How to cut a western pleasure mane

Hi Eliza! When he was showing often I kept his mane short, but now that he is not showing anymore his mane is super long. Most of my horses manes are long except for the ones I show. I try to keep them as natural as possible, but most disciplines (when showing) requires a short mane.

Do not cut horse's manes. They serve specific purposes. Cutting them defeats those purposes. Let a horse be a horse. Stop making it about you.
