    actually Abyss is one of the safest Hardcore Wrestlers ever... he takes the most damage himself honestly (1000 thumbtacks, glass, Table Spots, barbedwire tables spots, tables lit on fire, cheese grater spots, and his own weapon named Janice (2X4 with Spikes hammered into it))

    I am not sure why Mick Foley on this list. He is one of WWE most popular wrestlers of all time.

      Massively watered down version of Foley.

    • @Flynn01979
      @Flynn01979 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@VillaFanFTW How? You mean that he wasn't running into C4 anymore? He still did some amazing things during his time in the WWE. Even if it wasn't as crazy violent as his pre WWE career. His Undertaker cage match for example where he almost died.

    • @amer1canbea5t89
      @amer1canbea5t89 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Mick Foley everyone knows now is nothing like the Mick Foley that everyone knew before he got to WWE...believe it or not, what we got in WWE was the watered down version. Yeah he still did some crazy shit during his WWE career, it was few and far between. Before WWE he was involved in crazy shit at every show.

    • @Flynn01979
      @Flynn01979 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@amer1canbea5t89 I know about pre WWE Mick Foley. I'm fine with the Foley we got. The blowing himself up with C4 isn't something I really needed to see anyways. The Foley who would get thrown off of a steel cage and have his tooth end up in his nose was good enough for me.

    • @amer1canbea5t89

      Laughing Man if you know about pre-wwe foley, then why say you don't know why foley is on this list...pre-wwe foley was to unhinged for wwe

      damn cuz Abyss and James Storm are like the last two hold overs i wish would jump ship. I jumped off TNA when AJ Styles left cuz they wanted him to take a paycut even though he was THE guy. Started watching WWE when he came on. Then Samoa Joe jumped and Bobby Rude and i was like now if we can just get Abyss and James storm i could have all my fav TNA guys here XD. Beer Money would have to be rebranded but i mean they worked great together. James storm was on NXT for like 1 match and then left back to TNA. And i would love to see Abyss and Taker/Kane do an angle XD

    • @grabbity
      @grabbity 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      WorldWearyAngel asking AJ to take a pay cut is the exact opposite of what WWE would have done. They tend to reward the guys who've been there forever as opposed to screwing them. The aj thing still blows my mind.

    • @missysimpson4630
      @missysimpson4630 6 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      Jashmeer Rampearie what's wrong with Rollins? Lol I think there's a lot of other guys that represent the pg era better. He's kind of badass

    • @maxxxmodelz4061
      @maxxxmodelz4061 6 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      Rollins is a solid wrestler and excellent talker. He would exceed in almost any era except maybe the cartoon era which was dominated by huge monster characters. I think the only thing missing in the PG era are good solid story arcs. We lack any sort of true storylines that get people invested these days. The attitude era had them, even the cartoon era had them.

    • @maxxxmodelz4061
      @maxxxmodelz4061 6 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      One other thing I'd like to add is that most people still think we are in the PG era, but that's not true. The PG era is over now, and we are slowly transitioning into a new era, which WWE are referring to as "Reality" era. We are slowly starting to see more shoot style matches, and even some blood being spilled "the hard way' in certain matches. Characters are leaning toward shoot style wrestling and more realistic gimmicks based on their overall look. The PG era ended, supposedly, with Taker losing to Brock to end the streak, so we will have to wait a few more years to see where this new era goes.

      Scott Steiner’s achievement:
      1) father of the pipebomb (shat on WCW and Flair) live on TNT and got suspended for it
      2) shoot fought DDP and won
      3) managed to overcome being buried by Warner’s board, WCW management, Hogan and Flair
      4) launched another Pipebomb on Flair the night he was reinstated
      5) shat on Hogan, WCW, and Flair through out his entire second run
      6) made Goldberg and Hogan take a leave of absence
      7) threatened to assault hogan and Flair live on TV
      8) went off script 95% of his promos
      9) Roid rage
      10) buried Triple h on WWE’s drug test
      11) got banned from the WWE hall of fame ceremony in 2015

      @jgfear 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      sdparker119 yes I heard but the word here is SUPPOSEDLY. I’m glad Brody never went to work for Vince. They would have turned him into a ridiculous cartoon character and most likely would have given a horrible gimmick like “ The Caveman “ or “ The Neanderthal “ or some stupid shit like that.

    • @mickhack8034
      @mickhack8034 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      no im pretty sure Brody would have remained Bruiser Brody as it would make him ALOT more credible for Hogan to beat. Brody would have put Hogan over, make no doubt it, if the money was right and it most certainly would have. Plus he was FAR to familiair and populair as Bruiser, so changing him to some gimmick would never have worked

    • @thevoid99
      @thevoid99 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      actually, they would've made him the berzerker as it eventually went to another guy who took some brody's mannerisms into the character.

  • @aegisofhonor
    @aegisofhonor 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Brody's problem with the WWWF was not that he was "too extreme" it was his backstage differences with Vince Sr. Brody was known as a "no nonsense" wrestler and did not like getting slighted and took it personal when he saw any kind of underhanded business dealings by the front office. This made him somewhat of an enemy to a lot of promotions finding haven only in World Class Championship Wrestling.

      @darrylbradley3568 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @GH7_Gaming
      @GH7_Gaming 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Martin Payne Technically you are not getting punched since the commentary team plays up on that close hand strikes are illegal in WWE and Japan. So you're technically getting slapped / palm striked...but i get your point. Im just a bit picky, sorry 😂😂😂

    • @Torthrodhel
      @Torthrodhel 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's one of the things that's wrong with modern style pro wrestling in general (and I mean that as opposed to historical style pro wrestling)... what they've made punches into. Realistically if you're punching someone in the head like that, one of two things is going to happen. Either the opponent's getting knocked silly because you caught them in the right spot, or your ungloved hand's getting broken since you didn't. I'm training to be a wrestler myself, and I don't like face punches at all. It's just stupid. I hope I'm not going to have to include them much... ideally not at all. Slaps and chops are much more fun - those you just do, nothing false about them. I can't say I've ever been able to point to any point in any match and say to myself "they really needed to do a punch there"... it's so redundant. Should just be cut out altogether. As for punch finishers... well maybe they wouldn't be so damn weak-looking if everyone didn't go around doing 100 punches on each other all the time! But as it is, they're pretty much the worst.

    Abdullah The Butcher's forehead is horrific but is nothing compared to Carlos Colon forehead. It looks like the Grand Canyon. Carlos Colon is the father of Carlito and Primo Colon. In the 80's and 90's he had multiple feuds with Abdullah. In one storyline Abdullah threw a liquid (I think it was arsenic) and left Colon blind for weeks. Both of them had multiple matches with the ring surrounded by barb wire... Good times.

    wow, not even 5 seconds in and we cut to an ad. Good one guys. The whole thing about Kevin Sullivan was a little simplified. First oof I don't think him running WCW had anything to do with him not going to WWE. Eric Bischoff was there for 3 years and he was the freaking president of WCW. From what I've heard is that Stephanie McMahon was going to give him an interview and she asked for a resume. His work should have spoke for itself. I think that she didn't know who he was more than anything.

    With the exception of a couple on this list, I don't think it was really a case of being too unhinged for WWE, more probable was because they couldn't wrestle and only got over doing hardcore garbage matches.

    • @daveglander1
      @daveglander1 6 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Agreed Erik... Just because you can cut yourself or your opponent open, doesn't mean you can wrestle. Some of the best wrestlers ever (Angle, Michaels, Jericho, Steamboat, Savage, Perfect, Rollins, Flair, Hart, etc...)have never needed to show blood to show how good they were in the ring. Hardcore wrestling was bullshit. It covered over how shit a performer was... Even Foley had his best performances (as he said himself in his book) when psychology and in ring story telling took over.

      And to your point, whenever any of those wrestlers you mentioned were involved in some kind of more brutal contest, there was always a story to it. Just go back and watch Flair vs Funk in their I Quit match, or any Shawn Michaels ladder match, that's how proper violent wrestling is done.

    Let an old fart give you the true story about the WWWF and the original Sheik: he worked often for Vince Sr. during the entire decade of the '60s, and was a member of the roster on at least two occasions. He feuded with Bruno, and they brought him into Boston Garden in 1973 for a couple of matches, one against Chief Jay Strongbow, and then on the very next card he got a title shot at Pedro Morales.

    If Brody would have lived longer, he would have played a significant role in the Monday Night Wars and in the Attitude Era. He would have still been a name and would have still been able to go like Flair & Hogan did. He would have played both Turner & McMahon for money and would have been able to contribute and play roles in the Wars and would have been hired by both companies.
