Background: Suga had no support from his family with his dream of becoming a rapper. He was incredibly poor from his choice of being an underground rapper and often had to choose between eating or taking the bus home. Eventually he went to the company BigHit and became a part of BTS as an "idol rapper," because he was tired of starving. References: 1. The beep is supposed to censor the question psychiatrists typically ask their patients: have you self-harmed or attempted suicide? This subject is taboo in Korea and has ruined careers by bringing it up. 2. The concert is an incident at Kobe were Suga was unable to perform and allegedly had a serious panic attack. During one of his "vacations" he went back to it to sort out the guilt he had for not performing 4."Those days when I tried to sleep on the toilet floor" - a lot of people have suggested that it's his more poetic way of referring to when he tried to kill himself (sleep; see [1] as to why he wouldn't say this outright) 3. Show Me the Money is basically a reality TV show where people like Suga, RM, and J-Hope would go to seek out validation from the K-Hiphop community through staged rap battles. People give them shit for not going on it and thus not being "true rappers." Suga's point is that he doesn't need their fucking validation because doesn't give a shit about their idea of what a true rapper is. He's too busy being successful to give a damn.
Well said my friend, I second this! Everyone needs to read *Allison Ottavo* 's comment and I hope Dylan sees this one because it's everything I wanted to say and I'm pretty sure what every army would like to say when it comes to this song and to Suga.
I second this also. This by far is the best explanation I’ve read through Dylan’s comment section. Hoping Dylan gets to read this ‘cause this is what we all want him to know.
Thank you so much for doing this explanation, even tho ive been before RUN was released i never understood what that beep mean tho, or the bathroom floor thing... Im crying., THANK YOU SO MUCH
we should praise bighit as an entertainment company A LOT because they were brave enough to let Suga vent his feelings out, they were brave enough to let all members speak about social issues and they were brave enough to accept and love members with all their insecurities. It is truly rare and admirable. P.s I was confused when I heard Jungkook cried after listening to Yoongi's mixtape but after listening to all songs I totally get it. All of his songs are so real and raw that your brain stops functioning for a while as we are not used to this much honesty and truth coming from an idol. He eats sleeps and breathes music, I wish him all the happiness in this world.
VMIN IS LIFEU :] I think jungkook said it in a v live if I remeber correctly. They were promoting his mixtape af when it came out. Sorry I know your comment is 2 months old but I stumbled on it now hahahahahaha
Yoongi is a very special person. It is actually so, so inspiring that he chose to rap out about his depression, social anxiety and sui**al times, that is beyond shocking and remarkable. He gathered the courage to speak it out. That is what makes me respect him as himself and a true human. Suga once stated - 'if we hadn't went through all the struggles we have, the success wouldn't be as sweet as it is now'.
3:26 they weren’t always rich and famous. They were underdogs, they came from a small company and has to work hard to crack into the monopoly held by the big 3 korean music companies. And Suga has experienced poverty before, it’s part of the reason his parents were so against him pursuing music. It’s an unstable job. When he moved out at an early age he had to choose between using what little earnings he had for taking the bus home from his studio or buying dinner. One of my favorite quotes by him is from the song Move, where he says “I lived with my pride put into the down payment.” Add to that the fact that he had appendicitis and even crushed his shoulder in a delivery job and it becomes clear how dedicated to music this man is. He put everything on the line for his dream, and it’s finally paying off.
Suga has never been afraid to talk about the real issues, the ugly side of reality...and he has an amazing talent of expressing his true emotions with his voice He is a major producer and lyricist for BTS, and some of my all time favorite BTS songs are the ones he produced The incident in the bathroom is before a concert in Kobe Japan when he had an anxiety attack and didnt perform, and that really left him guilty and sad Also his real name is Min Yoongi, and the beeped out part is when the doctor asked him if he's ever considered suicide
That beep the doctor was asking him if he had ever thought about killing himself and he said yes he had been that way before. (Paused to answer your question)
YoonGi had a very hard time at first his parents didn’t support him as a rapper they do now I think it was more like they were worried because it isn’t easy to succeed. His mixtape is full of him & his struggles. It really takes us into the mind of the genius that is Min YoonGi. He has talked before about having to choose between using money to eat or for transportation and about selling songs he wrote while an underground rapper for like 10 - 20 cents. Also in Korea mental health issues and very taboo subject so the fact that he opened up this much is a big thing. The Kpop world is still mourning the loss of an idol who recently committed suicide (we know who not mentioning the name out of respect) I just hope Korea can wake up and take these issues seriously.
Dylan Alvarez Also I just found your channel and am trying to go back and see what you have reacted to before requesting anything and saw that you had just posted this video. Keep an eye out for HIXTAPE JHOPE can drop it at anytime and snatch us all Do react to more of Agust D & also RM’s mixtape Oh that concert I’m not completely sure but he has anxiety and it could refer to an episode he may have had before going on stage or after
Can you react to this? Suga first love from wings album. Its about his love toward music. And also suga so far away ft jin and jungkook. This song is really good! Sad that it just a song from mixtape and not been sold so alot of people dont know this good song except army.
First Love is one of my favorite songs from the album. I cried listening to and reading the lyrics. It's such a beautiful song, you can really feel and hear his passion.
The song is about him overcoming depression, and I'm assuming what he talks about actually happened because of how he put everything together and the emotion in his voice. "The doctor asked me [long beep] I unhesitatingly said that I'd been like that before" = the doctor asking him if he ever tried to harm or kill himself / "from that time when I tried to sleep on the floor of a bathroom" = tried to "put himself to sleep", which basically means to kill himself. / "The shoulder that was crushed because of an accident during my delivery job" = it happened he talks about it and how he almost gave up on music in his song in the WINGS album, First Love. You should listen to the whole track, it's pretty good. :D Anyways I don't know if everything I'm saying is accurate, but having gone through depression myself I started bawling my eyes out when he first mentioned the self hate part.
I Feel Dead Inside "The shoulder" to me he's trying to tell the time he got scattered his shoulder from his student part time job (often called "Alba"in Korea). Rappers from "show me the money" repeatedly mentioned BTS is Awful on rap also dissing and saying BTS don't know how to gain with pain that made me like puke cause BTS started with huge hassle and disturbance as they debut by other big entertainment companies ( I guess, I also meant their many singers and groups of idols: not to dis them but they been ignorant, you know when you feel that "funny air") . Back to the story Suga with scattered shoulder condition he didn't hesitate dancing.... (god that's gotta hurt soooooo bad😭 ) so telling suga don't know how to gain with pain, that's whole a lot of Bolognese. Cause anyone in Canada got that kind of accident over shoulder, doctors note will tag your life to take easy on your shoulder!! I couldn't stop dropping my tears..... throughout the video
Bayla Bear some people think lyrics just lyrics that created to be good with music. They dont know almost BTS lyrics come from their own experience. Once they know, they will feel connection with BTS itsself.
This is a long comment but I hope you'll read it ❤ Min Yoongi was born on March 9th, 1993 in Daegu, South Korea and is currently 24 years old. Yoongi started playing the piano at a very young age, and, according to the lyrics in his solo (First Love by Suga) the piano was the only thing that seemed to stay by his side throughout all of his hardships. Through these lyrics we can see how much of an impact music had on his life even at such a young age. As he grew older, Suga began to grow an interest in producing music. At the age of 13, he wrote songs, created original beats, and worked in a music studio. Eventually, Yoongi got the nerve to tell his parents about his desire to pursue his dream of becoming a musical artist. But, his parents were strongly opposed to the idea and discouraged him from anything that remotely related to music. Suga revealed that at one point his parents had thrown away all of his written songs, hoping that he would focus more on his studies than on his musical interests. In another interview, Suga had also revealed that his parents had taken abusive measures to keep him from becoming an artist. (*Although, before you jump to conclusions about his parents, please keep in mind that Yoongi has forgiven his parents and respects them now more than ever.*) *“As for me...[my parents] were very much against [me becoming a rapper] to make me reconsider [my choice], they hit [me] and fought, and things like this...so I made music [under those circumstances].” -SUGA* Even though his parents were strongly against his ambitions, Yoongi persevered. He never stopped or gave in to his parent’s wishes, only because he felt that strongly for his love of music. He left his hometown Daegu and went to Seoul. At the age of 16, Suga set out to make more music, this time without his parent’s permission. At the time, things for Yoongi had been quite rocky. He worked as a composer and a performer, but not many people would come to his shows or buy his CD’s. He was so financially unstable that every day he had to choose between starving himself or riding the bus home (and he always choose to starve 😭💔), because he was too poor to pay for both food and transportation. Even so, he helped produce mixtapes with other rappers in Daegu and continued to work in the music studio despite these unfortunate circumstances. He even produced songs for others but in the end it gets ripped off/he doesn't get paid. And as if all this weren’t enough, the atmosphere of the people around him, some of which were loved ones, became toxic. People told him that he would never make it as an artist, that he would make his family go bankrupt if he continued to do things like this. He later joined an underground crew called D-Town and produced many songs for other artists, such as Reflow. It has not been said what happened between D-Town and Suga, but it is known that this is when he was rumored to have started working for a man named Bang Shi Hyuk, also known as the main man behind BigHit Entertainment, the company of BTS. But of course, tragedy had to strike yet again. Yoongi started to look for a part-time job because he needs money to make music and to live so he worked as a part timer delivering meals to people with a motorcycle and then he suffered from a major accident leaving him with an injured shoulder. The exact details of Suga’s shoulder injury has not been addressed upfront, but it has been referenced to in his lyrics several times. (The Last by Agust D) His shoulder injury seemed to have been the last straw. He thought about giving up everything because of it-his dreams, his career, his future. After all, everything he did seemed to end in suffering. What was the point in continuing to do what he loved if it only caused him pain? Yoongi has been suffering from mental illnesses since his pre-debut days. As we all know, depression and anxiety aren’t just things that go away with time, which means that Yoongi has been battling these disorders even before BTS came about. He had been suffering for years on his own, with no one to help him. And yet, he still managed to pull through in the end. But, that’s when he realized something. Throughout all of this shit that he had gone through, he realized that the only thing that remained by his side was his piano, which from a greater perspective probably represents music as a whole. Even though his love for music came with a lot of suffering, it was also the one thing that had given him happiness and encouragement throughout all of his journey. So, with the help of his first love, he decided to keep fighting. Similarly to the atmosphere surrounding Suga during his music studio days, people made fun of BTS, saying that they would never make it as an idol group, that they were fools. That BTS was a joke, a group that would always remain in the shadows of major idol groups and would later fade into the background. Other artists dissed them and tried hard to drag down their name. But that didn’t stop Yoongi, nor any of the other members. The members of BTS fought their way to the top through hard work and dedication, proving everyone they knew wrong. They worked their asses off and slowly began to rise to fame. Suga’s parents did not support him for the first year since BTS’ debut. But as time went on, his parents slowly began to loosen up after seeing how much of an effect music had on him, and then eventually they became their son’s #1 supporters. Yoongi first acknowledged his parents at a concert, giving a speech about his experiences and then, overcome with emotions, began to cry as he bowed to his parents in the audience. Yoongi is known as the member who is the best at hiding his feelings resulting in him coming off as cold and isolated, which is definitely not the case-he’s anything but that. He’s hard-working, wise, and is often referred to as a genius lyricist. He truly cares for others, he’s just not very good at showing it. TRANSLATED BY: SUGAFULL27 Jan10, 2016 Suga confessed his feelings thro twt: "The saddest time is when I face myself realizing tht I cant treat all people equally when I deal with lots of people. I don't want to hurt anyone but theres time when you cant do that. I think i'm someone who still lacks a lot." "I liked standing on the stage and i still like it. When I was 17yo performing in front of 2 people I still proudly looked into their eyes and performed. However, after the debut i don't think i am confident in myself. Probably becoz i know i'm still lacking a lot." (Jan10, 2016 twt) "To me, it's very easy to bear my sorrow. However, when my beloved ppl who love me are in sorrow it's very hard to endure." "I really hate becoming dull. I dont want to think these days wch many ppl who love me consider as glorious days like typical normal days" "Thanks for making me to a blessing person. ARMY. I will appreciate every single day and live becoz i'm a human who lacks a lot." He never forgets to thank fans.
The song isn't exactly about what idol rappers go through, but more specifically what Yoongi went through himself. Also, the beep that you hear, that's the doctor asking him if he's ever thought of/attempted suicide (I'm not sure which of the two, still a tough question to ask and respond to). The part where he's talking about hiding in the bathroom, we don't know what happened. My guess is that he likely started having a panic attack (his social phobia) right before a concert and he went to the bathroom to hide and deal with it himself. Throughout his whole mixtape, AGUST D, he opens up a lot. He makes his feelings known, you should react to all of the tracks on his mixtape! Also, don't forget to react to Do You & Joke by RM (formally known as Rap Monster) & 1 Verse by J-Hope!
suga is pronounced like the word sugar just without the r, yoongi has a song called first love that is so good, you should check it out if you're interested (it doesn't have a music video btw)
I have to say that this is the best reaction to The Last of Suga that I've seen on TH-cam. He picked up on the depression, social phobia, self-hatred etc. He took the time to look up who Min Yoongi is to understand the whole story better. He understood that the beep stood for the question about self-harm/suicide. Dylan didn't make a crazy huge deal about Suga saying the words "fxck" and "shxt" since he was trying to understand the lyrics and follow Yoongi's way of telling us about his life. Dylan picked up about the concert that Yoongi mentioned. I WATCHED SO MANY REACTION VIDEOS AND SO LITTLE PEOPLE PICKED UP ON THAT. Dylan respects Suga for daring to open up about a subject that not many people want to open up about. And halfway through the song Suga raps about how he's feeling better now and Dylan smiled when he read that. He went along with the difference that Suga has made in his life. Just everything put together: he genuinely read the lyrics, tried to understand everything. He was trying so hard to understand that he sometimes couldn't even finish his sentences. This has made me more interested in Dylan's channel. I'm for sure going to binge watch his videos now. Edit: When he said "You're a real man and I respect you." I got goosebumps.
tbh I cant listen to this song without tearing up at least a little. These boys have been through hell. the members are very open about things like this and i think its amazing because mental health just isn't something talked about in South Korea it's very taboo. I'm so proud to stan these boys.
Your hair looks good don't worry. Also please react to RM and J-Hope's solo tracks: RM - Do You MV & Joke MV J-Hope - 1 Verse lyric video (there's no MV for this song)
Since people don't really talk about mental health in Korea this has an even stronger message, because he talks openly about it and mentions psychiatrists wich is rare (that's one of the reasons why korea has the highest suicide rate in the world) He makes a contribution to helping their generation deal with the pressure and competitive society of korea
idk if someone already commented this i just wanted to say that if you didn't know, Show Me the Money is a Korean show that rappers do to prove their talent. Suga was invited onto the show several times but he never did it because he felt like he didn't have anything to prove, we all know his rap is top-notch
I always cry or start to tear up when I think about some of the things that the members of BTS have gone through.. Suga was depressed when he was younger because he was appearently 'to fat' even though he has litteraly the PERFECT body.. And Jimin went through self-hatred and extreme dieting in 2013 to about 2017... (I think Jimin's okay now.. Idk but I really hope so). Also, being a K-Pop idol is REALLy hard.. One time, Jungkook even passed out during their tour because they were being over worked. There was also that time when J-Hope threw up off the side of the stage during a performance... Those poor guys. Seriously, they are way to harsh on them. They had to go through years of training for their careers. TO MANY FEELS MAN >.
I'm going through the exact same thing, I'm depressed, I have self-hatred, I have anxiety, I have social issues, I have all these things, I know how he's feeling, that's why Suga is my idol, because he's so much like me, and I truly understand how he's feeling...
Honestly.... this is my favorite reaction of this video. As someone who struggles with problems as well, and someone who has Suga as their bias, these kinds of “deep” reactions for this deep song is so appreciated. You’re not one who just watches it and nods with it and just agree with it. But you’re curious about the meanings, the metaphors, the concert incident. And generally your reactions are amazing. You’re questioning what you don’t get and ask for answers, and I love that. I love that you want to understand and are so true with your reactions! Continue like that! DYLAN! FIGHTING!! ((Sorry if my English is a little off. I’m just a 13year old Norwegian))
All of bts members are very open about their feelings ,their struggles in their past and their insecurities of today. They are very honest about their mistakes and what they think ,when they want to express it through a song their company allows them to do so . Rm and Suga are one of the most opened individuals of the group although all of them share quiet a lot .I think you will find a lot of their feelings and expressions not only through music but videos as well where they express and talk about their fears and past .
This was years ago but I'd like to say that I was so down before I knew BTS. I listened to this and fell in love with Suga, the person, the musician. I had gone through his social and mental demons. I faced them with Suga's music. He's my bias. Proud Noona here.💜
Thank you for being so genuine in your response to this. Seriously I think Suga (Agust D) is one of the most talented artists out right now. He deserves so much love, respect, and support for what he's created and his honesty.
Yeah, Min Yoongi is his real name. I love this song, it's my favourite of his. It's so deeply personal and it really gives us an insight to him. I'm so glad you liked it, man. And you understood the song pretty well. As for the bit where he spoke about the doctor asking something, then the beep. To my understanding, yes. The doctor asked him is he'd had thoughts of committing suicide and he'd thought about. I don't know that he tried. But I think he thought about it. Another great song of his to check out is Give It To Me. For more just BTS stuff that's a little more hip hop and rap based. No More Dream and We Are Bulletproof Pt. 2 are awesome songs 👌👌
Awwww Suga 😭😢 you should always know that the army that you and BTS built and created is always here for you. And Suga you should always know that no matter what your army that you make cry, laugh, smile, and help get through a rough day will always be here for you. Aww dang it Suga , you made me cry too much. My heart and thoughts will always be with you , even on the cloudy days.
This is the album/song that really solidified Yoongi as my bias. I had followed BTS since their debut but didn't really become a fan until Only One Day(? I can't remember the English title, only the Korean lol) and even then was only sort of a casual fan. Then I stopped listening to K-Pop for a bit, so I missed when Agust D was actually released. But when I finally heard it, and then heard this song, I was absolutely blown away (and that doesn't even begin to cover it). I just couldn't believe that this K-Pop idol was being so brutally honest about his emotions and struggles. It's pretty standard for K-Pop idols to just pretend they're happy all the time, although more recently it's becoming a bit more common for idols to be a little more open about their mental health struggles. But this just filled me up with emotions I can't even describe, it hit so close to home. And just the absolute raw emotions that come out in his voice... ugh, don't even get me started lmao. Long story short, Yoongi is my bias because man he is just so incredible (and Namjoon is a close second).
This is the best reaction to this song that I’ve seen, thank you for being interested in Yoongi and understanding what he went through, he really is an amazing person. New subscriber here!
This is why my bias is Yoongi. He's letting it all out for us to hear about his weaknesses, his deepest secrets. He made me respect what i have and love myself. The guy is true inspiration.
In the second part that repeats the translation "is not that I couldn't do Show Me The Money", the real translation is "pain created me, look at me closely".
I relate alot to this song, and whenever I listen to it, it basically speaks to me(I know that's weird but it's true), and I am super happy that you understand what he's talking about and that you even take sympathy to his feelings. I have seen a few of your BTS reaction videos so far, and I love your content. I hope you continue to make more😊
Idk why I’ve never heard this song before, but it just makes me love suga even more. I’m dealing with similar issues atm and it’s just so relieving to know that someone else knows how it feels. I have total respect for suga and for BTS. I’m honestly so happy that I discovered them.
I admire Suga releasing "The Last" It is such a raw, honest, uncensored story and you can feel every single bit of frustration, anger, sadness, and relief that he feels as he raps. I'm amazed at how Yoongi is a very emotional composer. While I love the entire rap line's styles and how they are fundamentally different from each other. Yoongi has a very raw, philosophical style and the words are sometimes so simple yet the music and the delivery offers you so much more that you can feel his emotions. Dead Leaves is another fave song of mine produced by Suga and So Far Away ft Suran is also brilliant Yoongi knows exactly how to tap into emotions.
This song of Suga Min yoongi is very deep. He talks about how in the past he had depression, social anxiety and almost attempted suicide. I respect him for opening up to the public like that. It's really hard especially if you are an idol. Even if you aren't an ARMY you can relate to these lyrics. It shows that idols are humans too and we shouldn't forget that they also feel the same as normal people so we should think first before we give/post criticism or bad comments to them.
Everytime I listen to this, I can't help but feel so proud of Yoongi. As you said, it takes a lot of courage to pour out your emotions and struggles to others, nevermind the whole world. He's just awesome. :)
You should listen to his whole Agust D mix tape and the songs he's produced and wrote for BTS. He's really talented and has even won an award for producing. You should also watch an introduction video to each of the BTS members to get a better understanding of them if you've decided to jump into this black hole (: Also you pronounce Suga as if you were saying sugar without the r. Thanks for your reactions to the boys and my baby!
“Show me the money” is like... how do I describe it? hmmm a competition between rappers? but... mostly its only about dissing and stuff 😐 but ngl, some of them are really good
I subscribed because of your reactions to horror scenes in Anime. That was before I even got into BTS. Now to see you reacting to BTS after I've gotten into them a lot, is just awesome. Keep it up!
Everytime I listen to that song, I get so emotional that my heartbeat actually speeds up. And I feel so proud because of what you mentioned, that he met his demons head on and won. That he is now proud of who he is and where he is at right now.
I've been an ARMY from a little after there debut. My cousin was living in Korea and was sending multiple things about kpop... Long story short i enjoyed BTS enough to stick around. As time went on the more I realized out of all the members Yoongi spoke to me the most... I could relate on a level I never thought was possible. And after reading the lyrics and hearing Yoongi sing this I cried... Because I understood.
The Last is my favourite song of his mixtape because I relate. I've been battling depression for many, many years, I suffered from terrible anxiety, and I am better now, but Yoongi has helped me a lot. BTS has in general helped me, but Yoongi, Namjoon, and Jimin really have pulled me through, Yoongi specially, I love The Last because his honesty saved me. Thank you for reacting to it.
They have a lot of songs in which they reveal their deeper feelings, just like Born Singer or Jungkooks Solo song "begin". Im glad how you really seemed to be interested and not only be like one of those many who just use BTS to gain more views or whatever. Thanks for that :)
Min Yoongi (Suga) is one of my favorite rappers/people ever. I'd love to just hang out with him and have a conversation... We've been through similar things mentally, but he's gone so much further than me. I see him as a role model. I have so much respect for him.
Seventh Binge: First I will definitely follow you on other social medias except I can't stop binge watching, I'm watching this on my laptop, and my phone is too far---that's a lie. Also I am so glad you're reading the lyrics and taking time to understand him. You're words and saying he's not alone, I felt that. Glad I decided to binge watch at 1am and subscribe.
With this song the special part is that you can tell apart people who undarstand the lyrics rationally and the people who understand emotionally. I think you are probably the first reactor with who I felt that he understands the song emotionally. You filled in a lot of meanings w/o having to search for information. What the song as a whole represents is very individual tho - for me it is - pride of overcoming so much shit that life throws at you. Of winning when the odds are against you.
hahaha Clannad! i love that show, there's a new mamamoo song called paint me and it brings back so much Clannad memories that was one of my favorite anime's :) BTW love the reaction!
Hey Dylan we ARMY'S know that you're into fast rapping and have been reacting to Suga's ridiculous fast rap but i just self declared expert SUGA trash wants to say that Suga's rapping and flow is insane when it comes to slow songs. He raps best when in slow songs.I myself cried so bad listening to 'First love' its just so heartaching and i just can't even. Please react to SUGA 'First Love' 💙💜💜
First Love makes me bawl everytime I listen to it.. Honestly almost all the frickin solo songs from Wings make me cry.. Thank god for Hope's Mama being there to cheer me up. Yoongi is a gift and I love listening to him rap..
My boy! Suga! Please react to his solo song "first love"....It's about his love for music and how it was the light in those dark days...the emotions in his voice are just 💕
He still experience nervousness like what happened in AMA. But he managed to deal with it and perform well on stage. Of course with the help of his other members. He is a true pro.
It’s one of the reasons I really love BTS and Agust D (Suga/Min Yoongi) he talks about very relatable things. For example, I thought I was alone going through these things, by that I mean Social phobia, Anxiety and Depression. Since I have been a BTS ARMY since their debut in 2013, I heard about Suga coming out with a mixtape and when it came out, I listened to it and realized, “Wow Suga understands the struggles and probably the other members too” it really shows you that famous people can go through this too. It really shows that you’re not alone in anything, which is Exactly was BTS or Agust D tells us, BTS’s Album: You Never Wall Alone, and Agust D’s mixtape
when I watched someone like brisxlife react to this, the title said he was focusing on lyrics yet didn’t catch on with anything that was said like the lyrics meant nothing to him but I love how you did say u liked the beat but constantly tried to understand the lyrics, and it’s nice since the lyrics are really important
OkAY, first of all i really like your reactions, you seem like a pretty honest and open minded, and I really like how you say your opinions?? it doesnt feel like you are forcing anything and you are pretty nice and chill, so yeah, i really im becoming a dylan squad while becoming an army apparently? i just discovered bts and im getting pretty hyped up over them and I have been researching about them and their hardwork really makes me admire them, i know very littlee about them yet tho, after i discovered Suga's mixtape -august d- I was really blown away, this song really strongly resonates with me because well, i am a 17 yrs old currently suffering with social anxiety and i dont really know how to handle it well, hearing this song makes me feel less alone and that things are gonna be okay, u know? about the references what ive read from ARMYs is that the concert thing really happened in 2016 i think? im not sure, for what i read the other six members went on stage and just said that suga wasnt feeling well or smtg, the beep sound means that the doctor asked him if he had thought about suicide and the "sleeping on the bathroom floor" is kind of an euphemism in korea referring to suicide; he also refers that it took them -- rm and him- a long time to debut bc members kept leaving the group at the beginning --2 years--, and that made them felt pretty hopeless, like they would never do it, they only wanted their music to be heard and now that they made it it's so impressing and wow anyways sorry 4 the long texts, i really liked your reaction xdd
I also saw another person say to react to Born Singer. And I back that 2000% But make sure, if you do, you react to the live version! It's such a great song.
that concert refers To one supposed to be in Japan around late 2015. Iirc the first day went well. But they suddenly cancelled the 2nd day due to 2 members (v and suga) feeling nausea and had to be hurried off to hospital. At that time, armys was already inside the concert venue and wondering why it had not yet starting. Then, only 5 members came out and they looked really sad/hollow, it was obvious that smth was wrong. After that, they announced the sudden cancellation and apologized to army they can only perform last song. All tickets were refunded.
i love bts so much, they are some nice young men. and suga is a pieces march 9, 1993 who is a very sensitive person. he is empath and he takes on other peoples feelings/emotions and Suga takes them inwardly-literally. in the song lying on the bathroom floor to get away from people. the meaning is he is getting away from being judged so he want have to deal with others bull chit feeling. he was in a family of some bad issues. i know some but not much on that issue. being in korea k-pop a controlling situation all the way around. suga needs to take up meditation to find some self control over whom he lost. fans should be glad he is righting gut wrenching rap songs like this, because this is an escape for him on venting out. Peace Suga, love you.
Suga went through so much and I hope he's okay now like his song suggest bc I know how hard it is to get out of depression and having suicidal thoughts and tendencies. Seeing him like this kills me I hope he's okay. And please react to Suga - first love
Suga is a fighter. BTS members said that Suga is the most strongest of them. Because of this. Everything he has to go through. And i´m just glad that you could ,,hear" it in his voice, his pain, his anger and his fear. He is better now but he was at the bottom. He even have to choose between food and taking a bus so he starved a lot. Thats why his song and lyrics are so strong because he suffer a lot. I would like to recommend you BTS - Tomorrow. Its a song written and produced by Suga. Its one of the ,,old song" of BTS but it was the first time you could tell that something is off. That there is something too real about it. (Dont get me wrong, every song has meaning, No more dream is song they debut with. it was written by Namjoon - Rap monster about himself when he dont know what to do/ what he want. Its like messege for his ,,past himself") But tomorrow is kind of ,,dark" song about how they feel. That every day its the same, its about a feeling when they share just one small room to sleep in. When they dont have enough of..well everything. They even joke about that they cant lose money because they dont have any. Thats the reality of BTS. They wasnt famous from start. They have to fight for it, they have to suffer for it and thats why they are such successful international group now. Beause they know what it's feel like to be on the rock bottom and suffer.
This song together with "First love" and "So far away" are definitely my favs of him! but the first time I heard this it made me cry because of the passion in his voice. You should really listen to the full mixtape Agust D because its beautiful and its make you respect him a lot after all the lyrics on the songs. However all the depressed stuff on his mixtape is about his years before bts so don't worry about him now hahah 💜💜
BTS is not an instant rich/famous idols, they we're actually from a small company that is struggling with debt before. BTS work hard during their trainee days because that's their only key for Big hit to debut them. The seven of them were sharing one small room in their small apartment before, from their trainee days till their debut/ rookie idol years. All members have fair share of stories and hardships of their own before they debut as BTS that is very inspiring.( That is why ARMYs love and protect them so much until now) Suga left home to follow his desire to be a producer. His parents didn't support his dream without anything but himself and his talent and love for music. He once an underground rapper. He was performing in front of max of 10 people ( if I remember it right) during his underground rapper days and used to sell his songs that he produced for only $2( again if I remember it correctly) and were sometimes ripped off by people(being cheated on/robbed off) if he would get some money from his song, that would make him choose between eating a meal but walk his way home or ride a bus but starve himself. Until he auditioned under Bighit ent, He doesn't originally dreamt to be a K-pop idol or to be a such, he admitted it too that he once find it cringey, but he would rather choose that way than to starve himselfand because he wanted his voice to be heard by many thru his songs, after he joined BTS and debuted as an idol group, he, together with RM, were criticize by some Korean rappers for joining an idol group, for them wearing make up and such. He explained that they were not originally hip hop idol group but a hip-hop group, but due to hardship he has gone thru he would endure wearing make up and such even tho he is not comfortable just for his songs to be heard and to earn reasonable price. But a Korean rapper Bfree( fuck you I still hate you asshole) Together with other underground rappers whom they used to work with, they kept them under fire. He have gone thru a lot that is why many ARMYs are very supportive of BTS because they have stories that almost all of us could relate to, . So what ever fortune and Fame and money they have now, they deserve it, and ARMYs are willing to buy all of their albums, ARMYs are doing everything to chart BTS songs, because they deserve it, their stories deserve to be heard in the world
I recommend listening to / watching the lyric video for "치리사일사팔 724148" by Agust D too! It's another amazing song from this mixtape and he talks more about his struggles (less mental health, more about pursuing his dreams).
References:
During one of his "vacations" he went back to it to sort out the guilt he had for not performing
4."Those days when I tried to sleep on the toilet floor" - a lot of people have suggested that it's his more poetic way of referring to when he tried to kill himself (sleep; see [1] as to why he wouldn't say this outright)
Im crying., THANK YOU SO MUCH
Allison Ottavo That sad 😭
PREACH.
we should praise bighit as an entertainment company A LOT because they were brave enough to let Suga vent his feelings out, they were brave enough to let all members speak about social issues and they were brave enough to accept and love members with all their insecurities.
Y. K 윤키 jungkook cried?? Did he mention it somewhere in a video?? Cuz I wanna see it
Exactly what I always awe at. Kudos to big hit and yoongi.
VMIN IS LIFEU :] I think jungkook said it in a v live if I remeber correctly. They were promoting his mixtape af when it came out. Sorry I know your comment is 2 months old but I stumbled on it now hahahahahaha
Federica thanks😊
VMIN IS LIFEU :] no problem :D
Yoongi is a very special person. It is actually so, so inspiring that he chose to rap out about his depression, social anxiety and sui**al times, that is beyond shocking and remarkable. He gathered the courage to speak it out. That is what makes me respect him as himself and a true human.
Suga once stated - 'if we hadn't went through all the struggles we have, the success wouldn't be as sweet as it is now'.
I agree
Appendicitis? When? Whta happened?
@@ruthbautista9528 In 2014 during their Japan tour, he had to go on a plane back to Korea for immediate surgery ):
Suga has never been afraid to talk about the real issues, the ugly side of reality...and he has an amazing talent of expressing his true emotions with his voice
He is a major producer and lyricist for BTS, and some of my all time favorite BTS songs are the ones he produced
The incident in the bathroom is before a concert in Kobe Japan when he had an anxiety attack and didnt perform, and that really left him guilty and sad
Also his real name is Min Yoongi, and the beeped out part is when the doctor asked him if he's ever considered suicide
That beep the doctor was asking him if he had ever thought about killing himself and he said yes he had been that way before. (Paused to answer your question)
Amanacer 😟

Also I just found your channel and am trying to go back and see what you have reacted to before requesting anything and saw that you had just posted this video.
Keep an eye out for HIXTAPE JHOPE can drop it at anytime and snatch us all
Do react to more of Agust D & also RM’s mixtape
Oh that concert I’m not completely sure but he has anxiety and it could refer to an episode he may have had before going on stage or after
I appreciate you're reaction so much, you're one of the few reactors that can actually keep up with the lyrics 😂
Min Yoongi is his real name. Suga is his stage name in BTS. And Agust D is his stage name as a solo artist.
It's such a beautiful song, you can really feel and hear his passion.
s92
I love this song so much
Yessss he should react to some of the short stories.
Omg yes yes plssss
s92 yesssss
You paid a lot of interest in the video and I’m glad you focused on the lyrics and story unlike many other reactors. New sub!
Bayla Bear some people think lyrics just lyrics that created to be good with music. They dont know almost BTS lyrics come from their own experience. Once they know, they will feel connection with BTS itsself.
Jimin Laundry I agree, the lyrics create an entirely new experience for the listener 💗
React to BTS from nobody’s to legends
yes plzzzzz
YES! This! pliss
yes plzzzzzzzzz❤❤🙏🙏
Yaaaaas
Yoongi Min I will gladly cry again.
This is a long comment but I hope you'll read it ❤
Min Yoongi was born on March 9th, 1993 in Daegu, South Korea and is currently 24 years old. (*Although, before you jump to conclusions about his parents, please keep in mind that Yoongi has forgiven his parents and respects them now more than ever.*)
*“As for me...[my parents] were very much against [me becoming a rapper] to make me reconsider [my choice], they hit [me] and fought, and things like this...so I made music [under those circumstances].” -SUGA*
Even though his parents were strongly against his ambitions, Yoongi persevered.
(The Last by Agust D)
His shoulder injury seemed to have been the last straw.

Jan10, 2016 Suga confessed his feelings thro twt:
"The saddest time is when I face myself realizing tht I cant treat all people equally when I deal with lots of people. I don't want to hurt anyone but theres time when you cant do that. I think i'm someone who still lacks a lot."
"I liked standing on the stage and i still like it. When I was 17yo performing in front of 2 people I still proudly looked into their eyes and performed. However, after the debut i don't think i am confident in myself. Probably becoz i know i'm still lacking a lot."
(Jan10, 2016 twt) "To me, it's very easy to bear my sorrow. However, when my beloved ppl who love me are in sorrow it's very hard to endure." "I really hate becoming dull. I dont want to think these days wch many ppl who love me consider as glorious days like typical normal days"
"Thanks for making me to a blessing person. ARMY. I will appreciate every single day and live becoz i'm a human who lacks a lot." He never forgets to thank fans.
Thanks a lot
진짜...저희 아미들이 말하고자 하는 바를 잘 전달해주셔서 감사합니다♡ 이렇게 깊고 풍부한 리액션은 처음인것같아요 thank you!!
BTS’s songs with insightful lyrics-“tomorrow”, “born singer”, “Sea”...
RM “Reflection”, “do you”,
SUGA “First Love”, “so far away”ft. Jungkook and Jin
Suga is Sugar without the "r". Every time i hear you say it ssssssuga I'm like 😂😂😂😂
Laila Torres lolololol my bad😭😂
Dylan Alvarez I've literally laughed every time i watch your reactions to BTS. I hoped someone would point it out, but I guess I had to be the barer.
Suga is actually pronounced as "Shuga" and his other rapper name is pronounced as "August D"
tbh I cant listen to this song without tearing up at least a little. These boys have been through hell. the members are very open about things like this and i think its amazing because mental health just isn't something talked about in South Korea it's very taboo. I'm so proud to stan these boys.
Your hair looks good don't worry.
Also please react to RM and J-Hope's solo tracks:
RM - Do You MV & Joke MV
J-Hope - 1 Verse lyric video (there's no MV for this song)
Jimin Infires My Bias List imma do all of them👀😎
And Jhope Boy Meets Evil!
Since people don't really talk about mental health in Korea this has an even stronger message, because he talks openly about it and mentions psychiatrists wich is rare (that's one of the reasons why korea has the highest suicide rate in the world)
He makes a contribution to helping their generation deal with the pressure and competitive society of korea
idk if someone already commented this i just wanted to say that if you didn't know, Show Me the Money is a Korean show that rappers do to prove their talent. Suga was invited onto the show several times but he never did it because he felt like he didn't have anything to prove, we all know his rap is top-notch
I was crying and screaming while listening to Yoongi's painfu voice.I just can't bear the pain. This is why he's savage Yoongi
This song gives me the chills.. by far one of the most amazing songs I've ever listened to
All of bts members are very open about their feelings ,their struggles in their past and their insecurities of today.
Proud Noona here.💜
Please react to BTS-born singer !!
Yumi Onoue Yeeeesss!!!! I cry every time
yes!!!
it never fail to make me cry
Pls do
Thank you for being so genuine in your response to this.
The guy is true inspiration.
first video i watch from you, subscribed. you get it, you understand how real the struggle that dealing with mental issues is
In the second part that repeats the translation "is not that I couldn't do Show Me The Money", the real translation is "pain created me, look at me closely".
I bursted out in tears when you said "Just know you're not alone". I really needed that.
I relate alot to this song, and whenever I listen to it, it basically speaks to me(I know that's weird but it's true), and I am super happy that you understand what he's talking about and that you even take sympathy to his feelings. I have seen a few of your BTS reaction videos so far, and I love your content. I hope you continue to make more😊
Thanks for your sincere reaction...Really appreciate that!
Idk why I’ve never heard this song before, but it just makes me love suga even more. I’m dealing with similar issues atm and it’s just so relieving to know that someone else knows how it feels. I have total respect for suga and for BTS. I’m honestly so happy that I discovered them.
이 동영상을 알게 된 건 오늘이지만 BTS의 SUGA,Agust D의 대해서 동영상을 찍어주셔서 정말 감사합니다! 동영상을 보고 울었습니다..정말 감사합니다!!!
I admire Suga releasing "The Last"
It is such a raw, honest, uncensored story and you can feel every single bit of frustration, anger, sadness, and relief that he feels as he raps.
Dead Leaves is another fave song of mine produced by Suga and So Far Away ft Suran is also brilliant
Yoongi knows exactly how to tap into emotions.
“Show me the money” is like... how do I describe it? hmmm a competition between rappers? but... mostly its only about dissing and stuff 😐 but ngl, some of them are really good
Jmail M yeah right, that show doesn’t define someone’s ability to rap or the real definition of being a real rapper.
This song is absolutely amazing.... we love him so much and thank you for reacting
Thank you for reacting to this. I really love on how you try to understand the lyrics.
I recommend to react to BTS Perfect Man performance. It's a cover song. One of the most legendary stage from BTS
I just watched your rection. and you just gained a new subscriber. thank you for actually reading and understanding the lyrics of Suga.
i really like your intro song.. just wanna say that.
your reaction is literally me when i first heard that song, yoongi worked so hard, glad you understand the meaning of his song.
Omg I'm so early... Btw I'm so glad you reacted to the last from suga! Can you react to RM Joke? Or BTS From 2013 to 2017 or something like that
Liney Thao it's up next!
I just had to subscribe, thank you for sharing your thoughts on this, Suga is an amazing person:) Hope you keep reacting to BTS in the future!
Min Yoongi deserves all the love in the world. His mixtape is such a wonderful blessing.
Tsuki miya
i still cry when i hear "first love", its not only about the flow, he really can convey his feelings through his voice
First Love makes me bawl everytime I listen to it.. Honestly almost all the frickin solo songs from Wings make me cry.. Thank god for Hope's Mama being there to cheer me up.
Yoongi is a gift and I love listening to him rap..
My boy! Suga! Please react to his solo song "first love"....It's about his love for music and how it was the light in those dark days...the emotions in his voice are just 💕
I'm only like 20 secs into the Suga and like i'm already crying....he didn'T deserve to live like that...❤️😭
He still experience nervousness like what happened in AMA. But he managed to deal with it and perform well on stage. Of course with the help of his other members. He is a true pro.
Subcribed! Your reactions are great! You cares and try to understands about Yoongi, thank you so much!!😭💜
It’s one of the reasons I really love BTS and Agust D (Suga/Min Yoongi) he talks about very relatable things.
Your reaction is so awesome. 👍 thank you.
I think this reaction is the kind of platform everyone wants.
It's his way of telling us we are not alone with our battles.. he have been through it. He survived. You got the context right.
He is truly a really inspiring guy. I always cry tbh
when I watched someone like brisxlife react to this, the title said he was focusing on lyrics yet didn’t catch on with anything that was said like the lyrics meant nothing to him but I love how you did say u liked the beat but constantly tried to understand the lyrics, and it’s nice since the lyrics are really important
I wish Suga all the happiness and love from the world
i think this is my fav reaction of the last so far. idk why but i watched and rewatched it plenty of times. (sorry my english sucks ㅋㅋㅋㅋ)
Every time I listen to this I still get chills till this very day!
I also saw another person say to react to Born Singer. And I back that 2000% But make sure, if you do, you react to the live version! It's such a great song.
Oh gosh give me a couple of days before we get into Born Singer. That, and this one The Last both send me into a sobbing mess.
I know Suga feeling when depress....when you in depression is so hard. I now also try to get through... Love BTS Love Suga
that concert refers To one supposed to be in Japan around late 2015.
THIS MADE ME CRY SO BAD
Suga is the best and the fastest rapper in the world 💜💜💜🔥
My favorite rapper Always , he's a king but this song Always make me cry
I appreciate your reaction, thank you
i really love ur reaction! ♡♡
I'm been there and still am for the last few years ..
Please keep reacting to bts i love you're reactions and im subscribing to ur channel right now
One of my fav songs, i love ma boi Yoongi so much 😍
This song together with "First love" and "So far away" are definitely my favs of him! but the first time I heard this it made me cry because of the passion in his voice. You should really listen to the full mixtape Agust D because its beautiful and its make you respect him a lot after all the lyrics on the songs. However all the depressed stuff on his mixtape is about his years before bts so don't worry about him now hahah 💜💜
Yes yoongi is amazing this song is amazing and I'm crying
SUGA is just so real like your reaction
