Hey guys! Sorry about the video Hiatus, I’ve been stupid busy with school and work, but I have another one in the works that should hopefully come out soon. Thank you for all your support and kind words. Keep asking questions and I’ll be happy to answer. If you guys have any specific topics you want me to cover, please feel free to request. @@snaptrapcarnivores2179 well I just got a fly trap from lowes and I also got the growing kit but in lowes they dont get any sun and so I've been putting them in the sun but they seem so bunched together, and there like opened all the way almost folding inside out and I tried feeding on but it wouldn't close and so tomorrow I'm getting the proper soil and stuff but I'm just kind of lost like I dont know if it's going to die or something. And like I really really want this to work out but idk if it's me doing something wrong or if it's the place where I got them. Our local fish store down town occasionally sells these, and i really wanted one but i wanted to make sure i did research first. this video is honestly so helpful. I have a well lit, warm fish room ( i breed bettas so feeding fish pellets is so convenient lmao tho i do only use really good quality ones ) so the room is already warm and humid.
Omg I was freaking wondering if I could feed it fish food!! I am a gardener and putting fish food in the soil makes my plants so happy. My youngest son asked for one of these and found one a day later at Walmart for 2 bucks. I have no freaking clue how to grow these. I fed it a live spider I found and became so amazed. I've been reading about it for an hr now. But yea the question of feeding it fish food was the top of my list. So interesting, I don't wana feed it all my spiders I need my spiders. I guess I'll do more research.
Old video I know but I'm getting one tomorrow for a my mom's mother's day present. I live in Wisconsin and the weather is what I would call bipolar. This video helped and I'll be checking in again if I missed anything

I remember buying one for my high school science experiment. I had to create a biodome where everything in there tries to survive without human interaction for like a week. But back then I didn't realize I was killing it because I thought it needed LESS sunlight rather than more. I got a good grade but man I really wanted to keep raising it afterwards 🥲
Hi Thanks so much for your Video watched other videos in the past but yours was so much easier and understand For the past 3 years now I have kept venus fly traps and when it comes to winter I have been doing everything wrong watering changing the pot and of course they died so when spring comes along I go out and I buy another one and its just a vicious circle but watching your video has given me hope to try and keep my present one going at the moment it is lush and growing and I hope to keep it that way Thank you from the UK
Just noticed your video regarding these Dionaea muscipula’s, as a South Carolina resident myself, I’d like to also add, most importantly, you must be able to manipulate their environment as well, such as the type of soil content which they easily grow in, as well as temperature and humidity levels. From my experience as a resident and a carnivore plant hobbyist, our humidity lvls are quite high even during an extended heatwave, and as you may fully be aware, they are located in the southeast portion of NC and Northeast portion of SC (Horry County) so you will also need to take in account the zonage they are located in. For me, I have managed to grow them (even in the ground in heavy clay regions by replacing the clay with sand, peat moss, fresh bark mulch (which you use to cover the ground to inhibit weed growth) and bags of decomposed small mulch, all mixed together with a small amount of clay, as the Venus flytrap grows in a region with white clay mixed in with sand and decomposed humus/peat and mulch clippings/scattered clump grasses surrounding them (from my in person observations, not from a book)....hope this helps some....for you and others interested in my in-person perception
Adapt Gaming If it’s just a couple and the rest looks healthy, then that’s normal. If the whole plant is starting to turn black, that could either be a sign of something not being right for it, or even going into dormancy. Let’s start with these questions: How many hours of direct light is it getting daily? What’s the weather like outside? What are you watering with? What kind of soil is it potted in?
Great video 👍. I just bought one because it's cute.. Yes I'm an adult I should know better.. I do want to take care of it properly and I think I have learned a lot from your video.

I just got Venus Fly Trap seeds and I'm pretty new to plants in general. Is there a specific season I should plant and start growing them? Should I wait until winter is over to get started?
twice a month is fine. Too many nutrients can be bad for them, so you don't have to feed them often. The heads/leafs only open and close up about 3+ times before dying/shedding and regrowing a new leaf, so be sure not to stick your finger in their jaws all the time :'D
Can you tell us the seller please? I'm not ready to purchase, but I think amazon is where I'll need to go. I've never seen a venus fly try in real life anywhere. I'm an orchid enthusiast and would love to move into other "exotic" plants!
