Portfolios are a great classroom assessment for students. Portfolios measure student growth over longer periods of time than normal assessments. This video will begin by explaining some of the reasons why a teacher would want to use a portfolio as a student assessment. The video will continue by offering some ways to show teachers how to incorporate student portfolios into the classroom. The video will also describe what types of subjects you may find student portfolios. Other types of portfolios can be used to assess student skills. The video offers many examples of contents that can be found in the portfolios. Some of the contents include essays, art, graphs, journaling, standarized test scores, and other classroom assessments. The video will ultimately end with a variety of tips being offered to teachers that wish to implement this assessment into their course.

It was parent interview afternoon at the school I was teaching. As I entered the main hallway I met a female colleague standing in the doorway of her classroom. "No parents yet?" I enquired. "Oh yes, there are three sessions going on right now." There were three students, one in each corner, going through their portfolios with their parents. Absolutely awesome!

I never had to do this outside of a business class during my k-12 education, and I think giving students exposure to putting ome together is a great idea!

Right! I took my test today & this question came up but there was 2 good answers but now I realized I selected the wrong one lol it was document student performance or students achievement over time in milestones (something like that) ugh 😢

This is a nice overview of what portfolios are, however, I recommend not using this type of music or just not making it as loud. IT was hard to hear the person talking to us.
