well out of all the other members they are the ones that have the most sour memories of that time. Dami absolutely despised the concept and being the maknae she had to keep up a cute bubbly image that was not her. Siyeon was just straight up uncomfortable lol. She was 17 at the time and the cute concept was really sexualizing them (especially wdyctmh). Even now, she rarely ever wears shorts and wears long pants whenever she can choose. Thats why it has been memed in the fandom - Siyeon x pants.

@@nii1877 please calm down. i get you feel protective because minx wasn't something anyone would want to experience (i'm not talking about the concept, but them almost having to disband), however, you have to understand that we don't know them personally. what we know is that that experience was heartbreaking for them, but people move on.
minx is a serious topic for them, for all we know they could've moved on from it by now (it's been years after all), or they're still slightly holding onto the thought that what happened to minx might happen again. it's all what ifs for us, because we don't know anything. meaning, you can't assume that it's a traumatic experience and they're not over it, just like how we can't assume it's not traumatic or make fun of it.
but which do you think would be better? trying to make a topic like minx more lighthearted, so that when you look back at you don't feel pain or anything of the sorts, but you feel just a little bit of embarrassment yet can laugh it off.
this is what i feel personally, but dreamcatcher is *trying* to do the latter when it comes to the topic of minx. why do you think handong and gahyeon (sometimes jiu) joke about it so much? because they're trying to make a bad memory for the other members something more lighthearted and sweet, instead of trying to completely forget it happened.

With Dami it’s not only the ‘trauma’ of Minx days not working out but also because she never liked cutesy concepts and hated it even back then. Personality wise she was the worst fit for it. Ironically the best out of the current bunch for that concept is probably Gahyeon who was not in Minx back then (but she and Handong still knows the dance due to learning it during trainee days).

Gonna be honest here. Dreamcatcher are the only ones that can talk about their past (when they were as MINX) and it's a little sad that it's being brought up on a regular basis now. Plus Siyeon is still traumatized by almost everything at the time as MINX. Siyeon said and quote that she refuses to listen to the songs, she even hates it too. She would cry and cry about it back then. That's why she wrote and sang her song Paradise for a reason. She's even happy where she's at, she's happy with dreamcatcher and with insomnias.

Minx's disbandment was literally traumatizing for the original group but i guess we're all just supposed to laugh when clearly it made everyone uncomfortable. like I dont think anyone realizes how deeply hurt that time was for them, where most of them were very upset to the point where they didnt want to continue doing music...but haha i guess??
There was a perfect statement that I've read in somewhere's thread, but basically, rather than making it heavy- hearted for everyone, let's just make it light-hearted for everybody and the girls, since Jiu always joked about the group's minx days. However, I won't disregard the fact that they may be traumatized since I know nothing, but I also won't disregard that it may be a funny, cringy memory, and also sad ofcourse for everybody and that they may have moved on it. In a general opinion, let's just leave minx as a light-hearted memory for everybody, but fans should not just bring up minx however they want, same to say to the fans that usually overplay the Minx days.
@@whippedforagroupcalleddrea5169 I understand that statement but if you read any interviews from the number of the girls about what that time was like i dont think its easy to just wave that away and especially when they are Visibly uncomfortable. im glad we can agree that the fans should not bring it up however they want. but i will not whitewash the history and real emotional trauma that they went thru. it wasnt the concept that makes them sad its the reality of them considering giving up on being singers. they were barely in their twenties and redebuting wasnt a common or successful thing at the time. minx should always be brought up with the real context of the situation
You do realize that this is lightly scripted and the girls had a rough idea of what was possible of being played right? I also doubt that if they had reacted with actual trauma instead of being more embarrassed than anything else, that would have never seen the light of day. The fact that it was kept in is pretty telling. (Also don't forget that we don't know if they were chatting to the staffs more about their Minx days or what because all of that footage was edited out.)
Were they hurt by Minx's disbandment? Yes, very much so. Siyeon is the one that arguably took it the hardest. (She was the one that couldn't stand to watch music shows.) But they picked themselves up, dusted themselves off, met Gahyeon and Handong, switched concepts and cranked the dial up to 11, ripped it off and ran away laughing. This is more like being faced with your teenage self doing what you thought at the time was a good job but you're kinda embarrassed looking back at it. They don't need to be put in bubble wrap and pretend like Minx never happened. They know it happened, we know it happened, and that now four years later they're finally getting comfortable enough with staffs and shows and with themselves that the company (because like I said, everything is scripted) is finally allowing some of these shows to bring Minx up.
I understand where you are coming from but I don't think fans should be victimizing the minx-5 as someone else said this is somewhat scripted and the members especially Jiu joke about it. The CEO said he took responsibility and learned from it himself. even if minx didn't go well I don't think us fans should Harp on it I get second hand embarrassment towards it because it's a far cry to what the girls do now but I don't gnash my teeth at it.
@Chris R yeah im not saying to boycott the channel or anything i just really hate when the fandom uses this as an excuse to bring it up all the time, on vlive, at fansigns, etc.
