- You have to know when to Quit. After another cold nights Moto camping in Spain things are getting harder on our Travels as we head to northern Spain on the Africa Twins. Motorcycle camping is getting harder as the months moto camping trip challenge becomes impossible to continue. We have the Strangest ride of our lives followed by multiple problems that mean we just cannot continue. We are so disappointed in our selves

Hi guys ,you're doing a fantastic job moto camping, I remember watching you when you first decided to give it a go back in the UK and to be honest I didn't think you guys would take to it but with lots of persistence you are like two veterans at it you have made great progress and you look like you are really enjoying your adventure apart from the cold weather you are experiencing at the moment, but don't think you're giving up by having a night in a hotel because as you say safety first, you've inspired me to have a go at moto camping even though I promised myself I would never do it again after a couple of disasters, you guys are amazing and I'm really enjoying your content and the adventure you are having. well done guys ❤
This comment.... It makes this all worth while for us. We started this Channel to show everyone that You can do motorcycle travel and adventures yourself... You dont need to be a pro or have lots of money. We just wanted people to see it can be done and to encourage others out on their bike for adventures... Good for you bud, you have seen how much we have loved what we are doing, its all about the attitude and accepting that sometimes its hard but it always will work out in the end.
Thank you
Nothing worse than being cold in a tent! You made exactly the right choice 👏🤗
I fully understand, warmth and safety should always be the order of the day. Don't feel bad about a night in a hotel, 1 night out of 24 is admirable!!
Thanks so much, we decided it was smarter to know when to quit than to wait until we realise we should have quit whilst ahead... But we are not beaten yet...
You both absolutely deserve to spend a night in a nice hotel.
Thanks so much bud, we will be back on it after a recharge and warm bed!
“First thing lunchtime” absolutely love that, 😅
Standard for us it seems!
Hey Ewa and Rich!
First off, those boiled eggs looked like they were in such a rush to leave the campsite, they didn’t even have time for a goodbye wave! And no coffee with breakfast? Talk about starting the day on a hard-boiled note.
Rich, I heard you mention the cold nights in the tent. Have you considered using inner layers in your sleeping bags? I’ve seen other campers do it, and it makes a world of difference. Either that, or a winter-rated sleeping bag might save you from those nighttime chills. A good night's sleep is golden, especially when you're adventuring.
A morning coffee in that quaint little town would have done wonders to warm you up for the ride ahead. At least you got your caffeine fix later on to heat up the bloodstream!
Just for fun, which parts of your body get the coldest when you're riding in the wind? If it’s your legs, long johns could be a game-changer. And if it’s your upper body, a good old spencer could make those chilly rides a bit more bearable. I know, they might seem a bit old-school, but trust me, they work wonders.
Ewa, those heated grips must be a lifesaver! 11 degrees at the petrol station is definitely on the chilly side. And fish on a gurgin? That’s a new one for me! Might not be the most filling after a ride, but I love how you’re up for trying new things.
Rich, it looked like you had a blast on those twisties! And I appreciate your honest food reviews. Here, even in the off-season, campsites usually offer discounts, so it's worth asking around.
And that hotel key mix-up? At least you got to enjoy a warm bath and shower after the cold ride - a nice little surprise in disguise!
Keep the adventures coming!
Cheers! 🌄🏕🏍
I do love a runny Egg!
Yes we have been told about the sleeping bag liners which sound like a great idea and pack up small so no problem to get one for the next rip for sure. We often wear base layers from @Oxfordproducts that do agood job keeping us warm on the bike. Heated grips are a must though.
Hiya Rich and Ewa! Don’t get disheartened, it’s all part of the adventure, some days it goes like that. Those are the trips you remember, more 3:40 than the trips that went without a hitch! My favourite camping trick is the buy a newspaper, or two…I even buy the yesterday’s newspaper at half price. When I set up tent, I spread newspapers under the groundsheet and then again under the tent. It’s amazing how paper insulates the cold emanating from the cold ground and the tent doesn’t get as cold. I even put 2 layers under my sleeping bag if it’s that cold or wet! Really enjoying your travels in Portugal and Spain.Take care and ride safe! Cheers🍺🏍️💪😎🇬🇧🇿🇦
Thanks so much, carrying another insulation layer is definitely needed for future trips I think
When enjoyment turns to endurance it is time to change from the plan. Good decision.
Thanks Mike, I have the feeling northern Spain is going to be somewhat challenging
Great decision safety first, look after your woman keep her safe & warm 👍
Always! 🫡
100% the right call
There’s no way I would be even thinking of putting a tent up in that cold
Thanks so much for your support, we didnt want to let anyone down or feel like we did the wrong thing but the weather in northern spain is just not good enough! We planned to do the Pyrenees on our way back but they are still covered in snow so had to be wise about it and save it for another trip
I was there in April, it was awful weather, lots of flooding, and snow, i go every year in April to Morocco but in a 4x4, and this year was bad from Salamanca north, even Madrid had snow
Good video as normal 👍
Northern Spain seems to be a pretty harsh place! We will get to morocco on the bikes, that needs a series of its own
Well done you too! Worse thing ever being cold 🥶 and you have had a cold all the best 👍
It cant be sunshine and parrots every day i guess!
Right decision I don’t know why you didn’t make it sooner when the night temperature dropped .Your health and safety always come first .
Thanks Barb, we are stubborn buggars and neither of us wanted to quit
Hats off to you riding in that . I rode in Scotland on a brand new bike .in gale force wind and rain over the Cairngorms got to Carlisle so knackered dropped the bike . Never again
Yes some days the smart thing is to know when to call it quits
We used to go camping for a month in France and Northern Spain every year snowing in the pyrenees overnight in August its character building 😎
I guess if you know it’s going to be proper cold you can be better prepared for it. We have learnt allot on this tour, it’s our first motorcycle camping tour so it was straight in at the deep end for us!
Hi guys. Still catching up on your videos slowly but surely. I guess you have each other to give that vote of confidence if one of you is having doubts.
I’m not a camper myself as I prefer a nice soft bed etc but admire the way you do things and long may you continue
Thanks so much, yes we rely so much on each other when we travel. Team work is so important
Loved seeing you I the wrong room 🤣🤣🤣 but if you're cold and wrecked finding a hotel is DEFINITELY the right thing to do guys 👍
Thanks, we didnt want to be weak and quit but sometimes you have to be smart. Glad you still had a laugh with us along the way. See you in the next one
As bikers we’ve all been there, cold, wet, sick at some stage. Don’t be disappointed you guys are doing great ..👍🏻❣️
Thanks, if it wasn’t hard at times it wouldn’t be the adventure we seek
Exactly … I’ve been riding for 53 years, it’s what keeps life interesting and fun no matter what. Plus sausage egg and chips make it all worth while😜😂
@@jenk.4906 Amazing the difference a good familiar meal makes to morale and energy
Have a great weekend.
@@jenk.4906 You too, Ride safe
Don’t beat yourselves up. You are feeling the cold even more because you are so tired. You have done a great job, far better than most of your viewers I would suggest, certainly better than I would have done. Without proper rest you are more likely to suffer from fatigue and have an accident so get some proper rest. When I do such trips I always have the odd day off the bike just to recharge the batteries. Good luck with the rest of the trip.
Thanks Andrew, I guess we just want to make the most of everyday so we don’t miss a day to travel and film an episode. The north of Spain is very different to what we had expected… but hey isn’t this what travelling is about? To experience and learn new things…
Right choice - you have to know when enough is enough! Nothing worse than being too cold and not getting a decent sleep. Love the ongoing saga of Rich trying to find food - a different chuckle every episode (sorry Rich but can't help laughing) :D
lol Food is a daily battle!
Hi Guys hope you have warmed up and had a great night's sleep. please don't think for one minute that you have failed infect you have succeeded from the day you set off. i have traveled by motorcycle for years and i can honestly say the most important thing is to stay safe. Also if you decide to stay in hotels more often just to get a descant sleep and recharge you batteries that's fine you should not feel guilty and at the end of the day it's about enjoying the adventure and making it a pleasure not a chore. Enjoy the rest of your trip and stay safe good luke.
Thanks so much Luke, the support here has been amazing, but you are so right, it mustn’t become a chore or worse a safety concern to carry on.
Tomorrow is a new day
Don't blame you one bit. Its good to have a warm bath and a comfy bed to recharge your batteries occasionally,
Thanks Mike, that’s exactly what’s needed 👍
🐕💩🤣🤣🤣🤣! You could do with a bivvy bag or a liner to improve temperature in your sleeping bag. But great job you guys, it looks fun. 😁👍
Yes, I’m definitely going to get one of those bag liners 👍👍
sleep well . Camping is great for a day or two but you two need medals. Good job👍
We feel like we deserve medals too lol What a excellent idea this was!
@@ontheroadadventure it seemed like a good idea at the time😂. love it
Live and learn! We love it really!
A wise decision.
Some years ago, the wife and I were motorcycle camping on 2 bikes around Scotland.
Fed up with being blown sideways in the rain
We booked a static caravan for 2 nights and ate steak in local pub..
No shame attached 🏍
Now that sounds just awesome! Scotland is a lottery to tour when it comes to the weather but so good when it’s sunny
You’re so right to ditch the tent that was horrible weather & it’s no fun camping that. I do things for enjoyment & if I don’t enjoy it o don’t do it . Classic having someone else’s room . All the best guys 👏🏴✊KTF.
Cheers Neil, we are stubborn and didn’t want to give in but you have to be smart sometimes even if it’s not what we wanted
Definitely the right choice! I would not entertain riding any further or trying to set up camp in that wind! Forget being uncomfortable but would not be safe staying out in that wind
Thanks so much, we think we made the right choice even though its not a choice we wanted to make ourselves
Guys you have had some hard ground to pitch tents let alone ride in deep gravel to pitch. My hat is off for you two, its been ace watching all the episodes, spend every night in a hotel you deserve it, hot bacon coffee, shower ( no wet towels to stow away) tv , go on treat yourselves your on holiday 😀 😋 😉 😜
Thanks Daz, We do love the challenges though and over coming them, we wont be beat! beack to the camping tomorrow
Fingers crossed
Thanks for Joining us Smokey, we will get back to the moto camping tomorrow, we really didnt want to wimp out on this!
Keep it up, you’re both awesome and inspiring others to get out there. You could be sleeping in a couch and I would still appreciate and watch your videos! 👍👍
THanks so much, inspiring others is the reason we started this channel, we want to show you dont need to be a travel guru or have lots of money to do trips, if you want it enough then we can all make it happen, even if it means taking a tent
Hey there is nothing to be ashamed of. If you’re suffering it’s no fun. The worst thing is cold. Rain yeah but usually warm too. It’s climate change the jet stream is all over the place. It’s sunny here but that biting wind is also here. Usually I hear loads of bike buzzing around but really quiet here on south coast.
We had no idea just how windy it can be here, explains all the wind turbines!
Absolutely the right decision, you are a couple of heroes and common sense must prevail
Thanks bud, Not much common sense here between us usually but we scrapped the barrel and came up trumps this time lol
I used to live in my van many years ago, I can’t imagine how hard it is to live off the bike for as long as you have. Well done, take a break in a hotel for a bit, recharge then re-assess. 👍
Thanks Martin. Van life is massive now and we do find it intriguing.... We have met allot of people living in their vans travelling on the sites, some of the vans are just epic. Whats the hardest thing you found about van life? We would need a van big enough for us and the bikes though! ive never nor would i be without a bike..
22 days longer than I’d last guys. Why not. You’ve done well. 👍🏼
Thanks Jim… shows not over yet though 👍
Are there no hotels around there? If you’re going to travel on your motorcycle, you really should invest in heated gear! You can even wear it to sleep in with an external battery.
We left the heated gear at home on this trip, we spent most of our time in Portugal and the south so no need, we believed it would be warmer by the time we came back up north but we were very wrong! We live and learn and push on… It’s an adventure so we all have to take the rough days along with the good days 🏕️
April hmmmmm and so many of us thought you were still out there. Not that it matters I’m loving the series thank you 👍
Hi lester, we film everyday but it’s only possible to edit and release 3 vids a week so a back log of videos soon grows on a tour like this over a month. So a months tour will take almost 3 months to complete on TH-cam.
Glad your enjoying the series, we definitely learnt that Spain is still cold in the north until the summer months.. as were the Picos 😂
I am in Passau at the mo; in the sunshine. Tomorrow heading to Budjovice to camp and visit the Budweiser brewery and a motorcycle museum. Two days later to Pilsen for another brewery visit and look around. At least you have someone to talk to. I travel solo.
One thing we like about camping is the social aspect to it in the evening, there’s always other travellers to talk too
I’m starting to think the 70 euro on suncream was a mistake!
LOL Yes, might aswell chuck that away now, its dead weight!
There's no shame in admitting when you've had enough. Many of us would have packed it in much sooner. Being safe is paramount, specially in a foreign land. Getting injured or letting an illness get the better of you will win no awards. Good call. Keep posting!
Thanks Paul, the sensible decision is often the hardest... But we are back on our way now..
Regarding restaurants and even just coffees in Spain my wife and I have worked out a few pointers.
Loads of road bars have closed in the last 15 or so years with the growth of the motorway network. Larger towns have coffee bars but many smaller ones are dead until evening. We therefore look for petrol stations, a great number of which offer catering of some sort.
Many bars offering food don’t open their kitchens until 8 or 9 of an evening. Choice before then is limited to the items displayed on the bar, which can vary greatly in quality. Tortilla is usually the best option.
Try and learn Spanish food by its Spanish name. Translations to English can be absolutely terrible. I’ve seen Calamari referred to as fish rings or Callos (tripe) referred to as beef stew.
Dishes are served very literally, so don’t assume that, for example, salmon comes other than on its own. Often there will be bread served also, or maybe a few lettuce leaves, but I’ve known it to be nothing other than the salmon (or whatever). Go for platos combinados or else order separate tapas dishes.
Generally payment is made after you’ve eaten, but if you aren’t buying anything more ask to settle immediately.
We found exactly this problem, very few roadside bars etc left open and what was on offer inside in the day was very low quality food
Don’t be so hard on yourselves you two ! ..24 days bike travel, camping, cooking, ..you both been poorly too..hell ! a good sleep in a warm bed and a decent rest and reset ..camping in very low temperatures is miserable I know lol …not sleeping right and then driving probably not safe either absolutely the right call ! You two are troopers really enjoying the vids ! ❤
Thanks guys! We are stubborn buggars! We will be back on it tomorrow
When you are freezing cold and wet the enjoyment of riding decreases and we ride to enjoy it. Safety is the most important aspect so you did the right thing by getting a room where you can be warm dry and safe.
Yes i think you are right, cold or wet at once can be tolerated but both plus high winds meant we just had to call it a day sadly
Your really not selling the moto camping thing! Just remember your lucky to be doing what your doing guys! Keep safe x
Moto camping has been amazing, it is so much more affordable allowing us to do more travelling than we could before, however it seems the key is to get where the weather is hot and good and stay there! We are so lucky to be doing this trip, we do love it and will be sad when it has to end for sure
The good thing about travelling off season it's you find low prices and few or zero tourists. The bad thing is many places are closed. This apart from the inclement weather you might find.
overall though its been great here, our advice though if travelling this early in the year is get to the south and stay there as long as possible
Good decision !!!!!
Sometimes you have to quit while ahead
Always 100% safety first. No shame in getting that hotel room, I'd have done it before now. I've driven down through Zaragoza a few times and it always seems to be windy in that area. Once it actually took the door of the van I was driving when I stopped for a break
Yeah judging by the amount of wind turbines it must be windy here most the year it seems. we were just not prepared for this. We hope things will be able to carry on as before as we go further north
@@ontheroadadventure Good luck, I have faith in you both as I'm sure a lot of others have too. We'll all be following you and cheering you on and Rich, find yourself some proper food
Thanks so much! The hotel has food on so we will survive to ride another day!

Thanks we realise now having read these comments we did do the right thing. we will be back to camping tomorrow though!
Many parts of Spain advertise skiing. I remember going to Segovia, just north of Madrid at over 3000 feet, in early March years ago (fly drive, not bike fortunately!) and the passes were covered in snow with skiers all over the place.
Yes we still found one ski resort with snow and people in it. Who knew eh! We had no idea lol
@@ontheroadadventure As I regularly repeat Spain is the third most mountainous country in Europe after Switzerland and Norway, but many people don’t think it’s anything but beaches. Biking is the best way to find this out first hand!
The voice of experience here ☝️
It's amazing how there's no one in those towns,we used to ride the small villages in france and it was like everybody had moved out just the odd chicken on the side of the road .....keep up the good work it may be hard but memories last a lifetime ,so glad I've done it better than lying on a beach for two weeks ......just. And im just as fussy when it comes to food you not the only one.
Hi Mark glad to have you with us mate, this fussy Englishman is starting to look bad 🤣 Nothing worse than being hungry and not finding any proper food!
Allot of these dinners here serve up not only food I don’t eat but it’s such low quality, you would think that simple foods like jacket potato or mash and veg would be common the world over eh?!
We had the same experience in France going the small roads, trying to find an open cafe for coffee was often very difficult. Where do all these people go?!
I presume their all indoors ? One of life's mysteries. One good thing about france there's always a bread shop in every village. If you remember ony two french words it's jambon baguette you'll never go hungry 😄. Great watching you both 👍
YES!! That’s the French I mastered too lol Me and you would get on 🤣
Best option by far guys
Thanks 🙏 win some lose some I guess.
I must say, I myself have a regular siesta every afternoon, so I’d highly recommend it!
Now that we could get onboard with!
Even if you were/are disapointed, I think you did awesome by going that long in a tent. I think I recommended to do 3 nights in the tent and 1 in a hotel on your video where you adressed your plan. This is way more than I would have done on my first moto-camping trip and probably more nights in a row than many have done ever in their lives. So heads off to you two.
Thanks so much, we know we can be hard on ourselves at times, we both are stubborn and always want to achieve what we set out to do. As you say though, not a bad effort for a first moto camping tour. We knew we were going in the deep end for a sink or swim situation
Wise decision it’s not a sufferfest ! Enjoy the comfort 😉👍
Thanks Emmet - We were feeling a bit sad about giving in, but we think it was right in the end
no shame u two , takes a lot to no when to stop 😊

The live chat dissapeared on me. Good video guys. I think the lack of good food isn't helping with the cold and energy levels

If you stay in cities look out for the private manned carparks, we left our bikes in rome for a week in one and it was all good when we came back, i wouldnt leave the bike outside alone though
This camping in the cold 🥶 looks hard work and a little dangerous.
It is not ideal!!
@@ontheroadadventure is camping any cheaper in the long run
Oh yes massively. For example we would average £100 a night for hotels or BnB for the two of us.... Campsites range from £12-£30 per night. This saving is going to make it possible for us to afford to travel on the bikes more than we could before. Ok we had to buy the camping kit but it should last us many years
It’s been an adventure and like all adventures there are good times and not so good.
You guys have made a great series of videos which have made us all laugh.

Thanks Norrie, you are so right, we knew it wouldnt be easy the whole time. We are not beat though.... The Show will go on!
Another excellent video, you guys are so good at telling it like it is. That sequence of you carving the bends and giving it some beans, that was me in North Wales this week... brilliant fun. I read a lot of books by RTW and long distance traveller.... a LOT. Every one of them use / have used hotels / hostels when travelling. I know you set yourself the challenge, but let's be real, it is no fun if you are not equipped for cold conditions. My trip to Wales was a rerun of Easter 2023. I went home on my second day because despite a forecast of 14 degrees... it snowed! All my heated / warm kit was at home, so, I joined it. This trip it got down to 5 degrees on a couple of nights but I had the right gear and was toasty.
Thanks so much, we really wanted to show the reality of motorcycle travel and the experience real people will have, the whole picture… We won’t be so keen to leave the heated kit home again next time though 😂 We had no idea Spain would be like this, we stupidly assumed it’s going to be much warmer and dryer the whole way! We live and learn
nice to have a bed for a change
First time for 24 nights!
motorcycling has got to be fun,if your not enjoying it due to bad weather its time to take a break and re set 👍 enjoy your good nights sleep in a nice warm bed , if you get a wee bottle of Amazon , when you fill it in the middle of the night pop it in your sleeping bag to keep you warm 😂
haha we were disgusted by the pee bottle idea when we first learned about it.... but funny how it becomes more appealing when your shaking in your sleeping bag at night lol

Yep, religious bank holiday, big family gathering spend the day together in one house type thing.

🤣 It’s definitely taking its toll a bit, both feeling run down now but we drive each other on, we both have weaker days and it’s our job to look after the other and help each other. We just love the challenge of these things and you are so right, the sense of achievement after. We knew it wouldn’t be easy to moto camp and tour and film for one month but we know together we will do it!
We can’t thank you all enough for sticking with us and supporting us and the channel. Glad we can have a laugh together
You did the right thing by going to a hotel that night as it has to be safety first. I am going camping/touring for just over three weeks and I have allowed for a possibility of five nights in a hotel because of bad weather. Great videos and love the music you are using.
Where are you going alastair?
@ontheroadadventure 23 days through France but hopefully the weather will be on my side.
Thats a long time to do france, youll have a great trip, go slow and see more approach is always best
The plan is to stay in each site for two nights and then move on. It worked out 30 years ago so let's hope it still works out. There is always the hotel option for emergencies. 🤣🤣🤣
Awesome, can’t wait to see how you get on. Which tent are you taking? We are tempted to try a small tent to reduce pack size but I’m not convinced crawling out on my hands and knees to go for a pee in the night will be much fun
Just wanted to say how inspiring your videos are for me... thanks... the more your videos go on .. the more frank in your tone is becoming... living the dream eh
Thanks so much bud, we promised you all realism here… That’s what this is, the reality of motorcycle camping for one month…
It’s so important we stress though that we are still living the dream and this is exactly what an adventure should be! If it was always easy and sunshine and roses we probably wouldn’t be interested. We would have to join those all inclusive holidays where you don’t leave the hotel 😂 That’s not for us!
Hopefully Rich u will get some decent food soon I’d have real problems being a veggie and don’t have fish either I know how yr feeling x x 🤗🤗
Thanks bud, your options must be very limited when travelling! We do prefer to make our own real food but its so time consuming when travelling and filming too, Luckily Ewa is an amazing cook and looks after me well
What was up with the bacon then Rich? Blimey if I was that hungry, I think I may have eaten it anyway. Still, at least you got something inside you. Being cold when you're trying to sleep must be a real downer.
Some days are harder than others when touring, but I think it’s the challenges that we bikers embrace
Wow! That landscape!
Spain sure is beautiful, the landscape is so varied too, it seems to change every day to something new and unseen before
you guys don't fail, you tell it, like it is.
Yep you get it straight here!
Man…I feel for you guys. The cold is tough if you don’t have the gear for it. We are dealing with the exact opposite here, 97° today. Great end to the day
We honestly thought of spain as a hot place... We have learnt allot about spain on this trip it seems! although we still have no idea where on earth everyone else is??! Where are you from? we miss the sunshine of portugal
My wife and I have been thoroughly enjoying your adventures, and you reminded us of how we were when we were younger! You have especially inspired Jaki (wifey) to continue to seek out new adventures, just so long as they involve a Travel Lodge….(to be fair, we are in our sixties and don’t do “cold” very well these days.)
That’s amazing guys, This is what we set out to do… to inspire others and show anyone can travel. Get out and adventure together guys! 👍👍👍
@@ontheroadadventure I’ve been riding motorcycles for about 48 years, 23 of them with my wife (two up) and I’ve done a lot of what is called “Moto camping” over the years. Back then I had a tent (canvas) and very heavy and awkward to put up. A sleeping bag (nylon) not very warm, so ended up sleeping in my bike gear. And a basic set of army tins. It amazes me the marvellous equipment you can use now! As I said, we are getting on a bit now, so we take the hotel these days, and sometimes the exploration is in our van if weather isn’t right for the bike. Cherish the adventures you have now while you are young, because one day it won’t be quite as easy. Having said that, you absolutely made the right decision to take the safety first choice to head for the hotel. There is no shame in that at all, in fact it’s exactly the right thing to do. Bless you both, and we look forward to seeing your further adventures!
Thanks so much, so often we hear from people they wish they did it when they were younger… that’s why we do what we do. Hell we can’t afford a mortgage anyway lol 😂
Can’t believe you got someone’s room! Lucky they were not there hahahaha
If rich was alone, i bet he wouldnt have even noticed the other peoples stuff, he would be in bed waiting when they came back to their room!
Don’t blame you guys! I would have done the same! If it helps, went to Madrid last year in March pissed it down, this year went in March to Andalucía, pissed it down! Lesson, avoid Spain March and April 😂😂😂 loving the videos though. 👍👍👍
Yes, us brits think of Spain as all sunshine and beaches but turns out it has a whole lot more to offer and also huge areas of nothing…. And lots of wind turbines for good reason!
Good call guys, enjoyment not endurement. So inspirational to others thinking of giving it a go. Enjoy the rest of the holiday and keep safe
thanks so much, we wanted to show other people that anyone can have a epic adventure even if youve no real idea what your doing lol
You have the gift of youth compared to me. I have commented before “get a room”😂. It’s not about roughing it out but enjoying your lives together and this experience. No one will be criticising you only affirming your decision. I used to waterski in competitions and Saturday all wet suits soaking and camp went to bed pissed. On Sundays anti noise laws so competition ran 6am 12midday. So 5 am hangover putting a wet wetsuit on. Yuk😂. If you can afford it have a few nights in a bed, don’t suffer hardship if dont need to.
Thanks bud, it’s these challenges and hurdles we will remember in years to come and also we are gaining experience with every day… Overall, even when we are tired, hungry or ill…. We still are loving every moment
I don’t blame you, the earliest I go camping is July. I will cover roughly the same area you have done this trip.
Spend your time in portugal, its just stunning there. We should have waited for this tour but you know what its like.... we just wanted to ride as soon as the snow in the picos melted...
Brilliant guys but always safety first
Thanks John, we will live to ride another day..... Onwards!
Keep up the good work guys, You have made us all an amazing series to watch and I wish I could do more to thank you both for the laughs and entertainment
You are so welcome, we are having the time of our lives doing this. Even when the going is tough we wish we could travel like this and make content for you all full time
Don’t blame you guys at all for taking a hotel, weather looked awful! Hope tomorrow brings better weather and better food for you Rich 😂
Thanks Bob, i honestly could have cried when i saw what food was on offer. It amazes me that every country hasnt discovered Jacket potatoes for example!
Fair game to you guys camping, we use parador hotels when touring Spain check them out😉 pricy but we budget for them loving your trip
Thanks Bob, this is our first go moto camping and although it has plenty of downsides, it is much cheaper and that means we can travel further and longer than we were able to before. Upto now we used cheap hotels and BnBs but cheap anything just doesn’t exist anymore
Great choice you made! I would have done the same as you! Still great fun video even tho you didn’t have much luck
Thanks, Motorcycle camping in southern Portugal is a whole different game compared to northern spain this early in the year
Brilliant as usual,
Thanks Martin, Glad your with us... We will be back on it in the morning after a good nights rest
Iv you have you heated jackets with you why not try to sleep with them on to keep warm at night ,,great vlogs realy entertaining
We wish we had brought out heated jackets with us that would have been a game changer!
Just watch your vlog ,,nice room hot shower and a bed for a goodnights sleep,,take a hot toddy ( brandy or whisky in water with honey and lemon) to sweat the cold out ,,enjoy your room 👍
Hopefully we will be back on form and ready to go again in the morning!
Love you guys....
Thanks man, we are so blown away by the support and kind words we get here, it really drives us on...
We don’t camp when we do Albania as hotels are never more than 35/40 a night
No I don’t blame you, we would do the same and then far less kit to carry
We find it’s the cooking equipment that’s the heaviest, we still carry a tent and sleep system in one bag but then just eat out
Finding, preparing and eating the food is also hugely time consuming on a daily basis
You gave nothing to be ashamed of. Why make yourself miserable to prove a point? Seems to me like mix and match is the best option?
Great watch, and definitely the right decision.
Ride safe. Onwards 👍
Would i advise a months moto camping.... Well if you were spending the whole time in southern portugal or somewhere warm then yes it is fine and comfortable but as soon as its cold or wet it becomes a chore. We are not done yet though...
