This account is actually amazing. In my year 10 exams, with your help I managed to get a 6 in biology TRIPLE HIGHER with your help! Currently revising for my year 11 mocks in November. You deserve more credit. Thank you so much.

my teacher for chem just explains it in a long way which takes 1 hour cause he does the practical. I made notes but I don't understand them, this guy taught me quickly and now i understand.
I distinctly remember getting a grade 8 on my Chemistry synoptic last year ago in a test when I was at the start of Year 10. Guess what? It was because of Sir FreeScienceLessons!!

Thanks for the video sir. I'm currently doing my IGCSE and although these videos are meant for GCSE, there are some useful stuff which are common with IGCSE. Is it possible to have a "Ask a question" section in your website where we can ask questions to you? Thanks a lot.
Hello sir, I was doing a past paper and one of the questions was, 'why shouldn't we use methyl orange indicator' and it stumped me, how do i answer it?
if methyl orange is red in an acid, how come the solution is neutral once we add enough and it is red. surely that means the solution is acidic now, not neutral?
Thank you sir for the amazing videos! are you planning to do any other videos for other subjects such as math because that would be AMAZING!! and can you give me any advise for gcse biology (b1,b2,b3) because i am really worried
when will you be releasing biology and physics paper 2 as i need to finish my notes asap. this years gcses are in like 5 months. thanks for all the amazing videos so far. have all been extremely concise
Thank you for the amazing video I was asking if there was a video you made about how to prepare solube salts by the reaction of an acid and alkali by titration method. I think (if I'm not wrong) this video explains neutralisation, but not the preparation of a solube salt. Kindly, is there a video for this requested topic? Thanks in advance. 😊
With a titration reaction, you don't really have an independent and dependent variable as such. You are trying to determine the concentration of an acid or alkali so that would be the dependent variable (in a sense). Control variables could be the number of drops of indicator, the known concentration of acid (or alkali), the starting volume of unknown acid or alkali and ideally the temperature of the room.
Hi, I was wondering if I will loose marks if I write the chemical formula for the indicators instead of writing the name in my exam, eg C20H14O4 for phenophthalaein ?
Control variables would be things like the initial concentration and volume of sodium hydroxide, temperature of the room, amount of indicator added, etc.. Everything that should stay the same when you repeat the test. I'd say that dependent variable would be the colour change, independent would be the amount of acid added? I could be wrong on that though.
Generally a titration produces a soluble salt. An insoluble salt would produce a precipitate which would interfere with the colour of the indicator. However, there are titrations that do produce an insoluble salt but they're more for A level.
No you'd normally use an indicator with one clear colour change such as methyl orange or phenolphthalein. Universal indicator produces a range of colour changes so it's less clear-cut.

Why does the liquid curve at the top forming a meniscus? Why is it not just flat?
I want to know too
Water molecules are more attracted to glass than to each other. This causes them to climb the sides of the glass, forming a meniscus.

May I please know the independent, dependent and control variable for the titration reactions, thanks a lot.

Thnx so much for ur amazing videos! Idk why I didn't just watch these during lock down.
Sir would a titration be a 4 marker in the exam or a 6 marker?
It's usually a 6 marker in the exam but it can be 4 marks if they already give you some of the beginning steps.
Which practical is most likely to come up?
does anyone know if i am able to do sciences at A-level eventhough i got a b in science core last year?
