- After a week of looking at the boxes in distain, I finally cracked both the Carbon Fiber Roller and Brushed Metal Chassis Rlaarlo AK917 open and take it for a ripper! Are they the next best hyped ultimate sliced bread weapon or a sad pricey flop of a joke?? I might rant a bit too about my opinions too, but hey "Freedom of Speech BABY!!

I'm still waiting & I purchased the carbon fiber brushless versions also... I'm pretty sure they're just holding ppls money hostage smfh

The car, itself, is actually excellent. I have the CF RTR, and it runs straight as an arrow. The electronics in it are also quite good. However, there are problems...and, as many are discovering, these problems are not with the car, but with Rlaarlo' downright-horrible customer service, as well as their inability to get orders (especially parts) shipped in a timely manner.
My car was supposed to be shipped a month ago with extra parts never heared a thing again… defenitly want a refund, fck this customer service its horrible
Hi didnt want to say any thing on sunday but it is now monday and still no reply from them .Just canceled one of my orders for the 3s battery and 50 tooth pinion gear.Will see if send a email about that.
I guess this is all personal experience. I myself have never had a problem with them, but take my anecdotal experience to account with theirs.

i thought about buying one as they seemed like a good alternative to a 4tec especially with the pre sale and current sale. But hearing Rlaarlo not doing to good on the customer service end kinda turned me away. But im also all over the place with what I want. I think ill just snag the hypergo when its out and call it a day.

I thought it was just my CF (RTR) version that seem to have the front wheels not facing in the SAME direction as the other.
That CF (roller) appears to be the same at 6:04 (driver side wheel turned further out than the passenger.)
Idk if in person it’s straight (as an arrow, as some claim,) or it’s just the angle I’m seeing it from, on this video, but my car (in person) one wheel seem to be facing away from the other a bit.
If I were to balance both (as is,) they’re both are NOT facing straight forward, slightly outward.
Not sure how straight it will drive that way; haven’t ran it yet, but I can’t see that being any good for the tires.
Might need some alignment.
*It’s hard to tell with the cover on, both look pretty straight (until the cover is out.)
I’ve got sour grapes about the Rlaarlo/Amoril 1/14 series just because they had potential to be great but every time I run em something breaks.
I do want one of the blue and orange 917’s but I dunno if I’ll pull the trigger or not
The presale price was a pretty good deal. Full pop though, not so much. I will say that the roller's are a good bit of kit for the money
Exactly why I stopped buying the cheapo stuff, after the first rip they loose their appeal but yet my Arrma never gets old. Just my opinion but I will say I’d love too own the blue one for a budget road car 👍

I`m glad to see you received your order, lucky you. I ordered a Red Carbon fiber RTR on April 6. Received an e mail May 5 saying it was shipped. Cool. I check tracking and package was waiting for pick-up for 6 days, I e mail Rlaarlo on the 4th, 5th and6th day to tell them their is a problem, I e mailed the support line with help. It was delivered but not to me. I don`t know were it`s at. I did not receive one reply from Rlaarlo, NOTHING. The place is a joke, they don`t care about its customers, they just want your money. I`m still out $345.42.
Out of the box, carbon version is Nice, but really less pleasant to drive than aa tamiya TT02 with oil suspension and same brushless controller. Tyres have absolutely no grip and steering is quite strange. Plus, the pin of rear right wheel was missing. First opinion : disapointed, but im sûre they could improve soon.

It was AliExpress yes! I've gone back and it's now $27. Think they may have made an error and I scored it before they realized how low they were selling it. I'm going to fire it up before I share the link, as I don't want to promote burning down people's houses 🤣🤣

Hey Aaron I 100% agree with your opinion on this speed challenge. Btw I installed the 120A version of that esc in my 917 and ran it this past weekend. Let’s just say I was less than impressed with it, seems to be extremely underpowered. Hopefully the 150A treats you better 👍💯🇨🇦

Ohh brother I definately feel the sourness. Im thankful I got mine because I really liked the look of the car and what you get in them. I really dont care for the speed challenge, as Im really not competitive. As it is the platform is very capable of high speed and if I can get mine to s comfortable 120mph Im good. Good luck with that competition, I'll probably submit some mediocre speeds.

I wonder if this car drives as solid as ak 787? I a month or so i want to order one of them..i am sure by now they must have fixed any issues...i would keep mine stock...60 mph on 3s 4500 60c is all i am looking for...are both AK"s same gearing..i also think they have different motor options ..i will be getting metal rtr... thanks for great review. 😊😊
The 787 handles better imo. They ironed out some kinks in terms of fluids. It's much more stable at speed. The body is better suited for speed too 👍
I believe the 787 is next on my list..beautiful race car...i saw you finally recieved your 1/16 scale sg 918...if you find a smooth road even the stock shocks can keep it straight as an arrow at 50 mph imo..i had mine up to 40mph with 3s 1000 20c,which fit perfect..also my mjx 2s 2000 mah fit perfect..i see bang g has a race star 2445 5400kv..i believe stock esc should be fine..no doubt it will hit mid to high 30s with 2s...over 50 for sure on 3s...i believe most guys would want a setup like this and want this upgrade..i myself am also considering it even though i like it already...i cant wait to get my new shocks and motor heat sink...may also add fan..motor gets pretty hot running in front of my house on 2s 2000 ion batt..but it was 95 degrees yesterday..its awesome at night and the radio is great with dual rates..if you could lower it someway that would be cool...but its so stable and planted i love it as is...i glued a platic washer under front bumper..when you brake that area hits ground...nothing else hits.i really think this car is going to be a hit...it blows all the others in this category away...Good luck!😊

Hobby R/Cs are not for the regular guys that wanna have fun once a month. It’s a daily hobby that consumes our minds. When you become a tru hobbyist, you can easily beef up any rc and make it go as fast as you want it too. liability and human error from lack of experience covers why 99% of stock electronic rcs are slow out the box.
You didn’t speak about the differentials? Do the look tough? Or cheap, what about the shocks and driveshafts, how well do they look like they will hold up to power? Does the steering and aarms move freely, it’s a lot you could have covered, even in your beginner stages, but I understand most of you guys are new to this hobby and are more into creating content. Respectfully this is a horrible review.
