Kyle's videos are the reason I took up piano. In the ninth grade, I found his Final Fantasy videos. All I wanted was to be able to play as well as him; I practiced for upwards of 7 hours a day, literally. I just graduated high school and while I don't quite have that amount of free time anymore, I just finished learning all of FFVII piano collections. Piano has been and continues to be a major source of joy for me. I am eternally grateful for the magic that your playing has brought into my life, Mr. Landry - thank you for everything.
Reminiscing. Found my comment when I didn’t know how to read music. You were such a huge part of my journey growing up and learning to read music. I will forever hold you as one of my guides through my journey.. makes me so emotional hearing this now.. thank you so much, Kyle.
When I read this comment with the music in the background, it moved me to tears. I want to believe that there's still hope for the future of games but your comment reminded me of all the nostalgia and all the beautiful memories of the old games I treasured as a child. Though games change to fit the age, we will always remember. We will remember the story, the characters, the awe of the worlds in which we journeyed and the legacy they created. We will always remember the way games used to be.
Kyle as one classically trained pianist to another, your videos inspire me to make my own video game covers and to get better at arranging. The craft and emotion that goes into your arrangements sets them above the rest. I tip my hat to you good sir.
Heard so many people playing this over and over, but when I listen to you playing this fantastic piece it feels like I hear it for the first time again.
aaaaaaahhh... so many years have passed since the game but also since your first uploaded video... yet I still continue paying a visit here... I thank you very much for all the company you kept me and for the travels in the final fantasy world all these years...
I use to play this on repeat 3-4 years back when things were rough. I cried a lot back then. I'd think of death, afterlife, a strong desire to leave and live forever in this beautiful sunflower garden with not a thing to worry about. Just simple bliss. Now everything's flooding back. Like the feelings of having no one, being utterly alone, lost in despair, the end of the road. I'd escape by fantasizing of the perfect life I long for but only see in my dreams; the extreme opposite of what my life has always been...hope, joy, tranquility, forgiveness, infinite love.
Loading up your videos and scrolling all the way down to where I left off in your chronology has now become a daily mode of stress relief - just listening to a few songs a day. Excited to reach the anime and pop collections but your earlier stuff shines just as brightly...
THAT IS THE ONLY REASON WHY I PLAYED CLASSIC FINAL FANTASY GAMES THEY HAD SUCH AMAZING MUSIC FOR A GAME and i am not a huge RPG fan:) and this guy is amazing :)
Every time I listen to this song, be it this version or the original one from the game, it always brings tears to my eyes and gives me full body shivers. Beautifuly done.
Kyle Landry, my chest hurts whenever I hear you play. I long for this world again and the friends that exist inside of it. Not just FF7 but Terra's Theme is amazing too.
This song is really the reason why I started to learn piano, I remember this everytime and its a beautiful song from a game thats SUPER AMAZING! thank you for playing it :)
woah.. Final Fantasy VII is my favourite game ever. this piece brings back a lot of memories. I enjoy watching your videos over and over again. Thank you again Kyle. you make me feel very happy with your music =) Love Iv
yesss im so happy you reposted this kyle. I'm glad to see you're starting to repost the good ole video game music like the old days. I just wish everyone knew what happened to your cd release......we're all hoping for an answer
Brilliant execution of this precious melody, furthermore, the warmth in which you caress each key, brings the passion to this master piece~ Thank you for sharing your gift with us... Ciao!
Listen again. Listen to all of the voices in the orchestra. You'll hear it. To me it's amazing that the same effect and emotions can be brought through using just one instrument. Excellent rendition.
wow. this is my first final fantasy game and after hearing this again for years, nostalgia rushes into me like water rushes from a broken dam. this is one of many great reasons why i traveled and explored the world on foot, mainly because of this. i remember running into a village because the music starts to become more ominous and i get scared. I still get scared even now. beautiful, and well done.
You played it so beautifully. One of the things I love the most about this soundtrack is that on every single youtube post of ff7 music, there are comments "brings back memories". Tell me another game where u can hear the music and say it brings back memories? I bet most people cant even hum a tune from another game except maybe mario! Final fantasy 7 for life x
Kyle, you are damned amazing. Reading all of the comments must be so much fun for you, all of the words about how you rock at playing the music... Every one of them is true. You are amazing.
Wow. There are a lot of great pianists but you really stand out. You play exactly how I hear music inside my mind...in my mind I only create perfection. All the notes you touch are so soft, so perfect, so right. I could never play this piece like you, your style is very unique. Keep up the fantastic work!
I love watching these "Kyle-plays-Final-Fantasy-music-all-day-long" marathons lol. You rock. I remember that this was one of the first FF pieces I ever heard the first time I heard about FF...haha brings back memories =).
I break down into tears..... i am serious. I played this game all growing up. It is a part of me.. geez.. i'm a nerd! ha! but i can't explain the overwhelming nostalgia i feel when i hear pieces from the game. it's just unutterable. and so well played!!!
this music made getting lost while wandering around the world map so very worth it! First time you play the game and leave Mdgar things just get so epic. Oh the nostalgia :)
what's make one of his songs better than others? simplicity is never a bad attribute, i just love the emotion of the song, when i hear this song, i just see a fast forwarded slide show one of my favorite games of all time
I definitely will look forward to buying one in the near future, it sounds so beautiful. But as is the standard, the machine can do nothing without the artist behind it. Keep up the good work Kyle.
I love that you're putting up all of the FF stuff up again. I so hope to see Fighting next! And if you're taking requests for old videos, I'd like to ask for the the Twilight Princess trailer and Gerudo Valley (I know that one is on your website though). I miss those three the most.
aaah....so peaceful. I remember a time when all i played was ff7 all day and night. i have this song (in dif variants) on my ipod and listen to it when i go to sleep sometimes. i just love this theme song.
i should not watch too many of your videos. it gives me like ADHD on my piano. just when you thought i was focused on finishing one piece, i watch one of your videos and it inspires me to play the same one i just watched and it draws me away from the other one i was learning. you play incredibly well. so very talented.
This song makes me feel confortably happy :) After one of those days wich you only want to end (happened to me today), listening to this song just makes me feel i'm in heaven. Thanks for your awesome work Kyle :)
I know exactly what you mean. Especially about the nostalgia part... it's wierd how that works. And this is one of the best pieces of music ever composed in my opinion.
Really nicely done. I'm just beginning to learn the second half of this song. Some really haunting and strange chords which are even more interesting if you learn them.
@Vincent3095 Wow. My sincere apologies. First of all. I love KyleLandry and all of his covers. My brother, who doesn't seem to enjoy my loud blasting of his videos, commented on this video using my account. I digress, thank you Mr. Landry, for posting such awesome covers!

this is by far the best rendition of this you will find anywhere on the internet. pure genius. well done.
Heard so many people playing this over and over, but when I listen to you playing this fantastic piece it feels like I hear it for the first time again.
I'm quite glad that you made another account and are continuing to play and upload videos! It's truly a service to us all.
The most underrated melody ever... Plaid by Kyle as perfect as usual
aaaaaaahhh... so many years have passed since the game but also since your first uploaded video... yet I still continue paying a visit here... I thank you very much for all the company you kept me and for the travels in the final fantasy world all these years...

This brings me back to 13 years ago when I first fell in love with your music!
Same. Senior year in high school.
I just don't know which one I love more, youtube or you playing the piano.
Beautiful piece, and you play it just beautiful, beautifully.
Loading up your videos and scrolling all the way down to where I left off in your chronology has now become a daily mode of stress relief - just listening to a few songs a day. Excited to reach the anime and pop collections but your earlier stuff shines just as brightly...
