THE BOYS Season 2 Cast Preview Panel - C2E2 2020

- Karl Urban, Erin Moriarty, Antony Starr, Dominique McElligott and Laz Alonso took the stage for a panel on The Boys and gave a few hints on Season Two. They spoke about the impact of the show and answered fan questions.
The Boys has been a great hit on Amazon Prime and shows a gritty, realistic view of superheroes. Based on the comic book, it covers all kinds of adult themes and the darker side of society.
Karl Urban plays Billy Butcher on the show, who is out to destroy Homelander, the leader of the Seven. This amazing actor is also known for playing Leonard “Bones” McCoy in the recent Star Trek movies, as well as roles in Thor: Ragnorok, Almost Human, Dredd, Lord of the Rings and Xena: Warrior Princess.
Erin Moriarty is Starlight on The Boys, but also had a role in Jessica Jones. She also appeared in Red Widow and in Kong: Skull Island.
Antony Starr played the powerful Homelander, but also had roles in Banshee and American Gothic, to name a few.
Dominique McElligott is Queen Maeve, but is known for House of Cards, The Last Tycoon and The Astronaut Wives Club.
Laz Alonso plays Mother’s Milk on The Boys, but is also known for Avatar, Southland and L.A.’s Finest.
The Boys returns for a second season in July 2020.

The show would not work if Homelander had been miscast. He kills it.
Anthony Starr is amazing in every scene.
tinwoods I see what you’re saying here but Tom Cruise is type-casted a lot. I think that’s why you just see Tom Cruise as himself in every movie lol he’s always playing the action guy. Where as after seeing Anthony Starr as Homelander, I couldn’t see anyone else filling the role. He steals every scene he’s in. The whole cast of this show is perfect 👌🏼

@tinwoods you think it would work this way, but it is not true - check susan sarandon in dune series. it is rubbish my friend. Antony Starr steals every scene, a lot of people think he is the main character, why he should clearly be supporting role, that is how majestic he is in those scenes, and that is extreme talent and dedication, because you can clearly see he is working his ass off in hope for bigger roles, which should come to him soon

Anthony and Karl are like the disruptive kids in the class that really shouldn’t get along but they both connect over annoying everyone else in the class.

But they under utilize him, he's always a side character or pretty much a dummy in all the movies, which is what I hate. Andy Serkis played the King Kong himself, Ceaser, he was revolutionary in LOTR as gollum, he's in the marvel universe and he's gonna be Alfred in the new Batman movie. Karl had to get a role to do him Justice if he has to compete with Andy Serkis.
@@amaananver135 Andy Serkis is a great actor but his best work all relied on talented artist who they themselves are a part of his success. He's a part of the MCU but a very forgettable one at that. Urban has been great in everything I have seen him in. Put them side by side in a movie with no effects and Urban would eat him alive acting wise.

She’s very introverted anyways I’m sure they were scared to since she’s kind of scared of these events but whenever she did speak,it was something intellectual or what you wanted to hear

Also, check out Erin's body language whenever Anthony speaks, she's not a big fan, that, or I might be reading too much into it.

Bo Warner- hey buddy, did you know that “looks so much like” is not the same concept as “looks like a carbon copy of”? They look similar. Lena has sharper features but she’s also almost 14 years older than Maeve’s actress. Don’t be a dumb dumb.

Hehe he probably got more stunts and physical works done in Banshee than in The Boys.
Antony Starr would be great as Eobard Thawne for cinematic universe of The Flash film. He just brings his real-life personality to his character in The Boys and can do that easily for Eobard Thawne. He bring those different layers and if he gets cast as the Reverse Flash/Eobard Thawne. He can easily play a sociopath, psychopath, he can show innocence, vulnerability convincingly like he does in The Boys.
I hadn't thought of that, but now that you mention it, it would work brilliantly.
@@FandomSpotlite If he doesn't get cast as Eobard I would go with my second choice Matthew Goode from The Watchmen who portrayed Ozymandias. He is another amazing actor that has this kind of sophistication and easily play a sociopath easily. If he wants to be ruthless, he can turn on that switch easily.
@TMPanos96 Matthew Goode is another amazing actor who can play Eobard Thawne. He can bring that complexity, sophistication like he did for Adrian Veidt/Ozymandias in The Watchmen.

Antony is kinda clumsy. I was here for this by the way! About an hour or 2 before this, I was next in line to meet him, when he accidentally knocked over his coffee. He just finished taking a photo with a couple of fans and backed up the wrong way. So when he had his clumsy moment during this, I was in the back laughing my head off.

I met Karl Urban at this event. Such a chill guy! I grew up with the Judge Dredd comics, and it was so cool to talk about them with Dredd himself. Hoping he comes back to C2E2 someday!

Banshee is one of my favorite shows ever. I have literally recommended it to everybody I know on multiple occasions. Anthony Starr was amazing in it!

What I love about the Boys is it basically portrays everything that Captain America was concerned about when it came to signing the Accords. I know it takes a ton of queues from DC but that concept they left unimagined in Marvel is what I love that The Boys nails.
The Boys kind of fill the void of the Avengers no longer being assembled. Love the ensemble interviews.

@@greengoblin4life it was one of those video channels that talks about the cast of shows, says like what their age is, who they're dating or married too at the end of it it said her and the guy who plays black noir there is little known about cause they like to keep private That's why you rarely see them doing interviews or conventions.

Well, Laz is a bigger guy than the rest, but Karl is taller than the rest of the cast, except Jack. They both are roughly 6‘1, while the rest of the cast is 5‘10 or shorter.
