accurate. deep. Interesting. Thanks to my research on Coronado Expedition I came here and literally "drank it all down to the details". Great lesson. thanks from Italy.
I liked the way Jon described that 15,000 years. Just an amateur here. Thanks for telling the truth about what people knew about the globe before 1492. Colone had insider information from the Portuguese Royalty too. This was a great educational video. Wish I could have heard on clearly. I believe there is much more to the remainder of Coronodo's expedition to the north. What else was said that motivated the Spanish to drive further notrh to Colorado and Utah to mine the gold.
Gentle constructive criticism: use a mic attached to your shirt (you are quite fidgety while you talk). Very interesting presentation. I learned a lot! Thx.

The blanket statements coming out from Jon's head cause him to sound as questionable as his strained delivery has his face looking. *_"..constructs...perhaps that was one of the benefits...the Christians seeing us as having a soul.."_* And the indigenous "noble savages" who were enslaved, done away with, destroyed, reduced...throughout the Americas ??? From that point onward, regardless of how much accurate history is actually conveyed within this recording, I had to be on alert for questionable, misleading, inaccurate, underdeveloped content.
Although your content is interesting, how did you come to the conclusions made as to why the Spanish ventured into New Mexico? The Spanish were blood-thirsty adventurers willing to do whatever it took to steal valuables away from their rightful owners. If the Spanish believed a route to Asia was in the Northwest direction and that was their only reason for being in New Mexico; then why was the central area settled and excursions made to the Northeast? Why the interest in Quivira?
To Martin Jones: the Spaniards were not “blood-thirsty adventurers”, they were exploring the vast areas of the Southwest, and yes, they were looking for gold, silver etc. Tragically, blood was shed, and that is a stain on my Spanish heritage of which I am not proud of. To be better informed, I suggest you read (free download): Spanish Explorations of the Southwest (1916) by H. E. Bolton. Lastly, my brothers were in Vietnam to help secure your right to be racist, oh! I meant, your freedom of speech.

Saludos desde México. Vásquez Coronado exploro tierras que si no fuera por el robo de los gringos, ahora serían parte del territorio mexicano.
You mean like Spain colonized Mexico and taught everyone Spanish.....like that?
