- Thank you for watching this video about how to play traditional cumbia from Colombia on the drums! comments are more than welcome :).
The cumbia I played in this video is called "Soledad" lyrics by Toto La Momposina.
There are many kinds of cumbia and they vary the instrumentation depending on the the area they come from. Every country in south America has its own way of playing cumbia but originally, it comes from Colombia so if you want to really dig into the real stuff you should check some of these artists. Some of these proyecta include other instruments such as gaitas, guacharaca ( colombian güiro) acordeon and more.. Enjoy! :)

😎
Muchas gracias 🙏
Very interesting. The hard part is playing the hi-hat only with the left foot. Once you master it, the rest is piece of cake 🤪.
I guess I'll play the & on open HH with the stick for starters... That I can do. Or simply ask la cantante to play the maracon.
You are right! It is just a matter of time, thank you for stoping by and watching 🙏🏼☺️
yes !!!!!
Thank you!
Thankyou for teaching! Also 6:10 can I pls sample this and turn it into 90's rap
Super! Me alegro que te sirvió! 😊
Thank you for such a comprehensive and helpful video!! I have one question though, on the part with the maracón you translated the sounds to the hi hat. I don’t see you using your sticks to hit it though and was wondering how you’re using your left foot only to get that “sizzle” sound. Much appreciated, thank you!
thank you so much for the comment 🙏. I use my foot to open it. Let me find the right explanation in english not sure how to explain..
Well done and explained Karina! Would love a Zoom lesson sometime. Can we work this out?
Of course! Please send me a message on Instagram or Facebook to give you my number :)
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hola Karina! Muchas gracias por este tutorial...very groovy and spirited too!
Saludos Chris, Wow! Me alegro mucho y agradezco tu comentario! Espero poder escuchar el arreglo! Muchas gracias! 🙏🏼😊
Saludos! :)
