It happened over the pandemic when Vic Firth and Zildjian partnered up. Unfortunately, a lot of groups which march IP and Zildjian were either reduced to half-sponsorships or stripped of them. I think SCV figured it would be better in the long run to fully switch than play the whole halvesies game. (Only reason I know is it happened to the group I was in, they switched us to Vic Firth sticks despite using IP for over a decade because they didn’t want to lose the Zildjian sponsorship)
