In Germany, renewable energy plants are repeatedly shut down because the power grid is overloaded. For example, 5.4 TWh of clean energy was not produced in 2019. With this amount of electricity alone, 1/3 of all data centers in Germany could already be operated in a climate-friendly manner. To counteract this trend, the basic idea was to exploit this untapped potential. Therefore, windCORES builds energy-intensive data centers in wind farms and uses the electricity directly where it is produced. This is sustainable, cost-effective and, above all, obvious.
