cd is a constant coefficient and as such, independent from height and width. Air resistance is the product of cd and frontal area (cd x A). But yes, a cd of 0,3 is indeed good.
Did you see the 1 in Poland? The guy dropped a fiat 2lt twincam in the engine bay, lowered and big alloys and a satin black paint job....looked awesome
There is still newer car of this model an you can buy it but not as newly made car, the newer model looks very better than this one in the video, thing is that in my neighbourhood there is 1 per those 2 models!

I have had the exact same Multipla, JTD 1.9 for 20 years. A fantastic car, which I still regret today. Super comfortable both on short trips in the city and on long journeys on the motorway. Roomy, versatile, easy to handle. It was among the cars that I appreciated the most, and I have had many cars, but the Multipla was the number one car for me. But a piece of advice: with the engine cold, don't accelerate, as you did at the beginning of the video, and if I may advise you, avoid driving with slippers: rather drive barefoot (so you can feel the pedals much better).
i drive a new Mercedes with dozens of screens and cars like this always make me remember that its a piece of metal that brings you from A to B in the end.. I could save so much money driving a shitbox like this and its probably more fun to drive too
Had one of these in the gasoline version. The 1.6 is literally pointless unless you drive around avoiding hills and especially alone (which is pretty much not the whole point of this car) and screams on the highway due to gear ratio on the 5th gear (partially solved by replacing that with the turbodiesel's 5th gear). The 1,9 diesel is the proper fit, except that being an already front-heavy car the diesel engine will make it even heavier (you DO NOT want to have issues on the front end, that being either axle or steering components). Also, that load on the front axle and the not exactly sturdy components make for premature wear. They should've make the chassis out of aluminum, but those weren't great times for Fiat... hence the steel chassis and the quite old gasoline engine.
It feels and looks so weird to have the speedometer and all the stuff at the center instead of behind the steering wheel. Also I am very surprised at how dead quiet it was at top speed.
Love these, especially the pre face lift. You could actually get a body kit from Fiat. It was in their Brio parts book in bright green. Looked awesome, I love polarising cars, and the old JTD great engine, no point revving it past 4k though really, nothing up their😂I had a 1.9 8v mjet and a manual 2.4 Stilo, brilliant cars. Fiat were on a role in the early 2000's. Great vid👍✌
Congrats on reviewing this one: I enjoy you guys testing those hyper fast machines but the more humble and "slower" as well. My brother had a Punto Mk2 with the 1.9 JDT (85 HP) and the torque was incredible, pulled like a train. Unfortunately, the chassis handled poorly and his car had been involved in a significant crash, so it swerved like a drunken bailerina at high speed. Back to the Multipla, I was aware the 1.9 with extra HP would get more speed, but going over 180 KMH is a lot! A Portuguese magazine tuned one many moons ago and they remarked the acceleration beat a lot of more expensive autos.
Well well well that's awkward Exact year/model of mine (edit: it's what i drive daily) Edit after watching the video: I didn't expect it to reach 190 kh/h I never push my car above 3000 rpm XD I didn't know it could go to 5000
When I see the title - Multipla and top speed i have to see it. But in fact Multipla is ugly, but handling is quite well, it is reliable with diesel and practical. But rust....
It was designed with only practicality in mind. Everything looks the way it does for a reason. The low windows give great visibility all the way round the car and the cabin has a lot of light. The floor of the car is completely flat and the seats can be removed. It might not be pretty but the design is genius.
What is your opinion of the Multipla? I can only tell you that it drove really well and the engine is first class...
Try peugeot 504 best line and its wagon.
Respect a real opinion
Ugliest exterior, handiest interior 😄
Yeah one problem it's a fiat
Very good and very ugly
For 115 hp diesel and the aerodynamics of a brick wall, it is actually pretty good, and the engine is quite bullet proof tbh
It's a very common misconception that the multipla has bad aero; it really doesn't, has a very low drag coefficient
@leuchtrakete7093 has a cd of 0.3 which is very low for a car of its height and width, means it's quite aerodinamically efficient
cd is a constant coefficient and as such, independent from height and width. Air resistance is the product of cd and frontal area (cd x A). But yes, a cd of 0,3 is indeed good.
@@Spect8er1Good cd but big frontal area
Did you see the 1 in Poland? The guy dropped a fiat 2lt twincam in the engine bay, lowered and big alloys and a satin black paint job....looked awesome
Multipla may be ugly, but you can't deny that it's a very practical workhorse.
Richtig. Für den normalen Alltag besser wie ein SUV. Große Scheiben, gute Übersicht. Leider gibt's das Auto nicht mehr.
