In my favorite playthrough of the game when I was really trying to roleplay and give everyone their own personality, I took Ray's rebelliousness and ran with it making him a formal leader of a group of anti slavers trying to lead a slave revolt from the inside, which was the real reason his tounge was cut. When i rescued a few hiver slaves that then joined us I RPed that they had been Rays former followers. Ray then came up with hand code to speak with his trusted men and lead many a slave revolt.
Poor Burn, I traveled my way through Mongrel into the Purple Sands region to avoid dealing with the Holy Nation as I had already attacked a Holy Mine. Ended up finding Burn and because he had a place for my companions to rest I recruited him. Healed up and went down through the ruins of the Floodlands until reaching Wend. After visiting the Armor King I eventually landed right in Okran Territory, my group was immediately ravaged by roaming Paladins and their Holy Servants. Several people were imprisoned, my main guy lost the Meitu ninga blade. But everyone still made it out, except for Burn who had been locked up in Blister Hill. After losing several attempts to escape I focused on making sure everyone made it home safe back at the Hub and by the time everyone had made it back Burn had been killed, I didn't even see it happen. I felt so guilty taking him from his peaceful solitude at his tower just to be executed in the capital of the Holy Nation.
Headshot and Ruka have a cool little argument in which Headshot taunts Ruka for losing her horns, meanwhile Headshot willingly removed hers because she just wanted hats to fit lmao. She also has a lot of lines about Mudtown. It’s a shame though, as after her lines get used up, she doesn’t really ever use them again.
The wiki doesn’t include so many unique dialogue moments like Headshot making fun of Hamut and Ruka. Also Ells has some unique dialogue talking about how his mom
Agnu is one of the best companions, he is also the only Soldier Skeleton you can get. Plus he is a Skeleton so after you get their toughness up enough, they're pretty much impossible to actually die so having a few skeleton's in any party is great, having one that starts with this much strength while also having Beep Co-op Dialogue makes him almost perfect. His high strength allows you to give him a respectable heavy weapon literally out of the gate. Preferably a plank or fallen sun works best for Agnu.
Yesssss. I know it’s his opinion, but he severely underestimates Agnu. Agnu is a straight killer once you put a bit of training in with him. 50 strength takes a lot of time to accomplish as well.
I am making Agnu a very dangerous Martial Artist, i am bringing him now on my main group and he is the my second or third best fighter. Beep is also among the best along with Seto, who is a tank. I do not know if it was because of a mod but i saw a unique dialogue once from Seto when she stood up after being knocked out, she said something like " I am Seto, heir to Kral's Kingdom, i will be the Devil you fear"

I got Seto eventually, she does have "some" unique dialogue but nothing spectacular. Her stats are actually going to be a lot lower than the rest of your crew unless you go the assassination route of acquiring the bugmaster/holy lord phoenix for some reason. Also - skeletons are bigger Chads than Chad himself, especially Agnu. They are finicky and require a different playstyle, though, so I made a separate squad for them and Cyber Beep, that pretty much can annihilate an entire town in minutes after some training, they are literally terminators if played correctly.
In very rare cases, apparently random Skeletons spawn as P4's. _I want one._ They're natural crafters. Burn, Agnu and Sadneil are amazing for being _Skeletons._ Miu and Pia freak out when there's Spiders or Paladins, respectively. Good early warning. Espher is a _Southern Hiver._ 'Nuff said, without the Prisoner Recruitment mod. Griffin's a badass Paladin, one who isn't a lunatic. And indeed, Bo's ability to recruit AntiSlavers and her Thieving skills make her amazing.

My Chad decided he was strong enough to fight like six Gorillo Bandits by himself. He was doing well until they sent his left arm into space and he passed out. Worked out in the end, now he has an industrial arm and punches other people limbs off for fun.
In Cat's defense he's really easy to recruit early on if you go to the Dust King's tower for the bounty on DK it's just a simple lockpick to get him sort of like a plus one along with the 35k cat bounty you might as well get a free recruit out of the deal too
in my opinion chung is one of the best companions, if you play with high death chance like me he is a blessing with his 50 medic skills, that skill becomes way important with high chance of death, he also have a lot of unique dialogue Burn/agnu are also really good and the fact they are skellingtons as long as you can repair them they are for some great tanks and burn also have some dialogue in him that explains in more detail some of the lore of certain zones so if you care about that is a must have too
I started playing very recently and found Beep chilling in Mongrel and of course I instantly fell in love. Then I took him outside to mine some copper and we were instantly attacked by fogmen who he couldn't outrun so he just got eaten... ;_;
Wheen you levvel up the muscle bulk and muscle definition on Chad he looks absolutely ludacris. On all my playthroughs Chad is dedicated to bodybuilding: power level amor smith, weap smith, strenght for muscle bulk... then power level dex, martial arts, athletics and swimming for muscle definition... never cook or do science... Make him wear a hearth protector, an eyepatch, martial artits binds and jonin pants... no armor or weapon like a true chad, not even fist protection... it is glorious to watch half naked ultra muscular dude getting KO constantly and getting up straight away like a chad

I think you're a bit off on a few people though. - Agnu is super unique due to being the only soldierbot you can recruit without mods, their unique "dialogue" (screaming) and IIRC being the only NPC who dyes their outfits blue. Also friends with Beep! - Bo is great, but you probably have several stronger guys by the time you can get her. Of course if you know what you're doing then you can cheese the game and get her earlier by leveling sneak in a safe place and kidnapping the nobles when they're asleep. - Esphen is the only purple hiver you're guaranteed to find! That's really unique! Btw Tinfist isn't the final boss as much as a good guy who can atomize you in one punch even after you've taken down the final boss. Btwtw finding the bugged soldierbots and heading to Tengu's Vault (in the desert mountains immediately to the east) is a good way to get Luquin, Esphen and a bunch of other guys pretty easily. A cool thing to try on your next run if you haven't already.
I kind of disagree with you on a lot of these because you seem to completely ignore their potential that comes from race. You only judge them by the stats, dialogue and ease of acquisition, which are all viable, but did you know that scorchlanders bleed less than greenlanders (like shek), require less food (unlike shek) and make wonderful crafters? They're also quite rare as recruits, so don't berate poor Cat that much for being from UC. Freeing him from Dust King's Tower isn't even that difficult. Also, hivers barely bleed at all and can eat basically everything. Hive princes, in particular, are great at stealth, assassination and thievery, in addition to all hivers having a boost to their speed. Did i mention already that they are immune to acid? Skeletons aren't just turret boys. They are very resistant to bleed damage, repair themselves almost completely instead of having to heal, and are immune to all environmental effects. Besides, Agnu, Sadneil and Burn are your only unique skeleton recruits, and all of them are relatively easy to get (Agnu is arguable). Skills are grindable. Potential is valuable. And Beep is precious.

ALL robots are S tier. When given heavy armor and heavy weapons and trained they are almost unstoppable. Plus you can switch there limbs and make them into whatever you want. Fast,high hp,high dex or str. They are just amazing.
You know your frostpunk was fun Can't wait for you to try other scenario modes. Your kenshi keep growing, the other TH-camr pixel rook kenshi are much more focus story to free it's people from tyranny. Your kenshi in other hand are much trying to survived or trying to make sense the surrounding world of kenshi. Oh FYI in kenshi construction set you sorta can change agnu from soldier bot to regular skeleton you seen everywhere but that requires you to import your save
Agnu and Beep amusingly were my first recruits because they seemed special, i never bothered recruiting just random bums at bars. I must say it's criminal that they aren't both in A+ but one can be forgiven for not daring to explore Venge, to me the risk i knew would be rewarded just like Mongrel around the hivers.
Agnu is super easy to rescue, barely an inconvenience. Get athletics up with someone, which is like what you would do anyway. Get strength up so you can carry someone. Go to Bast and lock yourself in to train lockpicking. Dodge a few lasers to the Tower. Soon as you enter tower, pause, go up to top floor, and get in cage. It will unaggro everything. Lockpick Agnu's cage, and as soon as you do you get control after he hops out. Force him back in cage. Lockpick Agnu's again, lockpick your cage. Pause, command both to escape. Pick up Agnu. Speedy Gonzales your way out of Venge.
If Ray is your last remaining character on your team, you can just become a slave, help other slaves to escape and eventually some of them will join them.
The fact that I put certain personality to some of my recruits made me loved the game more. I got Rane and Ruka early making the duo with Rane the tank she is and ruka the killing machine. Next with Kang being the crazy he was he is suppose to be a dual wielding katana lumatic but sadly no dual wielding He still has his double katana that He won't part with tho. And lastly Headshot and another non unique Crossbow follower the crossbow duo that kills enemies with one shot. Almost all my squad has a role to fit making it the best roaming squad that kills everything but with morals and hatred on slavery that I ever had.
I love how all the friends i have made(except Bard) all came from Mongrel they all talk about how you can never leave and they hate it but now me Kad beep and fack are living in our fog island plateaus compound dominating fogmen lol I just dont want to leave fog islands
Agnu is for sure higher than C tier, the ONLY soldierbot you can get in unmodded Kenshi basically, she's the most unique character you can get, besides beep of course. and she's got a ton of unique dialogue
Beep is Bae it can't be worse than S tier, is the completely example of a character vibe to kenshi, my favourites characters are Chad, Griffin, Beep and in the honor place in my heart Ray .

I really wish there was more unique dialogue for all the unique recruits. In fact, most unique recruits don't really have unique dialogue which is a shame.
My first and only companion, so far, wasn’t on the list. Her name was String, but I renamed her to Runa after the thief from Ghost of Tsushima. She’s a scorchlander. To be honest she had pretty awful stats, and no real unique dialogue, but she’s pretty cute and I enjoy leveling her stats up. Runa and my character, Ken Shi, do hardcore training sessions together. They’re like the perfect gym couple.
I love sadneil who has to be a tribute to hitchhikers guide to the galaxy :) I got Oron, which i call oron the mor... because she keeps on getting knocked unconscious by running to the largest enemies 🤣
honorable mention cuz the list at the wiki seems not to be correct, we have the hiver worker drone Wall Man. having unique dialogue while raids about destroying the gates at times. i found a reply on the subreddit but when i searched on the game's wiki I foung him not listed in the unique recruits page. the wiki says he claps at bard songs. personally i never found him
Hobbs was my first recruit in my first playthrough. The eternal first mate. After that, Kang and Ruka are like the other Kenshi main characters. Btw, Chad is in a good position to become a master martial artist.
To be fair stats don’t matter that much for unique recruits imo the dialogue is faaaar more important because you can train them. Yes bard is hated but he create some life in the base. Sadneil take an S from me for he’s sarcasm. And so on.

I usualy try to get Griffin, before i lose a limb. I yet have to uncover the truth for him, but so far he is fine with being an absolute UNIT (dude gets massive, if you dont tweak him via surgeon). I think he likes the Paladin's Cross, that i stole from Phoesnix (totaly worth the bounty on my head if you ask me)

Seto also refers to the player as if they are kin. A nice touch, considering Esta essentially adopts you as a shek when you turn in either bounty

Rane the Giant was my very first recruit... If you Wanderer start and head straight to Toro (10K bounty), shes a nice purchase with the reward money.
She was my first as well. :) I currently have her and Kang set as bodyguards for Seto.
ALL robots are S tier. When given heavy armor and heavy weapons and trained they are almost unstoppable. Plus you can switch there limbs and make them into whatever you want. Fast,high hp,high dex or str. They are just amazing.
Aside from Beep, I love Ruka and Green. I always try to get them on my playthroughs.

Stubs is great. He has scorchlander stat bonuses, but greenlander skin. He doesn't usually just attack.
Kenshi character creator keeps me amazed, how distinctive they can make them. Some look scary, some are cute, some look sad
My first playthrough was completely blind. I happe Ed to find Beep and a few others that had great conversations as we ran around the world.

Your kenshi keep growing, the other TH-camr pixel rook kenshi are much more focus story to free it's people from tyranny. Your kenshi in other hand are much trying to survived or trying to make sense the surrounding world of kenshi.
Oh FYI in kenshi construction set you sorta can change agnu from soldier bot to regular skeleton you seen everywhere but that requires you to import your save

Obviously he deserves his own Beep-Tier populated only by him.
Agnu and Beep amusingly were my first recruits because they seemed special, i never bothered recruiting just random bums at bars.
I must say it's criminal that they aren't both in A+ but one can be forgiven for not daring to explore Venge, to me the risk i knew would be rewarded just like Mongrel around the hivers.

Agnu is super easy to rescue, barely an inconvenience.
Get athletics up with someone, which is like what you would do anyway.
Get strength up so you can carry someone.
Go to Bast and lock yourself in to train lockpicking.
Dodge a few lasers to the Tower.
Soon as you enter tower, pause, go up to top floor, and get in cage. It will unaggro everything.
Lockpick Agnu's cage, and as soon as you do you get control after he hops out. Force him back in cage.
Lockpick Agnu's again, lockpick your cage.
Pause, command both to escape.
Pick up Agnu.
Speedy Gonzales your way out of Venge.
If Ray is your last remaining character on your team, you can just become a slave, help other slaves to escape and eventually some of them will join them.

The fact that I put certain personality to some of my recruits made me loved the game more. I got Rane and Ruka early making the duo with Rane the tank she is and ruka the killing machine. Next with Kang being the crazy he was he is suppose to be a dual wielding katana lumatic but sadly no dual wielding He still has his double katana that He won't part with tho. And lastly Headshot and another non unique Crossbow follower the crossbow duo that kills enemies with one shot.
Almost all my squad has a role to fit making it the best roaming squad that kills everything but with morals and hatred on slavery that I ever had.

basically, she's the most unique character you can get, besides beep of course. and she's got a ton of unique dialogue

Beep is Bae it can't be worse than S tier, is the completely example of a character vibe to kenshi, my favourites characters are Chad, Griffin, Beep and in the honor place in my heart Ray .

I really wish there was more unique dialogue for all the unique recruits. In fact, most unique recruits don't really have unique dialogue which is a shame.

My first and only companion, so far, wasn’t on the list. Her name was String, but I renamed her to Runa after the thief from Ghost of Tsushima. She’s a scorchlander. To be honest she had pretty awful stats, and no real unique dialogue, but she’s pretty cute and I enjoy leveling her stats up. Runa and my character, Ken Shi, do hardcore training sessions together. They’re like the perfect gym couple.
You have not encountered a lot of them, so can you really rate them? Cool concept, maybe one day you can come back and re-rate them.

honorable mention cuz the list at the wiki seems not to be correct, we have the hiver worker drone Wall Man. having unique dialogue while raids about destroying the gates at times. i found a reply on the subreddit but when i searched on the game's wiki I foung him not listed in the unique recruits page. the wiki says he claps at bard songs. personally i never found him
Hobbs was my first recruit in my first playthrough. The eternal first mate. After that, Kang and Ruka are like the other Kenshi main characters. Btw, Chad is in a good position to become a master martial artist.

To be fair stats don’t matter that much for unique recruits imo the dialogue is faaaar more important because you can train them.

I used Beep to hook and unhook my skeleton from the skin machine- after doing that I put him in the machine and locked the door to that room.

I usualy try to get Griffin, before i lose a limb. I yet have to uncover the truth for him, but so far he is fine with being an absolute UNIT (dude gets massive, if you dont tweak him via surgeon). I think he likes the Paladin's Cross, that i stole from Phoesnix (totaly worth the bounty on my head if you ask me)
If modded, Ray have some dialogue as "*nod" or "!"
