multiple collections, how do I make the content inside of those new section different per collection. e.g same template on 3 collections with a rich text box, but I want the actual rich text (content) inside that section different on each page. Hopefully I have explained it right ...

Am i the only one that sees a problem with the way the template works? say you want to add a new section in the Products template. Then you'd like to update this new section with different content for each product, you can't. When you create a new section that section has to be updated in the Templates section not the product section!

For this case you should use metafields, as those can be customized on a per product basis.

my set up looks entirely different. no matter where i am on shopify, there is no buttons at all to ad sections, collections, or blocks. ive been stuck at this road block way too long now. theres no reason its this difficult

make sure you are doing it in the template part not the header part, it makes sense, i was doing the same thing
