  • Rush is one of the most prominent rock bands in the industry, and some even claim they have heavy metal elements in their music. Their bassist and vocalist, Geddy Lee, once spoke about metal music and one of its representatives, Metallica. Keep watching to see what happened between Geddy Lee and Lars Ulrich.

I certainly do consider Geddy Lee and Cliff Burton as two of the top bass players ever.

[No way Geddy could work with Lars after being used to Neil. Inconceivable.]

You don't know what you're talking about. Lars was friends with Neil Peart! Lars is a fine drummer. Just listen to Metallica albums. Hell, listen to his isolated drum tracks! He's amazing! Mike Portnoy, Joey Jordison, Mario Duplantier, and Brann Dailor all love Lars! I think they know a little about drumming! As a matter of fact, Brann Dailor just ranked Lars the second best Metal drummer of all time. Check out the video and hear why!

[@@MikeysMorgue YOU don't know what YOU'RE talking about. To illustrate: Neil could easily play Lars's parts, but no way in hell could Lars play Neil's. Lars is only good in Metallica.]

@@getwhatyougive You are so full of yourself! You obviously don't know anything about drumming. You're a sheep that follows what imbeciles say. All you have to do is listen to his isolated drum tracks! Can you write better drum beats and songs than Lars? If so, post them! I want to hear your brilliance! And, by your logic, the drummers I just mentioned that love Lars don't know what they're talking about either. I'm pretty sure they know more about drumming than you ever will.

The ending riff of Welcome Home sounds just like the Tom Sawyer!!

Now that would surely tarnish the Rush legacy.

Maybe if geddy had worked with them you’d be able to hear bass in mix

Master of puppets ended up being a masterpiece anyway. But.. had geddy worked with them? You can bet the drum sound would be alot tighter forcing Lars into practice insanity. the bass would have a warmer richer and fuller sound. Rush are perfectionists. They are one of the tightest sounding bands on the planet.discipline was their #1 mantra. Something early metallica didn't have much of. Not sure if geddy would have the patience for it. Talking about something isn't the same as doing it

I read an interview with Geddy Lee back in the late 80's, where he said he would love to produce a record with Metallica and so I always wondered why they didn't take him up on that idea... I think Geddy could help them go in a different direction musically!!! 👍😲🤞
