    Anyone remember when this was just taught as the Togakure Ryu? You could only get this training at the Shadows of Iga seminars. Anyone?......No? Damn, I'm old. Thanks for the vid! I really enjoy seeing the Go-dai being kept alive. It really made it easy for us gaijin to understand energy in motion. Thanks again, be safe!

    I love the comparison of the classical vs more modern practicality of the techniques 👍🏾.

    Osu! Excellent Taijutsu pointers!
    I found that Taijutsu is the Best overall most Effective Maritial Art for Real World combative situations. As to having been in Real Deal Combative situations as an LEO.
    I am very grateful to my Kyokushinkai Karate Shihan Richard Wolicki who extensively taught us Taijutsu. Such saved my life and others!
    Take your Taijutsu (Father of Jujutsu) circular art training very dedicated and seriously, it will save your and others lives!
    Real world combative situations showed me that while the, Karate techniques are important to master, the Taijutsu circular techniques are the more used and practical -effective techniques more so then the Karate strikes as you do not want to be in a "Rockem,Sockem" standoff, you want to immobilize and defeat your opponents using their force momentum against them to quickly as possible overcome them.

    So you have this technique but with different elements? Fire, water, etc?

    • @thedojomartialarts
      @thedojomartialarts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, five elemental options, plus inside (ura) outside (Omote) and also Left and Right. etc. The options are almost limitless depending on how he next reacts?

    What is your opinion on tai chi as a foundation for martial arts to build off

    • @thedojomartialarts
      @thedojomartialarts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure. Great for your legs and breathing. Depends on your personal martial art goals and what you want out of them? Not sure how practical it is in modern self-defense? Will depend a lot on the teacher and if they use it for realistic attacks, etc. Hard to answer that one...

    Concentrating on technique is not the way to teach self defence, you should concentrate on training the mind to cope with violence and extreme violence. to cope with the adrenaline dump and how it both affects the mind and the body, once that has been done then move on to physical technique. Simply because the fight is won or lost in your head.
