Throne of the North won the 1st composition-competition of the Philharmonic Society of Mantzaros in 2017 in Corfu, Greece, and the Orchestra-Award!
By the end of the 9th century, the Vikings had defeated all five English Kindoms. The entire country is in the hands of the invaders - except for a small marsh area. Here King Alfred von Wessex is hiding with a few loyal followers. Uhtred, a warrior in Alfred's ministry, knows the supremacy of the Viking Army. Nevertheless, Alfred wants to take a final, decisive battle. The pious king bets on God's help, but Uhtred is more familiar with his battle-sword. But the two unequal allies are perfectly united on one thing: if the last "Throne of the North" falls, this defeat would be the downfall of England.
