    Nice consistency with the challenge Vibes.
    I wondered if foraging would be included in your rules for the challenge? By foraging I mean like picking fruits off trees .

    • @TrinbagoVibes
      @TrinbagoVibes  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks Ricky, initially I did include picking fruits from my mango tree, but eventually just stuck with what I bought

      Most definitely, but then again I find myself not really wanting to go to those big restaurants, lol

    With $400, you could have purchased a small chicken with your peas, flour etc in the beginning and utilize it ever so often with your meals. Some groceries sell pumpkin, bodi etc as well so those items could work as well.

    • @TrinbagoVibes
      @TrinbagoVibes  ปีที่แล้ว

      True, had I spent all of it in one go, but I wanted to try $100 per week and see what I could have gotten at a different grocery each week

    Sandwich loaves tend to be quite light and don't fill you up. I suggest you use the flour with just 1pkt of yeast and make bread or bake. It will go with cheese or tuna..or sardine etc and last longer. Also prices at S and S Persad is always great. Get some green fig and if you are looking for chicken..the thighs are the cheapest and very versatile.

    • @TrinbagoVibes
      @TrinbagoVibes  ปีที่แล้ว

      You’re absolutely right Karmini, didn’t even think about green fig cuz I have in my back yard, unfortunately they weren’t ready yet and yeah I was planning to make a bread, but I went the lazy route

    $400 too tight, doable, but too tight for me. I would add a $150 to $200 and stock up on some meat, eggs, and that butter you miss out on. $550 for the month is pretty reachable by most individuals in T&T

    • @TrinbagoVibes

  • @shqa574

    Nice to see your split personality. LOL You have carryover items for week 4, so you should have money in the budget for chicken. did you season the lentils and chickpeas with curry powder?

    • @TrinbagoVibes
      @TrinbagoVibes  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lol, yeah definitely getting chicken the next rounds and I didn’t even think of adding saffron to the lentils but it has been added to the peas

    • @shqa574
      @shqa574 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TrinbagoVibes I keep thinking of cooking curry chick peas, and adding lentils. I have uncooked basmati and jasmine rice staring at me in the fridge. I could go vegan for a week.
      Rajeev, I have an idea for a curry video for you, for the next year. You could do an international curry hopping video with Trinidadian, Guyanese, Chinese, Japanese, Pakistani, Sri Lankan, Thai food, and come up with the best tasting curry. I am sure you have all those countries' cuisine in Trinidad, and maybe more. You could make a documentary out of it.

      @@kurtnelle well 5 lbs less, but apart from my possible low metabolism, it’s also possible that the body is preserving for now as it’s not getting a balanced diet or at least enough, so it’s conserving all that carbs intake, well that’s my speculation

      Okay first of all that wasn't the point on this video if you read the caption you would have known. Secondly he specifically said it was just food-wise (excluding gas,bills etc.) Thirdly the video is very informative, it's not him just stuffing his face it's actually shows good budgeting and a great way to save money, cause let's be honest not alot of ppl budget well and spend tons of money on food a week.
