Omg! It’s working! Hahah! Man you just helped me out so much! I’ve been trying to do this forever. This is the first time anyone has ever actually explained in a cohesive way
I've played for years but never bothered with the throat vibrato , but because of my laziness it's definitely held me back,. I'm reasonable ok in all areas except this, but lacking that vibrato makes me sound like I'm missing that real professional edge, So I regret not learning earlier. This Video is the best explanation of this method I've seen yet! thank you
Yeah I'm right there with you. This rich throat vibrato is still something I can't really do, but I agree, this is the best video I've found on ;the subject.
@@Harmonicacom Yeah and I think the key is having your tongue in that bend position the entire time, while the air flow change from the throat pulsating has to be at the right amount that it only bends the reed in the harmonica on the powerful part of the throat pulse and not bending it on the less powerful part of the draw. If that makes sense. I haven't achieved it yet so I'm not 100% sure
Thank you. I’ve not quite got it yet, but much closer. This was the most useful video yet. I found I could get closest on 1 draw using your method and thinking about bending without dropping my jaw. It then transferred kinda ok to 2 draw. Still tremolos on the higher holes, but i am getting there!
I’m a beginner too. Also wondered!!! It seems that he is using C harp. Someone please let me know if I’m wrong. (I’m a total Beginner so I don’t feel properly qualified to offer opinions!)
I retract my earlier comment about sub titles. Found out that my settings were set to auto generate subtitles. Fixed now. Sorry for that. Great video. Thanks
Ha! I wish I had it mastered. But I do agree that this is the best vid on the subject that I've seen. Here's my article on which harmonica to buy: www.harmonica.com/which-harmonica-to-buy/ Hope that helps! Aloha, Luke
When you say " I'm going to SAY 'who-who-who' you are drawing in on the breathe, yes? You are not actually saying who-who-who as an outward direction? Btw , I can't say the who-who sucking in very quickly though I can say it outwards as in regular talking. Thanks. Very well done and great sound.
Dang I’ve had this all wrong. I guess I was just pulsating the note and thought I was doing it correctly. I didn’t realize it’s a change in the pitch. I should have put two and two together when it seemed to come easy to me I thought. That usually doesn’t happen. I should have known I wasn’t doing it correctly right off the bat. That never happens.
hadesoffff No. I used to but now I have a pro teacher and he can tell when I’m moving my tongue to do vibrato, he says not to do it, it sounds weak and thin. Beter to control the air flow with the throat. It takes ages to get it because each reed is slightly different so you have to modify the technique for different notes.
Best vibrato lesson anywhere hands down. Thanks a ton!
I AGREE!!! I haven't found a better on yet.

I’m a beginner too. Also wondered!!!
It seems that he is using C harp. Someone please let me know if I’m wrong. (I’m a total Beginner so I don’t feel properly qualified to offer opinions!)
I like your style bro. So vibrato is a repeated bend !
Very helpful lesson, thank you! Who is the teacher?
Fantastic, I will practise this, I'm a beginner, this helps a lot! Thank you!

Thanks a heap for this! Much appreciated.

Thank you for your lesson. Is throat vibrato possible with tongue blocking technique, please?
Yes, it is!
Great lesson Thanks!!
Great video! But I will need to practice a lot to get this nicely!
I retract my earlier comment about sub titles. Found out that my settings were set to auto generate subtitles. Fixed now. Sorry for that. Great video. Thanks
No worries! I've watched this video many times myself. I still don't have a deep vibrato like his, but...one day!!
Thank you tons!
Awesome Michael. Thx. Thx to JP also

Thank for the lesson. helped.
I have the first 2 techniques, but I don't understand sending the air up and down...
Yeah that one kinda confused me a little bit too...
Cool! But my jaw wants to move a little bit also. And I think the back of my tongue is moving up and down.
Awesome!!! Thank you so much!!!
Thank you Sir
U r amazing
Ok, wow!
My fav vibrato lesson.
Good one..!!
I do not understand what SEND AIR UP AND DOWN means! draw and blow ???? What is send air to any direction ??
Not draw and blow. I believe he means up toward the sky and down toward the floor?
When you say " I'm going to SAY 'who-who-who' you are drawing in on the breathe, yes? You are not actually saying who-who-who as an outward direction? Btw , I can't say the who-who sucking in very quickly though I can say it outwards as in regular talking. Thanks. Very well done and great sound.
Yes, while breathing in. Correct!
Merci beaucoup ! (I know, this is french but nobody is perfect)
lol.

Do you guys move your tongue while doing vibrato?
hadesoffff No. I used to but now I have a pro teacher and he can tell when I’m moving my tongue to do vibrato, he says not to do it, it sounds weak and thin. Beter to control the air flow with the throat. It takes ages to get it because each reed is slightly different so you have to modify the technique for different notes.
@@Blue_3rd yes. You are correct. Each Reed is different and we have to change the mouth position .
when you say who who who, are you sucking in or breathing out. you don't specify
Inhaling
👍
Isn't that a great lesson? Thanks for watching!
still can't get it.
but you sound like john malkovich fyi
It's been eluding me forever too. But this is the best vid I've found on the subject.
The subtitles interfere with seeing the picture area that matters. Get rid of the subtitles please. No need for that.
Hey Wilfred - I saw your other comment. Glad you got it sorted.
