Really cool little radio. HDFM is not a term I was familiar with but it sounds amazing! Lots of features and very solid build quality too. Good find! Made in England...who knew? Coincidentally, I was looking up CRYSTAL RADIOS last week. They are made with a coil of wire, a resister, a capacitor and an earpiece. They need no power supply, not even a battery! (they are powered solely by the transmitting radio waves from the broadcast station) They are also called a foxhole radio (or maybe that's a similar build??) TH-cam has them. They were made by radio-savvy soldiers during WW2 and are now being built by hobbyists for a fun project that actually works! Nice radio review, Steve! Another fantastic show and 100% watched! Cheers
I have one of them big toolbox radios made for Dewalt and it’s in the basement at the camp just accumulating dust. That looks very solid and plays cristal clear. Very good selection for your shop. I have an old radio that we got from Sears in the day of the big stereo systems and it’s good enough for when I use it. I usually turn on the TV when I’m in there for a while…..CHEERS
Hey Steve thanks again for an awesome and interesting video - today I purchased a HD FM radio from Amazon however could not find the Christie brand shown in your video - can’t wait to have static- radio lol cheers Edit: static-free radio
The fact that it's made in England is pretty cool. It looks old-fashioned. The high definition FM is a nice option. And that's too bad about the young Canadians trying to make ends meet. Thank you, Canadian government, for taking care of our future generation.
Hi Kenny Turns out after filming its made in China but it's still awesome. Seems everything electronic is assembled in China. I really like the little radio.
Hi Steve - very cool how am stations are clear and free of static! About time 😂 strange to me how am 1010 is 99.9fm though - great review thanks and happy Father’s Day - cheers
How's she goin'? That looks lie a nice radio Steve. I like the looks of it too. Kind of retro a little bit eh!! I like it!! I have never heard of HD FM but that's OK by me!! Take 'er easy!!
@@SteveRobReviews I have heard that some FM stations broadcast the song title & artist and their station call letters and some radios can display this on the screen. I wonder if that is HD?
@GrampiesWorkshop This portable one I have is the same in vehicles that offer am, fm , sirusxm , the HD is a combination of am/fm that can display 3 channels on one channel number . It's pretty cool.
What are you listening to on AM radio? I'll occasionally listen to the hockey game on AM and the wife likes to listen to classical music on CBC. That's a really nice radio, especially for the price. my current garage radio is about as big as that Milwaukee one and I'm doing some rearranging out there to try and gain more space. I'll keep that one in mind
I like the retro look of it👍 First time I hear of AM broadcasted in FM! Thats awesome!!
Good one Steve✌
Hi Marc
Yes, absolutely, most of the local am is broadcast in HD-FM format . Have to check what's available in your area.
Sounds great Steve. Finally something with proper English clear instructions. Perfect for your shop Buddy!
Hi Doug
HAHAHA, so far I'm liking it a lot.

Hi Craig
HD radio is not well known but does sound a lot better than AM.

@@PAPATexas Hey, Papa Texas 😃👋
@@SteveRobReviews That is awesome. It sure is a pretty little thing ❤

Hi Mike
I didn't know either, but when I bought my truck, there was an option for a HD radio and I thought it meant heavy duty 😅

Am talk radio stations at times as music on am is horrible at best :) They are producing new vehicles without am now .
I just Have The Maid Sing For Me... Way Cheaper... And she even has a Cute Back door Like That one. Lmao . Be Safe Dizzy.

HAHAHA yes it does.
Does it get WKRP?
Cincinnati, absolutely 😅👍
Instructions in real English .... written in a snobbish and condescending tone, perhaps? Lol.😊
HAHAHA .
