  • This is a quick rig rundown for the band Saosin that I did FOH work for. I'd like to give a quick shoutout to Sweetwater for supplying what we needed for the tour and if you need anything audio related I would recommend using them to get it!

This is so sick. As a sound engineer and Saosin fan this content is exciting to watch.

Thanks for going to the effort of sharing this. I found your approach to micing the drums particularly interesting. Often see people (guilty myself) trying to mic drums on stage the same way they would in a studio, but as you said, in most venues you're going to have a fair bit of acoustic sound direct from the kit to the audience. So the mics are just there to augment that. Different requirements call for different mic positioning.
Awesome video. Love to nerd out to more in depth tech stuff. 🤘

For sure this channel will have a mixture of nerd audio, music, and just fun info in the industry. Hope you enjoy! Still learning as well; but I try to share everything! And maybe I might even learn something from a comment if I’m doing something wrong 😂

It´s amazing how full they sound with this minimal setup, also what are you using for clamping the mics to the cymbal stands?

Yo, sick video. Love saosin! Mind showing the guitar/bass rig? I know Beau posted a rundown on his channel but it would be cool to see how it all works together. Also, what are you using for clamping the Underheads to the cymbal stand?

I don’t see why not when I work with them again in June 👍

Sell that Midas m32 or whatever and get a digico, you’ll thank me later. Also trade the g3/4 sennheiser stuff for wisycom. It’s broadband so you aren’t limited to a narrow range.

Planning to get a DLive Cti1500. Cost of everything is so high I would love to move to other boards but I work with what I got 🤙
