One tiny badass woman doing the job of two full grown men on guitar!
This was a private performance for their supporters that has become legendary. For one thing, you can readily see how exhausted Ale was at the end of a 2 hour set. They were all tired. I've heard they collapsed back stage afterward. But I have also heard from one of the folks that was in the crowd that TW went out afterward for some food and several of the people from the crowd were also there. Ale apparently fell asleep at their table. I suppose both could be true or it could be an urban legend among the army. BTW, TW had been appearing at The Whiskey every January for a while. This performance was on January 24, 2019. They also performed two sold-out shows at The Whiskey in 2020, before the Pandemic. They have an open invitation to perform at The Whiskey anytime they want.
TW warning played Whisky Go Go first time in January 2018 for a short 5-6 set. Then this concert was arranged as part of KickStarter for their album Queen Of The Murder Scene. Around 100-120 persons attended this private show. This song came at the end of the show as song No 22 and was a nod to the organizer of the show. People flew in from all over US and Europe to the show. Ale had the habit of doing knee bends and knee lifts in the shows. She did around 40 bends and 30 knee lifts here...... and was totally exhausted afterwards. I have the entire song on my phone camera as I was there.
Dany likes to call her style "Lythm". Part lead, part rhythm, all badass.
Lythmadass? 😁
Dany can shred, but I don't think that it's in her nature to be a showoff. She gives the song what it needs and doesn't try to outshine her sisters. Maybe some day we will see a 2-1/2 minute guitar solo from her, but I'm not going to bet on that. 🙂
A 2-1/2 minute guitar solo isn't needed in their songs. Dany rarely shreds, or finger taps. Sometimes less is better and more can be to much. But when she does, it is because it fits the song. No egos in this band.
🔥⚡🤘Her shorts soli are always tastefull and it's all that we want (instead of long boring shredding things).
Their interpretation of Atlas Rise is better than the original (because of Pau singing the chorus 😍).🤘⚡🔥
She's highly skilled at what she does. It is impressive what intricate rhythms and lines she can play whilst singing. Better to have Dani than a Shredder. I can see being a virtuoso is not 'in the hands' so to speak. Here vibe/pocket is exemplary in 21st Century Blood. More like a David Gilmore style. So yes, she can bring emotion and stay within what the song asks for. A true talent and professional.
@@ottokirk2325 I think that everyone got my meaning wrong. What I intended was to state that if Dany wants to do a solo for a bit, she can. Who knows? I'm not saying that Dany should change anything for anyone, but, rather, that she can hang with the best of them and that if she wants to do a shred session, who are we to stop her? You never know - there are always needs for bonus tracks and social media content that could be filled by an instrumental piece, if that's what she wants to do. She sure appears to have fun in her solos. Another thing they could do is to continue the split intermission strategy, where Pau and Ale take a short break, while Dany plays the crowd a little something. then Dany could take her break, while Pau and/or Ale play something. That way they all get a short break, but there's no down time in the show.
The Warning has a Superhero, her name is ALE. I'm so impressed with all 3 but Ale is on time perfection..🤟🎶☮️
This was January of 2019. It was their second time playing The Whisky.
Such a great performance! Yeah, you need to see them live. I saw them at a 600 capacity club here in August & they were incredible! Even though Dany was so ill that Ale had to sing lead on two songs to give her a break. These ladies are so dedicated & talented.
The toronto show? I rode a bike from new brunswick for that show. Ale sang 2 songs. Was awesome!
*Whiskey A Go-Go Fun Facts:*
Somehow (don't know the backstory) The Warning ended up playing at The Whiskey in 2018. Heard the management said let them play. They played a 30 minute set. Afterwards, Whiskey's management told The Warning is welcome back at anytime.
They returned in 2019 for two shows. One opened for the public. One was this private show. Which was a reward for a donor from their *Kickstarter Campaign* for funding studio time to record *QotMS* album.
In 2020. They returned to The Whiskey for another two shows. Both opened to the public.
After COVID. Plus The Warning has signed with a lable. They played at *The Troubadour* instead of *The Whiskey* for a two shows.
The video of *Atlas Rise* the girls done at *The Cave* was their swan song to their covers era as a band. They have released Tik Tok (shorts) of them playing covers at The Cave during rehearsals. But live on stage. Only *Enter Sandman with Alessia Cara* they played. Since this band has written nearly 50 original songs. No need to fill a setlist with covers.
I got back into music because of The Warning. Now I’m an addict of their music. Thanks for your reaction. ♥️✌🏻😎
I have a request. 10 Year Old Girl Drummer- Paulina From Mexico - My Life Would Suck-Cobus Version ...Played by Pau before they were a Band. It shows you why she is one of the best Drummers. Please.
Great reaction!
These sisters are overwhelmingly talented!!
They did this awesome cover after 2 hours original set so you can see a young Ale exhausted.
They did a superb job!
Dany's guitar solo was amazing!
Viva The Warning!! ⚡⚡⚡
This was January of 2019. Ale just turned 14 the month before. Dany was 18 and Pau 16. I believe this was a private concert to thank people who had contributed to their recording of Queen of the Murder Scene. EVERYONE has played The Whisky. The Doors used to be the house band there.
The ladies did the whisky 3 years straight and killed it.. sold out all the gigs I believe.. they first covered this back in 2017 in the Warning Cave but in this gig (2019) I think the owner wanted them to play it after a long show for his birthday
I could be wrong but it was a surprise for him because it's his favorite Metallica song, and he didn't know they were gonna play it. At least that what I gathered about it.
@@LostHate hey man you could be right 😂 it was like 4 years ago when they played that show
It's hard to imagine Ale was only 13 or 14 when they did this.
it’s so crazy
this was in Jan 24, 2019...
Ale had just turned 14 6 weeks (42 days) before...
Dany was 18 (6 more days till her 19th birthday)...
Pau was 16 (12 more days till her 17th birthday)...
What a night this was! I enjoy this rendition over Metallica’s.
Atlas Rise!! .⚡Woo! Hells yeah!! Banger Banger, your in Danger.............. ? Screw it, yeah!! 🤘
I was hoping that this would be the performance that you were reacting to, it is crazy good. This was at the end of a 2 hr concert, what a way to say goodnight. Thx.
Yeah I agree with you. I need to see them live. Next time they are anywhere in the southwest, I'm there. Such amazing, talent, energy, emotion, etc....
I can't think of any original The Warning songs where Dany just shreds but there are a few videos floating around where she was just playing around with her guitar that she did. None of them I have seen were really full songs but it was pretty obvious that she is fully capable of shredding if she wants to. Maybe someone could put a bug in Pau's ear to write a song with some shredding in it. I would also like to see Ale just rip a couple of bass solos like Brenda Martin of Eruca Sativa. Maybe another tour together would be a good thing. I know Ale picked up a lot from being with Brenda when the two bands toured together back in 2019.
They write the songs as a team. Paulina is not writing all of the guitar parts.
I saw them last year opening up for Halestorm and they just brought it from the opening note to the last note you definitely need to see them live
Dany playing rhythm and lead
Pau's drumming and singing 🔥Ale's bass 🔥and Dany just a beast playing Lythum guitar was awesome. 🔥That energy at the end of a 2hr show is insane. Thanks Tim I liked the overhead of Pau too.🤘 ⚡🤘⚡🤘⚡
❤❤❤❤❤
If I had to guess, I'd say Ale went through a Tomboy phase where she was more animated; now she is an elegant and sophisticated young Lady, who just happens to be the Goddess of Thunder in the most awesome live band in the world right now. She doesn't sweat...she Drips Cool.
Hating on Lars because of napster is the earliest internet meme I can think of - it's really pathetic that people still carry that with them. I've seen so many reactions to Metallica over the years, and the one constant regardless of tjhe song or the setting - studio or live - is that Lars stands out to the average listener. For me it's Hetfield's voice and riffs, but for the average listener Lars is by far the favourite. And come to think of it, no other drummer gets that enthusiastic attention in the reaction world.
Wait - now that I think of it there is one drummer who shines brighter - it's Pau! Hilarious!
Yes, Pau is a polyrhythmic icon. I have enough trouble just playing complicated parts….but to sing…..Wow! 🔥🤘#NumberlyGarfs
🤘⚠️super power trio ⚠️🤘
Ale don’t move as much because she started having knee pains.
Great reaction, Tim. Thank you.
All three of them are so talented pretty beautiful and pau so gorgeous i love her ❤😊
Somebody may have already said, the owner of Whiskey GoGo is a massive fan of Metallica - so this was also a tribute and dedicated to the owner.
When you see The Warning bust out a song like this, it helps illustrate just how proficient they are technically. They all have the ability to fully shred but they only play exactly what each song needs. This shows a musical maturity far beyond their years.
Wooooo! 🤘🔥⚡
Great reaction, man!! The Warning played two new songs at recent shows in Mexico. The songs have not yet been released and will be part of the new album. There are fan videos with extraordinary quality! It would be great to see you react to these performances. They're called Sick and Hell You Call A Dream. The shows took place in Mexico City, Monterrey and Guadalajara. You'll go crazy with Ale in these songs!
🤘
Sound needs to come up. Thanks for the reaction
also the only time this song has ended with the lead singer blowing a kiss to the crowd
Gran reacción. 🤘🇲🇽🤘🇲🇽🤘🇲🇽 No solo es sorprendente que unas niñas estén tocando hard rock y metal en ese lugar, también lo es que el público haya sido gente que les dobla o triplica la edad!!!
Dany is like Emppu from Nightwish, both play what the song need, no more, no less and both can shred with the best - just don't need to showoff. Young Ale (14) is such a badass on bass and Pau is doing Pau things and we all love it. I love TW's rendition of this song !
Tim, you gotta catch them live. Its such an experience. My first time to see them live was at a small club in Pennsylvania that held maybe 350. It was fantastic.
I'm in the exact same boat, Death Magnetic was the last Metallica album I got and have never bought a digital one. I buy vinyls and stream everything. The Warning makes me want to go get this album though.
Agreed Lars is a good drummer he's just shadowed by a lot of great musicians in the band and heavy metal world is all. And his personality makes him a target for haters of course.
Si a Great band
the all-female rock group , called The Warning,
for my taste is a rare mix of legendary rock groups like Suzi Quatro, Joan Jett and the black hearts and Heart.
greetings from Mexico.
I think The Warning made this song kind of fun - I saw this prior to seeing Metallica perform it, doesn't seem too easy to convert it to a 3 piece band from a 4 piece. And, I think people slam on Lars' drumming just because they do not like him and that is how they lash out.
🤘🤘
🤘🔥
Good reaction as usual. I sensed hesitation on your part in describing Dany's soloing ability, and I don't blame you. :) Saying something negative would result in overwhelming dislikes and outrage from the army, but you effectively gave a politically correct observation while keeping it positive. You're right, she's not Kirk Hammet. But at the same time, Kirk can't sing like she can, can he? :) There's no frontperson in the world I'd rather have than Dany. Her soloing ability is fine and gets the job done, and solos like the one on When I'm Alone or XXI Century Blood are examples of how you do a memorable melodic solo that's perfect for the song.
To be a three piece, covering Metallica, and make it sound like there's no guitar missing... well, it's missing, but it's not needed. By the way, I'm a fellow physical media lover 😁 Even though I don't own a CD-player, or a vinyl player at the moment. I do have an MP3-player though. I know, I am such a dinosaur 😂
No shade on Dani, but her current hi-gain tone would have killed in this recording. Saturation makes players sound more fluid and hides some mistakes. And BTW, Kirk live is not Kirk studio. Just sayin'. Being a long time guitarist, I can't believe I'll say this. Even the best guitarists would be cringe-y in TW songs. These ladies are brilliant and have the rare ability to have continuity without the next song sounding like the last. Viva The Warning!
I don't think she's a very good singer, just ok, and is very average on guitar.
