I found this video very interesting, especially how the local farmers create one of the most unique landscapes I've ever seen to protect their crops. For a second I thought it was a natural landscape. Thank you for filming that.
Robert, those little walls around the vines are seen across the Canaries .. They keep the wind off. A farmer on Tenerife told me they`d been growing vines like that since Roman times .
What an extraordinary place and way to grow grapes, just goes to show the ingenuity of man when they want to get some booze. I wonder if a modified mountain/motor bike brake system could be adapted to control the way the gennaker unfurls, the way it is at the moment would frustrate me. I was drooling at the Tuna spread. Interestingly watched Jiro Dreams of Sushi documentary a while back and I think they age the Tuna before turning it into Sushi, I always thought it was fresh fresh. Anywho Cheers for the vid :D
Always enjoy your videos. Just a small observation, when you are flying the black and orange spinnaker I noticed in a couple of drone shots that the spi halyard didn't look all the way up, I thought this was not good practice as it allows the halyard to move around more leading to more chafe, I might be wrong though.
I’ll check the video but normally we put it all the way up to the eye on the mast where the halyard is lead down from the actual point where it comes out of the mast.
Nice videos, oh memories, we did it 5 years ago, would leave immediately again! Why are you not using the mainsail together with the A2, often I saw AWA of under 90 on your instruments, would be going quicker and more stable!
Thank you for sharing the video's and all the experiences ! It must take a lot of time and effort to film and edit everything. Just wondering : don't you miss a protected helm like on the lagoon ? Of course the helm folds down on this boat to be protected, but then don't you miss the elevated position ? Greetz, Bob
We were anxious to find out whether it would be a big difference during actual cruising. So far we didn’t miss it at all but let’s keep monitoring this
@@CatGreatcircle Whatever the case it is very enjoyable to set your sails and then "scallop"! Create apparent wind by going up10-15 degrees or until the luff starts to collapse then fall off to stabilize the luff and slowly ride the wave of apparent. Boat speed will go up and down. You will be judge and jury trying to find the sweet spot. And then repeat; with two fingers as opposed to two crew grinding and releasing. So simple, so easy, so enjoyable and so much faster
Great vid you guys. Love seeing the cats out prowling around the oceans of the world. Like minded friends enjoying life and each other. Love it. Dan
Your videos just keep getting better and better! 👏
Great video, thank you so much.

Trade winds Marijke, trade winds . ) Easy having a volcano around for a BBQ, no messing around with charcoal.

Here we couldn’t use the mainsail because of a problem with a bolt. We did use it with the main to Cabo Verde where we arrived last night

Little design flaw, already redesigned and replaced under warranty in the meantime so ready for the transat
Are there any Americans sailing among your fleet? Primarily ones from Southern California where I lived for 55 years? I'd like to say 'Hi' to them.
Yes there are a couple of Americans coming along, not sure about from which state they are
Did I see someone using the auto pilot to create apparent wind?
Possibly can’t recall whether we did it manually only
