Thanks for sharing - This is one of the most essential videos everyone should watch to understand how to travel from Incheon International Airport to Seoul Stations and hotels!
One of the BEST how-to vid I had ever seen. I am going to Seoul in Nov and am also thinking of taking the AREX Express to Seoul Stn. But my hotel is in the Jongno district so will have to change to the Line 1 at the Seoul Stn. Thank you very much for uploading such a detailed and well-explained video about everything, from how to get to the REX platform, buying the train ticket and even buying the T-card. Appreciate ! Tks bro ! 👍
Thank you so much! Your video is very helpful. I am traveling to Korea this November: it will be my first time to take Airport Express Train to Seoul Station. But I’m familiar with KTX as I’ve used it a few times in my previous travel back in April. Thank you again!
Just what I've been looking for! Thank you for putting the step-by-step instructions. This is super useful for me and my senior parents. Quick question, though - would you remember which exit will it be easier to book an Uber or to hail a cab? Thank youuuu and Godbless you guys!
The exit I was using (EXIT 15) is for me the best exit, as it is very close to all the trains we are using like AREX AIRPORT Express Train. Seoul Station is a very huge station and you can be lost inside. There are also parts of the station where you will even have to tap your train card again to go to the other side of the station. So for me, it is better to use the most simple EXIT like the one I used (EXIT 15) in this video. When you go back to the Seoul Station (like going back to the Incheon Airport), you should also use this (EXIT 15) as the entrance. Exit 15 from outside of Seoul Station is shown near the end of this video and is also used as the entrance.
Discounted fares I think are seasonal discounts based on advertising promos of airlines mostly Korean airlines to attract passengers to use their airline. You can check it in the information counter.
In our experience, we can only top up with Korean Money (Korean Won). Before going there, we already exchanged our money to Korean Won. Present your T-money card and cash (in Korean won) for top-up in Tmoney sales locations. You can top-up the card in the unit of ₩1,000, in the range of ₩1,000 to ₩90,000. The amount of money deposited in Tmoney card may not exceed ₩500,000. You can top up (recharge) your T-Money in the following locations: 1. Convenience Stores: GS25, CU, 7-Eleven, MINISTOP, Story Way, Emart24, 365PLUS 2. Subway Stations (Top-up Only) - Top-up machine including One-time ticket issuer, Tmoney vending machine, portable reload machine - Information Center 3. Others Tmoney Town (Seoul Stn Exit#10, Seoul City Tower 1F) www.t-money.co.kr/ncs/pct/ugd/ReadFrgnGd.dev
Can I just purchase a t money card and use it for Arex and subsequent subway instead of buying a single trip card ? Saw your video you get refund at Seoul station. Is it single trip ticket needs to do refund?
T money cannot be used for Arex Express train. This is becaue Arex is a different company than the Seoul Subway. You cannot use T-money for purchasing Arex Express train ticket. You can only use South Korean Won or credit card. However you can purchase the Arex Express train tickets online using credit card by going to www.airportrailroad.com/rt/tktBstk.do When you buy the ticket, you will get a receipt which shows your seat number and car number. Arex Trains passengers are assigned their own seat number and car number as all seats in Arex train are reserved seats. This is very different from the normal train where you can sit anywhere.
We booked at Hotel Wo. But I think there are many other hotels closer to Exit 15 of the Seoul Station you can choose from. What is nice about Exit 15 is it is very close to the AREX Express Train and even the bullet Train Station which is featured in the film "Train to Busan". It is also very nice that Google Map has been updated properly and you can just search for Exit 15 Seoul Station and the hotels can just be seen on the map. The Seoul Station is very huge and you can be lost inside but Exit 15 is very easy because everything is just close by. There are hotels now which are unattended, you just call the operator and the operator will tell you where, and how to get the keys of your room which really high tech. Have a happy trip. www.google.com/maps/search/Hotel+WO+in+Yongsan/@37.5525632,126.9675854,16.4z/data=!4m4!2m3!5m2!5m1!1s2024-04-29?entry=ttu
I'm planning on traveling with my 3 years 9month old boy. Do i still need to buy a 'child ticket' ? I heard that 3 years old can travel for free (this is true for ktx ) but i don't know whether this applied to arex as well.. Can you share any info regarding this?
Children 5 years old below are free of charge but you have to put them in your lap while seated. Children 6-13 years old enjoy discounted fare of 8,000 won. www.arex.or.kr/content.do?url=&menuNo=MN201503300000000003&contentNo=&clientLocale=en_US&clientDevice=Normal
When buying a ticket on a vending machine or the ticket counter, you will be assigned a reserve seat. You have to sit on the seat number and the car number you are assigned. If you are not sure, it is better to buy the ticket at the ticket counter where you can ask them what is your seat number.
We went to Korea in the month of April and it is sometimes cold up to 5 degrees centigrade probably because it is the first month of Spring. Typically lasting from April to June, spring is often seen as the best time of year to visit South Korea, with average daily temperatures a pleasant 15 - 18°C. During this time the flowers are in bloom and green spaces are bathed in the delightful hues of the pink cherry blossom. But for me I still would bring jacket in case it gets cold because 18 degrees is still cold.

do you have to reserve a seat?
When buying a ticket on a vending machine or the ticket counter, you will be assigned a reserve seat. You have to sit on the seat number and the car number you are assigned. If you are not sure, it is better to buy the ticket at the ticket counter where you can ask them what is your seat number.
How much cost to avail wifi?
I cannot recall. But it is not costly. We got the wifi because my simcard international roaming was not working.
