Historic Halifax, NC, is a WOW factor! The town currently has 162+ residents, which makes it more of a hamlet than a town. However, either way, it is a very special, beautiful, serene, peaceful, very clean, and exquisitely maintained place with a lot of wonderful US history. The way those buildings have been painstakingly restored with much love let's you know how much the people of Historic Halifax love their town and it's sterling history. That nice Esther lady you talked with knows the town's history very well and is obviously very grateful and appreciative of the accomplishments the native Halifaxian woman, who returned to her homestown on a mission to restore/revitalize the town center buildings, fulfilled that tasks spectacularly. Esther also shared her gratitude for the contributions the other townfolks made in supporting the restoration of the town and then ensuring its survivability and sustainability by working together. The town of Historic Halifax, NC, seems to be an awesome place to live that is a safe, kind, and close-knit community with beautiful buildings and homes everywhere. It could be a great place to retire! FYI - Historic Halifax, NC, hosts several annual festivals and events, including: (1) Halifax Day - April 12th. Commemorates the Fourth Provincial Congress's unanimous vote to sever ties with Britain on April 12, 1776. (2) Prelude to Revolution - Takes place April 13th & 14th to highlight North Carolina's role in the early years of the American Revolution. (3) Yuletide by Lanternlight - Takes place in December and features tours of homes, taverns, and public buildings decorated with natural holiday decor. Interactive vignettes bring each building to life, and guests can enjoy a fire in the Tap Room Tavern. (4) Halifax Harvest Days - This festival celebrates the heritage, agrarian culture, and Southern hospitality of Halifax County, NC. (5) Historic Halifax - Also offers many living-history events throughout the year and group tours. Thanks for making this wonderful video, Timothy! I really enjoyed it. GOD bless!
You struck gold when Esther wondered your way. A lot of good information there about the revitalization of the town. Loved the walk thru this (now) beautiful town Timothy.
Good video. Nice to see how Halifax has improved since my last visit many years ago. Very historic town for its size. The Halifax Resolves made North Carolina the first colony to direct its representatives to the Continental Congress to vote for total independence from Britain. The date was April 12, 1776 and is one of the two dates on the state flag of North Carolina, located in the scroll beneath the star.

Have you visited Huntersville yet?
Not yet. I have chosen Huntersville to be my last town in NC for a special reason that will be revealed in that video.
