- Sabine drove my 996 GT3 MK1 @ Nürburgring for 2 laps.
8:09 BTG - Sabine's first lap in my car, watch what happens when we let the Cayman VLN Racecar (on slicks) pass us :-)
We chased the Cayman all through the second lap but he would not let us pass - ended with a 7:46 BTG, but no video as Harry's Lap Timer will not let you film two consecutive laps :-(
Best ride I have ever had :-)

Man she was taking it so easy before the Porche passes, then instantly she switches into race mode and runs down that porche. So cool, great driving!

I thought she was pushing it from the start but when the Cayman went pass she got fair dinkum, then she just didn't let go I could of watch a few more laps of this LOVE IT
It's worth noting that the Cayman appears to only be lugging a driver around the track, whereas Sabine and the car are coping with an extra body onboard. It's no small difference.

The second that Cayman overtook her, she stopped teaching and started driving.

She was driving at a relaxed pace for the first part of the track, then as soon as the Cayman passed her, you can clearly see how she picked up the pace. Amazing!
Superb! You can definitely tell when her fangs came out!. That should show 996 haters how capable the car is. What is perhaps more impressive from that video is the LACK of tire squeal and how well settled the car always is. Great Car, Great Driving, Great Vid.. .( I have a MkII 996 GT3 so I'm not exactly impartial)
i cant stop watching this from 6.35 onwards. Absolutely awesome. 2 brilliantly matched cars and the quality of driving is unreal. Pushing the limits of the cars to the millimetre. The adreanline rush when you are pushing hard and working a car like that is immense...but where the hell is the next lap!!!

Wow, that had to be the experience. I got tunnel vision and a bit nauseous just following her lines. Don't know how drivers can do it at speed. Give them all the credit.

Sabine continued and collected victories. Schmitz won in CHC and VLN race events, the VLN endurance racing championship in 1998, and is the first woman to win a major 24h race, the 24 Hours Nürburgring, in 1996 and 1997, all with a BMW M3 entered and co-driven by local veteran Johannes Scheid. In 2006 Schmitz and Klaus Abbelen drove the #97 Porsche 997 in the Nürburgring VLN endurance racing series, entered by Land Motorsport. They finished a strong third in the 24h 2008,

Super ! Auch wenn der 996 nicht der beliebteste Elfer ist.. ich würde den 996 Gt3 allemal dem 991 Gt3 vorziehen... solche Autos muss man selbst schalten und nicht mit diesem PDK Unfug den es nun als Serie gibt. Ich fahre zwar nur einen 944 S2 aber für den ersten Porsche reicht mir das =) Tolles Video weiter so!

PS: is this the standard exhaust you're using? Any other changes besides Pagid Yellow brake pads?

The near-series respectively production 911s, even the Turbos appear like fixed obstacles to me on this vid. She could drive the ring even with her eyes closed, I guess. She well knows and would realize every single bump with her "popometer".

The Porsche Cayman S is a great car and that one had to have been modified to keep in front of a GT3.
