I love these movies, they are one the best examples of gun action you can find. Keanu spend hundreds of hours training with real guns in preparation for these movies. I've been looking forward to this for over a year for this to drop and was excited to buy one and now I have to wait till the next thing that comes along. I'm disappointed in our society that we can't recongize that movies are movies. Apparently based on this thought process it's not an issue to kill someone with a knife or sword, or pencil. Here's hoping JJP doesn't mess up the Matrix now!
To me... Having a John Wick game without firearms... It is very strange. This would be like having a John Elton game without a piano. A firearm is essentially John Wicks main tool. They could have made it so that firearms are in it, but there aren't actually showing anyone being "eliminated". I don't completely understand the decision from the license holder to exclude them all together.

The game looks like it will be a fun layout. I think it would have been nice to have a gun plunger or bring back the gun triggers like Demo Man (those are so awesome).
But really, what I am more reluctant about are the toys. I get that John Wick probably shouldn't have necessarily any cool toys, but I lament the lack of toys in games lately unless it's just a bash toy. Jaws has the ORCA but really no toys (bash JAWS toy). Foo Fighters, bash captive ball. Venom, symbiote locks, which I would argue are not as elegant as GOT's lock system. Bond on a wand...
What happened to like the JM Cyber glove, the Shadow's Arkanoid-style upper playfield, even T3's RPG gimmick? *sigh*
Not to nitpick but as of last year (2022) a Stern Pro is: $7K, Premium $9,700, and LE is $13K.
LE’s still available. It will drop in price and will be like Venom.

I was in on an LE pre release. After the release it looks so cheap, that I don’t even want to play it.
i understand fully why people are upset about the guns. if gomez is infact honest about the gun thing, i would have said listen if we cant have guns in this machine then its simply a no go for us to go forward with this license.
many other pinballs have had guns on them. stern could have pointed that out to them , instead of accepting their terms.
like hey listen we did deadpool , guns clear as daylight on there. 007 has guns on the game.
I mean what would the silly reason be for the studio to say hey listen we dont want guns in this machine? so the next john whick movie, no violence then i guess? silly really.

Played it this weekend at GSP and was disappointed not just for lack of theme props but poor design. I did enjoy Jaws a lot more.

i think the game itself looks fun, however i will not buy this machine at all. To me this is jurassic park without dinosaurs, jaws withouts sharks
If Lionsgate was so concerned about guns, maybe they shouldn't make the movies. If they do, they should back it up, not wuss out.
The theme will likely appeal to most of Stern's customer base. Theme is more important than ball play in a machine's popularity. Jaws is a big hit because everyone loves the story. Venom is a bust in most places i visit. Almost no one plays it, because no one cares about Venom. Wick should be a huge hit for the content. I am thrilled Stern took on such a character in a Cancel Culture & Woke Society.
Pretty soon they will be changing saying shooting the pinball to launching the pinball. Whether it be in the art or a gun shooter it was a poor decision by Stern to omit. What ever happened to choice, make a model premium/LE with or without gun art or a gun toy. Stern should have passed when lions a$$ said you can’t! I hope they take a bath on this game and learn a lesson. Stern should stand up to WOKE and not give in.
Gomez’s statement is serious damage control. “The brand wouldn’t let us use guns” is absolutely absurd. Don’t make the game then! It’s that easy! This franchise literally lives on guns. Not having them anywhere on the machine is beyond strange. There are tons of themes out there. John Wick isn’t one anyone was hoping for, no one.
I'm surprised no one knows about this gun business go look at Call of Duty. None of the guns are named after the actual guns. The models are there but not the names. You have to pay license fees to every firearm manufacturer for each different gun that appears in the game. This happens in video games all the time with guns and cars. I can see why Lionsgate would say no because they don't want to pay for all that again.
Real-world restrictions... meh. No such drama in the digital world - we go all-in and have the best games.

If the biggest complaint Pin whiners have to cry about is no gun on the art, I think Stern have done well tbh.
I think there’s way too much misinformation and misunderstanding of the game. Yes the art work has no guns, it’s stated that Lionsgate was the determining factor in that. Keanu Reeves also has clauses in his contract that call for his approval to all digital edits and digital representation in each movie. People are forgetting that licensing something also involves the dealings with multiple contracts and stipulations within those contracts. FOR EXAMPLE, the gun manufacturers that have license contracts with Lionsgate may have stipulations that they can’t use them in third party representations. I completely get it that it’s weird to have the guns missing but I also think it’s creating an unnecessary shitstorm. There are over 45 mins of assets per Stern and Stern has stated that there will be action sequences within those assets that show Wick using firearms in the movie (first party assets)… anyone says otherwise is making it up or believing another uninformed sourcr

I think the guns controversy is a perfect example of the quick to judge absurd nonsense that goes on in the pinball community. Faux outrage for clicks on everything. It is impossible for everyone to get everything they want all the time. Buy what appeals to you and move on from what doesn't.
