U can override the idle shutdown by pushing in the yellow truck air supply and keep the trl parking applied to keep truck from moving and the truck won't turn off
hey rusty I get that you don't like the Cummins engines but once you figure out how they work and you've driven with them for a while You'll never want to go back too a Detroit or Volvo engine EDIT oh and Btw that idea shut down thing is a Cummins thing not the rental truck company, all you got to do it set the cruise while in neutral and that activates the high idle so it wont shut down on you.

If you push up on the bottom of the camera housing it’ll pop off the windshield mount. Put a little piece of black electrical tape over the lense and put the camera back on the windshield mount. Problem solved. Do not try unplugging the camera. The speakers will just keep cycling like they do when you turn on the key.

The cascadlas in my company have idle shut down as well. What I’ve noticed though is that as long as the A/C is on, the engine doesn’t shut down. I’ve heard the same is true if the heat is on. Not sure though if outside temp in conjunction with A/C or heat use is factored in. I’m in SoCal where it gets pretty hot, so A/C is always on. Just got issued a 2022 model myself so still figuring out all the quirks. Trucks in our fleet have the dd15 which so far have been great. AMT is much improved compared to the one in my old cascadia. The only thing I don’t like is that when backing up tp hook up, the truck sometimes wants to “run” and slam into place. I have a feeling it has to do with “creep mode,” which I’d like to figure out if it can be turned off.
Try turning off the ASC it'll abort creep mode but it's strange in my 2018 sometimes she'll creep and I have to pump the brakes and other times she doesn't. But turning off ASC seems to work. Stay up, driver.
While you are at ryder ..have them to program your transmission to operate to your liking .. like the creeping mode ,too much delay before moving,or how quickly it shifts etc..maybe they can turn off the neutral mode and creeping mode and too slow mode while you're at it..🚛👍

Rusty deleted the beat up Cascadia for a crispy new one, will have to watch to see if he got the digital dash.
Check whether it is subject to the steering recall, several of these have had a steering failure from loose bolt, also some with the Cummins engine and grass-burner exhaust have caught fire because of an improperly angled exhaust tip overheating the battery box.
You see so many new cascadia and you forget about the older ones and you're like "what happened to the older ones"
I cant tell any difference exterior wise between the 2018 he had and the 2022 just the chrome grille/bumper and no front apron on this one

as always, great Video Rusty! 😃 The Cascadia looks very nice and i would like to know how many hp the X15 has. about the the adaptive cruise control... yes, heated/cooled seats would have been better instead of this, but i guess you can´t really choose what the Truck should be equiped with? i hope they will fix the idle issue for you... ✌👍
push in yellow knob but leave red knob engaged and you can idle without the truck shutting the engine off

That cummins motor is a lot better than Detroit.

And the worst thing in the world about those automatic manuals along with the adaptive cruise control is when it goes into neutral all the time at any speed in cruise control or not like its some kind of high it gets when it does it ..like it really helps..I don't think so bro! A thorn in my side and been some!!
I just started driving, and my trainer had a freightliner, 2018. Did the same exact thing, and that was my biggest pet peeve with the truck. I rode with the truck in jake brake setting 1 to prevent it from going to neutral. My company gave me a 2019 Volvo (I know, it’s a Volvo) but surprisingly, the truck is faster than the freightliner and it doesn’t go into neutral when you let off the fuel
@@lukasrosa9974 yeah plan on getting a new Volvo and I hope that it doesn't have the mitigation radar and the transmission economy mode that goes into neutral .but hoping that you can go to the dealership like I saw a dump truck company does, Peterbilt dealership programs how they shift and perimeters for the driver's how they want

Great engine! Better than the ISX. I've got a 2020 and just unplugged the center camera. Problem solved. Ryder will take the shutdown off. Look into some tuning shops. They can tune the engine and get you another mile per gallon from the Cummins. Good luck!

Pay off that truck ASAP and convert it into a glider kit. Don’t idle it the parked regens will damage the engine even after it’s been fixed.

I'd rather pay for a Volvo than win a free cascadia. There's more recalls every month, and electrical harness for all the new unnecessary computer controls are burning. That model in your video reminds me of the Bone Stock Chevy truck with hand crank windows and AM radio😂😝
rusty on the lane assist..just unplug the speaker wires..then u can use those same speakers for your CB speaker... I hate the lane assist and idle assist..I got Ryder to turn mines off .
You can bring the idle up using the circle button at the 3 o'clock positron next to the cruse control/resume. But that likely won't fix the timer/shutoff. That relies on physical throttle position with the gas pedal. The only way to reset the timer is to touch the pedal. You can apply 1500 rpm consistently and the timer will begin it's countdown again. It will only reset when you move the legal again with your foot.

I don't know if that does it you turn the cruise control on hit the up button it'll keep the idle going it won't shut off
push CC and push it up 50 rpm over idle and it will be ok ;)
Put on trailer breaks and release tractor breaks - the engine won't shut down (temporary fix) until you get to Ryder. If Penske and Ryder care about their trucks, they should put APU on them
Just got out of a 21 Cascadia. Good luck with all their electronics, I would never own one.

mann u gotta use opti idle, double tape that button that looks like a peice of paper on ths right side of steering wheel and than press ok! keeps ya apu running all night and inverter from draining ur battery, also if u got that buzzer thing on tha side ahh man its terrible.
Hey as I've said in one other of your video you should be able to turn off curse control where it is standard etc the more you make around with more problems you'll have as for topping out at 65 you could get it tuned up after the 1st service my g500 scania tops out at 95km/hour and carry more payload

i remember i i worked for a trucking company in 1982 they had 150 trucks in mn i got hired ill never forget going to get my 1978 transtar11 as the night wore on the over the road drivers would come in and i had to leave at 4am they would back my truck up so they could back their tractors in and i had to cold start their trucks move them out to get mine out i still remember my eyes burning from the smoke.even with both shop doors open it would choke ya.i do remember a 1980 transtar eagle fancy truck with old school pinstriping he was otr and i hated moving that truck it was nasty smelled like body oder and was nasty inside which was sad it was a nice duel exhaust 400 cummins 13 speed stacks where not even chrome anymore it was never washed.i was like 24 then and thought how can one be such a good driver but not care about that fancy truck most of us had lesser trucks.i did get to drive that nasty eagle one day for a local run 120 miles roundtrip and that thing flew i hit 80mph easy empty 55 foot dryvan that thing flew not sure if it was turned up or what but it blew my 350 cummins 13 speed outa the water
I have the 2020 cascadia with 410k miles. And i get a shudder only when pressing the gas between 25-40mph.
There's a button on the dash where you can turn off the lane departure system it lasts for about 10 to 15 minutes at a time then you have to hit the button again.

Here’s how you idle all night… release the tractor brakes but keep trailer applied. Choke ur wheels if u want. With tractor brakes released truck will never shut off!! It will idle all night.

If you’re leasing this truck Rusty 65mph is a no bueno brother. I would highly suggest you contact someone ask them to turn it up to at least 70mph. The Cummins motor IMO is just as good as the DD15 “except” the gas mileage won’t be anywhere near a DD15. I have a 2021 day cab with a Cummins and I avg 7.4-7.8 depending on how heavy I am. And that’s at 68mph the entire time I’m on the interstate. Congrats but get that speed up 👍

If you don't use ryders insurance, go back to them and tell them to unlock it from 65mph, they usually move it to 69mph 70mph
Only trucks where ryder give insurance they will lock at 65mp
