    The sign hitchhiking was funny. I rarely make a right turn on red because of the game mechanics, I usually end up with a ticket so I just wait it out. Usually don't use my signal so I will try that. Be glad no one thought to put fines in for cutting through a blocked area...rofl. The parking was a little off but I'd have never been able to not hit those trailers so... GOOD JOB. Be blessed

    • @ZillaBlitzPC
      @ZillaBlitzPC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I kind of gave up for a while making right turns on red for the same reason, but lately I was on a run of success. The signaling is a key though. If you don't signal, it's an automatic fine.

    To get adaptive cruise to work I think you have to switch cruise on with "c" first, then press the button you've mapped for adaptive cruise. Another great video

    I lived in Santa Fe for quite a few years. The Albuquerque Junction is the meeting of Interstates 25 and 40. Locals have a less kind name for it, not suitable for a family channel.
    And, yeah, the game is pretty accurate with New Mexico traffic.

    • @ZillaBlitzPC
      @ZillaBlitzPC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting, thanks! I see some references to "The Big I" on the Internet, it does look pretty massive come to think of it.

    • @larrymerithew7518
      @larrymerithew7518 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      "The Big I" is part of it, but locals add another word in the middle to make it a more scatological reference.
      Too bad the game doesn't really do justice to La Bajada. That's the ridge south of the city. In real life, coming north from Albuquerque, it's a stretch about 3 miles long with more than a 3,000' elevation increase. Your current truck would hit the bottom at 75, and struggle to stay above 30 by time you reached the crest.

    • @ZillaBlitzPC
      @ZillaBlitzPC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do think New Mexico does show its age as one of the earlier DLCs in the game. They've really upped their game since that time.

    The confluence of roads reminded me of spaghetti junction in the UK. It's not the prettiest but I guess most UK drivers have heard of it.

      I think I've heard of spaghetti junction here in the US. Is it referring to a junction in the UK? That's odd that I'd have heard of it.

    I liked the adaptive cruise control to begin with, but it quickly became annoying. Speaking of turn signals, I have mine mapped to the top left and right buttons on my G27 wheel; you can tell you have been playing ATS too much when you start looking for the turn signal buttons when real life driving...

    • @ZillaBlitzPC
      @ZillaBlitzPC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha! Yes, I can totally relate to that. Yeah, I'm not so inclined to think that I'll like the adaptive cruis control, but I want to give it a shot with an open mind. :)

    When the game traffic gridlocks, I use the console: g_traffic 0 then g_traffic 1. That turns the traffic off and back on again. (Sometimes the gridlock can be a single vehicle in front of you on a single-lane ramp that refuses to move.)

    • @ZillaBlitzPC
      @ZillaBlitzPC  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's good to know that trick, thanks! I kind of like the challenge of getting around some of these things, but I can see a time when the game just doesn't give us an option. That'll be handy to know. :)

    To turn on Adaptive cruise control you first must have it on in the Game Settings and set the distance options (I'd rec always the closest distance). Then in game press your normal cruise control to on (No special key needed to turn on adaptive ) and then it will take over and slow you down based on what distance you selected, just be aware it wont be any good for sudden stops so always be prepared.

    What's strange about the left blinker is that as soon as you started turning right it should have popped out of the left position, but it just stuck there. Time to go back to a dealership and have your steering column checked.

    You were playing with fire when you were crossing that rail crossing at Albuquerque. If you do that in Europe in your MAN, you'll get fined big-time! When that crossing lights flash and the bells clang, you gonna stop, because the train's coming! I just saw a video of a truck whose trailer, which was full of bottled salsa, got OBLITERATED by a Norfolk Southern train. Next time, when the rail crossing warning units activate, just do the sensible thing and stop. You wanna set an example to your younger viewers, right?

    • @ZillaBlitzPC
      @ZillaBlitzPC  ปีที่แล้ว

      That might have been playing a bit with fire, yes!

    OK, I can forgive the "just smash a sign to go around a car stalled in an intersection" since you DID show us the problem, and in real-life, people WOULD have started to inch around it to get moving somehow.
    What I can NOT excuse is coming up on a railroad signal that was flashing red, and NOT looking each way--even big-rigs LOSE TO TRAINS! Yes, the arms weren't down, but that was a risk no one should ever take. If you had stopped and looked, or even made a look while coming up on it since you were complaining you have no get-up-and-go, but to just motor through it?

    • @ZillaBlitzPC
      @ZillaBlitzPC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely a walk on the wild side with that train crossing. I did have a good sense that from peripheral vision that nothing was coming (trains cross very slowly there), so I felt fairly comfortable making the move. Probably should have given a better look though, you're right. :)
