Great review !! I’m looking for a fitness tracker and nów i”’m a littlebit confused. Garmin vivosmart ot fitbit inspire hr? I was almoat 100% sure for Garmin but the problem with the heartrate is important for me... Which one is better for You ?
I really hate to say it but I had not very good reporting's of my heart rate on the vivosmart for Fitbit was a little bit more accurate but I stayed I still think that they all work it really depends on your preference our style and how big do you want the wristband to be. Personally I really like how small that vivosmart 4 is it is super small in super slow and I really just love its design I really really love
i guess garmin will be better to choose i have charge 3 and today i tested him with my old vivomart HR 5000 steps difference because this and non function sp02 i will switch from charge 3 to vivosmart 4

Thank you very much for the detailed review! :-) Would you give the Fitbit a chance if they get the spo2 sensor working? Because from other reviews the Garmin is not that accurate in relation to pulse measurement. Do you even still wear the Vivosmart, since i never saw it on your wrist in your new videos.
Yes, 100% - If I could combine the Vivosmart 4 and Fitbit Charge 3, it'd be an amazing fitness tracker. I am waiting but it will prob be "NEVER" when we get spo2 on FBC3.
Thank you very much! Sorry for the late response... Did you notice any improvement in the accuracy of the heart rate sensor since the software updates? (Version 2.8 the latest)

@@JSyntax Hi, I decided to take a chance and bought the Honor band 5 fitness tracker earlier today but have since found it won't connect to my New Oneplus 7T, I thought for the price and it had all the basics I wanted, Including SP02 sensor but I was wrong. I have an honor band 5 and a OnePlus 7t and they do pair well....I did have issues with it reporting correct sleep info to the app but fixed that by re-installing the app. The honor band is a nice budget friendly band...I’d take it any day over Fitbit as fitbits break down A LOT. Oh man i can’t decide. This Review and your newer one are very positive, and give a good overall critical review, but the ones on Amazon (my Country) are not so good. Can you say something about the music control ? Is it good ? Does it work for other Apps such as Audible or Podcast, where you don’t skip to the next, but only forward ? The other option for me is the vivomove hr, do you have an opinion on that ? For me the big negativ is, that there is no „yoga“ activity.
I'll talk about it more in my next review, the forerunner. There's not much to say, it works ok if you wear it 24/7. Do you have any questions about it?
U mentioned the key things and u can easily decide .... If ur outdoor runner vivosport over the other two but charge 3 also works, if u snore like hell and are told by anyone who has seen u sleep that u seem to have trouble breathing while u snore or u stop breathing for intervals the Sp02 sensor might actually nudge you to get help because no one really takes care of this until they realise how bad it is which is often late, hr monitoring can't be highly accurate in any optical sensor based device like a watch and all them screw up a bit when ur working out but still they meet the purpose of measuring heart rate with decent reliable accuracy and using the metrics to help you understand your fitness n stuff .......but the most important thing I can tell to differentiate the three is the size and design preference the vivosmart for is like wearing air on ur hand it's so small and low key I love that about I mean they put so much in something so small while charge 3 is bigger less low profile but screen is better .......if your a guy who goes to the gym more and does not run out often and then also wants solid metrics in a very small package which weighs nothing vivosmart 4 otherwise get the Fitbit charge 3 which according to reveiws I feel is a bit better I have a smart4 because it fits my needs and most importantly I wanted something I can wear all day and not feel it's there and is discreet.
@@3333XD I really appreciate your thoughtful response. Thank you. I'm on the fence still to be honest. The Ox sensor and the GPS appeal to me. I don't need smart features at all. I don't really need a watch. I have a minimalist TID Watch that I never take off. I also can't see well, so I probably couldn't see the smaller screens well, which may be fine if the autodetect feature is good enough. Does the OX sensor help monitor stress levels? Or is primarily a sleep-related sensor? I had considered the Moov Now, but it doesn't seem to have many sensors built in.
@@jayehuu forget the ox sensor it's pretty useless unless ur a sleep apnea sufferer even then it's accuracy is suspect it's cheaper and more accurate to get a medical pulse ox measuring device. I think fit bit charge 3 is best for you. Honestly only good thing about any of these devices is heart rate sensor and also that the devices can act as a behavior modifier helping develop healthier habits. The hr sensor can help you get an idea of health and stress. While the device it self will nudge you to have a active life as well as have a daily diary of sorts comprising of health stats giving you an idea of ur activity levels and stress which you can look back over the years for fun. Don't think so much about it ....what's most important sticking to your budget and choosing the device which you feel is best inside of budget even it means you have sacrifice one or two features unless of course you absolutely need them. These devices are not highly accurate medical grade devices anyway just an average peice of technology aimed at trying to slightly aid in you living a healthy active life. Frankly you can also do all this with a pen and paper if ur highly focused, diligent and detail oriented person while using your fingers to measure ur pulse xD

Wearing both full watches gets me a lot of unwanted questions/attention and just feels weird because they are both bulky. I use to wear the Breitling while working and vivoactive while exercising and a fitbit 24/7 several years ago when I was a strong triathlete and sub 3 marathoner and it was great other than not having integrated data on one platform and the fitbit wasn't waterproof so I had to wear a chest strap to swim. Then I got the apple watch thinking it would bring it all together in one place.... but I ended up hating it after a year or two (not a great watch for real athletes or ultra marathoners or people wanting good sleep data). My gf got me the Whoop for Christmas and in general I don't like it at all so feel like I am back to the drawing board. Vivosmart 4 seems like a good alternative that will integrate better with the 935 and give me 24/7 data.

@@JSyntax sad :-( Thanks
@@Sharamaga no I wish that was a future that they could provide I really think the smart watch manufacturers should Implement such a feature to wake you up at the right phase of your seat based on your activity that is an ingenious featuring why don't they actually provide that feature?
You were not on your way to archery tag
You were a good demonstration
Garmin vivo sport vs Fitbit Charge 3
Which 1 and why please
Thank you for the review, can you set vibrate alarms to wake you up or reminder on this Garmin? If yes, does it have snooze option like Mi Band?
Yes!
Can you turn off the Bluetooth connectivity ?
Would really like to know if you can turn off the Bluetooth from pinging ? Would like to cut out the emf waves..
@@karivanhorn1765 I have no idea. I ended up going with Garmin Vivoactive 4S which has this option.
@@bradeac I just ordered that one :) thank you
Would you say the accuracy of the steps is good?
Yes, it's similar to my fitbit i'd say! but there's no connected gps btw, afaik
i guess garmin will be better to choose i have charge 3 and today i tested him with my old vivomart HR 5000 steps difference because this and non function sp02 i will switch from charge 3 to vivosmart 4
@@reaperek23 nice! Let me know if you like it. Make sure to watch my fitbit charge 3 review. There are some differences that you may like or not.
Does Vivosmart 4 has "reminders to move" feature like Charge 3?
Yes
JSyntax thanks for your info sir, it’s really help me
Do you have to pay for a membership in Garmin to unlock features in their app?
Nope! Not like Fitbit
Do you know whether Garmin Vivosmart 4 can use Tablet rather than mobile device.
Yes tablet should work,
I keep getting a display, with a “nudge”, which looks like the vivosmart bracelet either not connected (with an x) or connected (with a check) with a phone. I don’t know what this means. It doesn’t display long enough that I can get a picture of it. Any ideas?
I'd contact Garmin support
It means your out of range of your phone so you won’t get notifications until you’re back in range.
Thank you very much for the detailed review! :-)
Would you give the Fitbit a chance if they get the spo2 sensor working? Because from other reviews the Garmin is not that accurate in relation to pulse measurement.
Do you even still wear the Vivosmart, since i never saw it on your wrist in your new videos.
I'm wearing it a lot. And yes Garmin heart rate sensor is not accurate when moving. My Huawei watch 2 and fitbit are way more accurate. Sadly...
@@danielb.4373 I'm wondering the same with the heartrate accuracy update.
Couldnt care less about lifting weights but which one is better for stair stepping?
Garmin
Very nice review! It sounds like the Huawei Band 3 Pro will be a serious contender to the Vivo smart based on your personal opinion. I hope you could give it a try
You didn’t mention anything about sleep apnea
Great reviews from your channel, thanks man
Great review! I want that watch now! My vivoactive HR isn’t always accurate with heart rate too
Thanks!
Does it require internet to use most features.like when i in the middle of the ocean?
No, it's always tracking!
@@JSyntax thanks,i asked because i am working on a ship where there is no internet.thanks...
Thanks for your video, I am looking into buying my 1st ever fitness tracker mainly as a general fitness tracker & HR sensor but I also have sleep apnoea and asthma and still try to train & weight lift, I'm leaning more towards this for the SP02 sensor. Anymore advice would be appreciated.
This is a good budget entry model but I also like the vivoactive 4s. See my review!
@@JSyntax Hi, I decided to take a chance and bought the Honor band 5 fitness tracker earlier today but have since found it won't connect to my New Oneplus 7T, I thought for the price and it had all the basics I wanted, Including SP02 sensor but I was wrong. It's so annoying to find that there is not enough information out there for the cheaper models. I'm now going back through looking at either Garmin or Fitbit. Feel like my heads going to explode!
I have an honor band 5 and a OnePlus 7t and they do pair well....I did have issues with it reporting correct sleep info to the app but fixed that by re-installing the app. The honor band is a nice budget friendly band...I’d take it any day over Fitbit as fitbits break down A LOT. I’m looking at Garmin for their body battery feature which I really need but I’m concerned about the accuracy of the hr monitor on this model.
I'm looking for the review on vivosmart 4 body's energy feature e.g. all-day stress tracking, relaxation breathing timer, VO2 max, Body Battery energy monitor. If you could give some insight about it please.
Me too!
Yes, that would be great to add to your review
@@markknight2768 I had bought this and the body battery feature is amazing, It takes sleep points into account about how much your body is charged but the problem was sleeping tracking, which absolutely horrible. So I returned it after 2 days. I don't recommend this. Go check Huawei bands, they are worth it.
@@ahsanansari92 do any of them do night time SP02 like the Garmin? I am looking for something small and comfortable that lets me check my sleep apnea. This is the only one I found for under $100 that will. The 4 has been out for over two years so I was hoping Garmin would announce the 5 but I have search all the internet and can't find out anything about it or if they are even working on an updated version.
@@markknight2768 Better check out Honor band 5. It has Sp02 and also has very accurate sleep tracking. It is also really cheap. Check reviews and buy that one!
Hi! Thank you for this great review :)
I wish to buy a smart band to do strength training
in your opinion which is better to this purpose?
fitbit charge 3 or vivosmart 4?
Thanks
Greetings :)
Thanks! No problem. I prefer the vivosmart 4. None are perfect. It depends what you value more. If you want something small and minimal, go with vivosmart. If you need more smart features like advanced notifications , go with fitbit charge 3
That men’s garmin is so narrow it looks like a woman’s garmin. I’m a female and I use fit bit 3 is more nicer but I really love the Samsung gear S3 because it’s in color!!
Hi ! i am really hesitating between vivosmart 4 and fitbit charge 3
Which tracker would you recommend for 100€ and 200€ max budget ?
(or other ones)
I also saw the honor band 4, but there is no way to export data...
Both are good. I'd be happy with either. Get Garmin if u want the spo2 sensor and something super small.
Do you know if it works well with apple iphone?
Falei em Português
Oh man i can’t decide. This Review and your newer one are very positive, and give a good overall critical review, but the ones on Amazon (my Country) are not so good.
Can you say something about the music control ? Is it good ? Does it work for other Apps such as Audible or Podcast, where you don’t skip to the next, but only forward ?
The other option for me is the vivomove hr, do you have an opinion on that ? For me the big negativ is, that there is no „yoga“ activity.
I am personally in love with the form factor and I wouldn't trade it for anything else
I was hoping that you would talk about the Body Battery on the Garmin :(
I'll talk about it more in my next review, the forerunner. There's not much to say, it works ok if you wear it 24/7. Do you have any questions about it?
Does it count calories pretty well?
Yes! Of course!
Vivosport with GPS, VIvosmart 4 with o2 or fitbit charge 3 with GPS pairing? Any thoughts?
Hi, can this tracker be use in mountains to control your acclimatisation by the SpO2 sensor? Is it show in app how change the O2 level in your blood during day?
Yes. You can monitor your spo2 levels any time during the day. There's an app
Can you change the strap of garmin? Is it removable?
No, but it comes several colors!
@@JSyntax Is there any possibilities to change the strap?I see that there are some screws under the strap. Do you think it is possible to change the strap by unscrewing the screws? is the strap made of hard plastic anyway? Do you think that the

Large but you can get small
@@JSyntax currently i wearing Hua Wei honor band 3, would like to upgrade Vivosmart 4 but in dilemma between small size and large size 😅
Does it work with sleep as android?
No
@@JSyntax Thanks so much for reply! This could be a deal breaker for me since sleep as android allows me to edit sleep graph where i can delete stages of sleep in which i just layed awake not moving which tracker can easily confuse as a sleep. Did you hava that situation with this tracker where you would laying still not moving and tracker would track that as a sleep?
@@conspiritor2 I could be wrong, Garmin and Fitbit are mentioned here sleep.urbandroid.org/documentation/integration/wearable/ - the native sleep tracker is accurate, why would u want to use a 3rd party? Garmin is great at this.,
@@JSyntax I have insomnia. I wake up early and stay laying down for an hour or two which is recorded by a tracker as sleep. Using sleep as android I can easily edit sleep graph an have actual sleep time.
Until you break the band then the Vivo isn't so nice. Fitbit can be changed.
Yeah I broke the band, Bummer $129 down the drain.
Thanks for the review
Thanks great review
How long does it last a full charge of battery for Garmin Vivosmart 4? Thanks! :) @JSyntax
Can't recall!
All i can say is i like Garmin products and they have great customer service
Ditto
Hey!How does this thing detect sleep apnea?
It has a feature called pulse ox that detects your blood oxygen saturation levels when you fall asleep however it's limited to only 4 hours then I recommend checking out the ring sleep monitor I recently posted a review about it
Can I wear the Vivosmart 4 with the Forerunner 935? Will it integrate my data when used simultaneously? Supposedly you canaccording to Garmin's website but it's not clear: support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=UZRGMfTokn1TLQibO7nbn5
I wear the 935 while running/Swimming/exercising and a Breitling during the day while working but still want 24/7 data.
PS- thanks for the very detailed and thoughtful reviews you post!
Inaccurate heart measurement is a deal-breaker.
Check out the spo2 analysis video: th-cam.com/video/uP18ZJHTZdo/w-d-xo.html
THE FITBIT CHARGE 3 WOULD BE PERFECT IF IT SOLVED THESE:
no phone finder
sleep score STILL in beta and not available on app
can't track swimming laps during swim only after on app -_--
The HUAWEI band 3 and HONOR band 4 do all this as standard
NO MUSIC CONTROLS!!!
And an actual weight lifting Rep counter and always on display! Then it's prefect
I need to check out those fitness trackers!
I have Garmin vivoactive 3 , and its very good ,
But fitbit charge 3 , i find the best , cause heartrate acuratie, also stepcount on My tracker is acurate ,
I have test it whit a mechanical counter , charge 2 and 3 , are acurate .
Yes, I find the charge 3 has a much better heart rate tracker
Ok, he's cute.
