    Hard to find videos on the V6s. The procedure is very nicely broken down. You are a real pro. I would not attempt this one, but now I know to keep these mounts maintained.

    Awesome video!!! Thanks for the detail. I'll be replacing these on my 2006 Honda Accord V6 this week. I just passed 300,000 miles (original owner) and look forward to doing much of my own service with the help of your videos. Keep up the great work and thanks for helping.

      300,000 I'm not surprised this engine made it on Ward's 10 Best Engines consecutively two years in a row does it have original transmission?

    Thank you. It costs me $1089 from my local shop to replace those 2 engine mounts on my 07 Acura RL. Lablor cost was $400.00

      160 for a set? Are they oem. If aftermarket, did you have any vibrations like many people are experiencing with aftermarket parts

    Where does the vacuum line for the front motor mount route on the other end? Putting engine back in and cant find where the 2 vaccuum lines run to.

    I have a question to replace to the mount the one near the power steering Reservor do I have the use a jack in order to put the new one in

    • @msthornmac
      @msthornmac 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, that is the easiest and most effective one to replace. Only did that one so far, and it fixed my problem. The engine was lifting up like 6 inches when I revved it, and it hopped when shifting gears...thought my tranny was slipping, but now it runs beautifully and no more scraping sound! Thanks Rix!

    Can you just remove the bracket to just do a visual inspection on the top mount? Thx

      It appears that by the time the passenger side mount goes bad, the front mount has already gone bad. RIX Automotive shows how to tell if the front mount has gone bad in one of his other video. Very helpful video.

    Do I have to jack the engine to take just the right passenger motor mount off?

    • @rixautomotive910
      @rixautomotive910  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Technically no however supporting the engine will minimize the stress on the other engine mounts. Once passenger mount is loosened/removed the engine will shift slightly.

    First of all - great video! Do you know if lets say the vacuum line isn't attached to front/rear engine mount, will a driver be able to tell or there would be a light on the instrument cluster?

    Great video. Thanks. Any suggestion on how to get the two 17mm bolts loose? I tried breaker bar, wd40, 250ft-lb 1/2 impact wrench. None of these worked. I’m out of ideas. Help please.

    • @banstaman
      @banstaman 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Really soak those in penetrating oil for at least a day; then use your half inch-drive breaker bar. If it's your first time removing them, I'd suggest you get new bolts and re-thread the hole. Removed mine for the timing belt and they were rotten.

    I don’t have a vehicle lift. Can this be done with a floor jack Or would that torque the engine as you lower it?

      Floor jack works. I didn’t loosen the bracket for the front mount either. You can pull it up by the radiator hoses.

    Good job, but it's very brief, besides, these mounts in video don't fit all types of honda v6 (Acura pilot odessy)! as it depends on generation, year and model.

      Thanks for watching! All labor rates are provided by resources such as OEM’s, AllData, Mitchell etc. and all are pretty consistent. Variable will be the shop labor rates.

    Should have torque specs. Most professional mechanics do by feel. Backyarders need to have torque specs. Wondering why not in video.
